Sorry I can't share the article, but liked this:

What is the funniest thing that has happened in your job?

As a result of my work in this area, apparently becoming an object of admiration on Mumsnet [the Internet parents' forum] - improbable in many ways.

😁

Let's hope that unlike Allison Bailey LGBA win this one.

You have been persistent, haven't you.

Thanks for keeping the thread bumped by the way... Great job.

I know, I love it popping up.

Every time I think, well done lovely Ben 😍

Helleofabore · 23/08/2022 18:39

Ben Cooper is a God!

And Allison Bailey is awesome!

Helleofabore · 23/08/2022 18:39

And don't forget the support wren! Very important!

Terfydactyl · 23/08/2022 19:14

Hearach15 · 21/08/2022 20:27

I've no idea who Juno Dawson is and have no interest in finding out. What I will say is trans people saying homophobic things is just as bad as the gays and lesbians in the LGB Alliance saying transphobic things.

You apparently know what every member of LGBT thinks about everything but you dont know who Juno dawson is? Riiiiiigghhht.

And ffs will you stop quoting entire conversations then copying the little bit you are going to reply to. It makes the thread unwieldy at best, unreadable mostly.

Helleofabore · 24/08/2022 15:16

I suspect that the heterophobic posts a few pages back may have not served hearache well.

Is that a Stonewall teaching as well?

Anyway, I wonder whether Stonewall are now fully comfortable with their unquestioning support of affirming only treatments and their campaign to force conversion therapy bans into the UK, while 'conversion therapy' bans have shown in other countries to be used to prevent multi-disciplinary therapies .

This new from Australia will be watched very carefully across the world. I wonder if Stonewall will reverse ferret.... oh.... that's right. No person can deviate from the extremist stance shown by some posters without them being vilified at every opportunity.

amp.smh.com.au/national/absolutely-devastating-woman-sues-psychiatrist-over-gender-transition-20220823-p5bbyr.html

As I pointed out, Ben Cooper was quite skilful in showing just how ideologically driven Stonewall is. But.... yeah.... Stonewall.... winner!!!!

IcakethereforeIam · 24/08/2022 15:49

I don't know if this is a mother nature being a terfy kind of metaphor but I once watched a wren hunting insects in the holes in a crumbling stonewall.

Helleofabore · 27/08/2022 22:10

Here is an upcoming video on just how Stonewall have 'won'.

For anyone who needs it, this could be triggering.

This preview is a confronting video with transitioned males masturbating in female toilets, transitioned male's sexual offences listed etc.

twitter.com/Skirt_Go_Spinny/status/1562149378223120385?s=20&t=NTjuWo-KTc7RRHO1kwUczA

But, yeah. Stonewall are 'winners'.

Helleofabore · 07/09/2022 12:40

I reckon that Stonewall should get Ben Cooper to start advising them rather than Alex Sharpe after this little gem about the Piss protest.

Tweeted: 22.24 06 Sept 22 @ AlexSharpe64 with quote tweet of the vice article about the Piss protest.

"This kind of art protest will be mystifying to gender conservative dullards"

www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4628118-protest-at-ehrc-hq?page=1

This is someone who does voluntary work with Stonewall. And think it is art that a male wearing a posh frock and a semi erection pours urine over themselves while wearing a duck face mask in protest about females wanting to maintain single sex toilets.

Ahh.... yes. Superb messaging that! Full of hidden value and meaning that will ultimately support males having access to female single sex spaces, PLUS how tolerant that group of males are. And so full of SOLIDARITY to those who have to clean up all the piss and dispose of 60 bottles of it.

A WIN for messaging. AND this could be seen as another win for Stonewall with one of their volunteers in full support.

Because hey, some groups are vilified for merely sitting on the same panel, or meeting with groups labelled as hate groups (whether they are hate groups or not).

Full of wins... They keep on coming.

Stonewall would be far better off having Ben on there side.

Note:
And for clarity from the tribunal document:

"He (Knan) mentions only work by Alex Sharpe, and use of the premises for round table meetings .... In this context, Garden Court provided voluntary services to Stonewall, .." para 373

Must be noted that SB is only a QC because she is Attorney General i.e. she was given a job by Boris Johnson. Prior to her elevation to the position she was not a QC.

It must also be noted that the excellent Robin White (who is an expert on trans law) and readers of this thread will know was on the winning legal team in the of Stonewall v Allison Bailey says she has delivered "a master class in how to misinterpret Equality Law"

twitter.com/moira_robin/status/1557357737947832322

I will take the advice of such an esteemed lawyer before I take the advice of one of Boris Johnson's cabinet ministers.

How these posts come back to bite the authors.

I will take the advice of such an esteemed lawyer before I take the advice of one of Boris Johnson's cabinet ministers.

You mean this Robin White (I also note for work the Moira is dropped)?

www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4539958-big-update-on-rape-crisis-legal-challenge?page=20

The one who just happened to think it was entirely appropriate to not only seek their client's permission to, but to actually post on a thread on MN where a clearly vulnerable and distressed woman has been seeking support. A barrister that will be cross-examining that very woman!

If that is not an act of intimidation, to just let that poster know that Robin was watching her thread where she is updating on her case, then maybe Hearache can explain why not.

White also tweeted Allison Bailey before the trial as well.

But if posters are willing to also overlook all those statements being made by Stonewall representatives and still support 100% of what those people do, and Stonewall by extension, then the highly damaging actions such as intimidating a woman seeking to actually have her rape crisis centre provide her a female only single sex group for support by posting on her thread will be easy to dismiss as well.

Do you still 100% support Robin White, Hearache? And believe they are still 'excellent' and 'esteemed'?

I really think that Ben Cooper is a far more professional QC than White could ever hope to be.

If RMW is so keen to fix errors that might be professionally damaging they should be hurriedly working on a revised edition of their pisspoor book. www.legalfeminist.org.uk/2021/09/02/a-practical-guide/

TheBiologyStupid · 07/09/2022 14:25

Oops, that last post was intended for another thread.

Tallisker · 07/09/2022 14:28

Works on this one though Grin

Helleofabore · 07/09/2022 14:53

It does.

And RW's latest caper is just another way Stonewall and 'winning'.

Winners!

4YellowDaffodils · 07/09/2022 15:20

Thanks for linking to the other thread and detailing RMW's unprofessional behaviour. I have now gardened.

I am honestly shocked. I am a non-practicing solicitor and I have seen some dodgy and arrogant behaviour on the part of so-called professionals in my time, but this has really shocked me.

Yes, a bit of an IT and admin nightmare!

pattihews · 09/09/2022 11:05

Another here who can't believe that what RMW did is remotely acceptable. Don't know if we should be as surprised though. We all know that many TWs have absolutely no respect for women's boundaries — but professional boundaries are something else.

I will be contacting them.

Quite frankly, at the moment, any mention of piss and transitioned males at the moment, brings us back to the question 'did Stonewall support that piss protest'?

The one that will for a long time bring to attention transitioned males with piss fetishes to mainstream media?

Well done that protest group! I really don't think that Alex Sharpe calling everyone 'dullards' and trying to make out that this was 'art' will have quite the effect that Alex Sharpe (who is noted in court documents for doing volunteer work with Stonewall) wanted. But I am not sure that any person could really 'mop up' the damage done to the trans movement by the POTS (Pissed off Trannies according to the news sources).

And I think that it reflects poorly on Garden Court Chambers to have Alex Sharpe tweet they what they did.

Indeed - Sharpe was tweeting in support of action that was unlawful, worse than anything that Allison was investigated for.

Adding another ‘win’ for Stonewall to be watched for.

www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4630043-stonewall-advice-to-oxford-uni-dont-use-mother

So… who is advising Stonewall on whether they can take this direction ??

is it one of these supposed professional legal advisors that have been mentioned?

These steps too far are hardly progressing anyone’s interests. It is trying to force wishful thinking onto a society who doesn’t want words to be erased who have indicated it is acceptable to use additive language if pushed; but this erasure is not going to be accepted.

But hey, apparently Stonewall is winning.

Helleofabore · 09/09/2022 22:09

Just to clarify:

Oxford said it had ignored the advice to change its maternity policies. “While the university does consider the annual feedback from Stonewall, we have always treated any recommendations as advisory,” a spokesman said.

This is hardly a reputation building statement. Rather an indication that really Stonewall is not really considered a legal authority…

Yet some people insist they are winning… and that their reputation is glowing.

Helleofabore · 14/09/2022 08:54

Another 'win' for Stonewall. I mean, Social Work is merely changing to another provider, but it is not Stonewall who are getting the funds.

www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4633165-social-work-england-leaves-stonewall-diversity-champions

Still winning though, right?

And while I am missing Ben Cooper KC, I am quite enjoying the action of Akua Reindorf and Karon Monaghan KC this week.
