It makes their moods all over the place.

I mean us perimenopausal women take hrt for few other essential functions as well, but just as long as your moods are even mate.

Yes, we've had men and women post on this board that it's more difficult for men who have low testosterone and the related health issues from it to get a prescription for testosterone, than it seems to be for female transitioners.

Fairislefandango · 07/06/2022 16:03

So we are allowed to say that transwomen are biologically male (in certain kinds of discussion but not others? Confused), but not that they are men? Is that correct?

On the basis that the language used must be rooted in biological fact, let’s stop calling adoptive mothers mothers then shall we ?

Artichokeleaves · 07/06/2022 16:46

Oh don't be so silly. 🙄

Thank you. I don’t need to explain what I meant by tone now.

you came on the thread, implying that posters were saying that it was the fault of transwomen, when you realised you were wrong you tried to imply that someones ‘tone’ had suggested that

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 07/06/2022 17:22

Of course it doesn't. Men = male

not on planet mumsnet 😀

elferian · 07/06/2022 17:25

anyone who tries to say this thread is does not have a "tone" is gaslighting. it is obvious to any reasonable person reading this what the opinion of trans people is.

Artichokeleaves · 07/06/2022 17:31

Oh please do go scold Reddit and Twitter for their 'tone' and what any reasonable person reading there would think the opinion of female cervixy types not wanting their rights, language and spaces removed is!

You won't have to try and work out whether the tone crosses the line there though, the death threats, punching mentions, blood stained t shirts etc will help you reach conclusions fairly quickly.

I do apologise though if I'm not defending my rights naicely enough for your sensibilities.

MagnoliaTaint · 07/06/2022 17:33

The opinion of transpeople? How can you tell who on this thread is a transperson? Can you see into our souls, elferian?

elferian · 07/06/2022 17:34

i mean the opinion poster have of trans ppl

elferian · 07/06/2022 17:36

@Artichokeleaves so your view of over the line is death threats. nice.

MagnoliaTaint · 07/06/2022 17:38

There is a mash up of Tone Loc and the Troggs on YouTube. Quite clever.

That makes no sense. Adoptive mothers are fulfilling all of the ongoing things that mothers do; transwomen aren’t doing anything that makes someone a woman.

You are making a category error here, woman is to transwoman as pommel horse is to horse; the word is carrying out a completely separate purpose.

And then you said ‘don’t be so silly’ when I tried to raise a point. Can you even substantiate what you said above by quoting what I said? Or do you just gaslight and bully like a lot of men in my life have?

SlightlyGeordieJohn · 07/06/2022 17:44

elferian · 07/06/2022 15:47

This thread crosses the line from GC and protection of women to an argument akin to denying smokers cancer treatment. It is just short of outright bigotry and discrimination

That’s not true. I’m taking as truth what trans activists say that anyone can be a woman, and that being trans is not a psychological condition.

It follows from this that there is no medical need for hormones, as they are providing a purely cosmetic function.

It’d be different if they were being used to ameliorate a medical condition, as being trans was once claimed to be.

Yes, their opinion seems to be that they should be prescribed drugs on the NHS without being required a diagnosis of dysphoria, and without other treatments such as counseling being tried first.

It’s not tenable.

elferian · 07/06/2022 17:51

thanks for the lecture John.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 07/06/2022 17:58

nope

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 07/06/2022 17:59

And straight to the gaslighting and bullying…

becausetrampslikeus · 07/06/2022 18:01

Does anyone know where this thread was before the deterioration?

Is there something being obsfucated ( and does anyone know how to spell that word properly)

SlightlyGeordieJohn · 07/06/2022 18:03

elferian · 07/06/2022 17:51

thanks for the lecture John.

You’re welcome. You seem very confused by this subject. Your writing style suggests that you are both young and poorly educated; you’d do well to understand what this means in terms of your ability to follow.

nightwakingmoon · 07/06/2022 19:48

Oh the irony. I think anyone who equates the rather tame phrase “don’t be so silly” with “bullying” really does have a problem deciphering not just tone, but also context and perspective.

Someone disagreeing with you (pretty politely actually) on a message board on the internet is not “bullying”.

Hyperbolically claiming normal disagreement is “bullying”, is the kind of mendacious argument we have come to expect from transactivists, who are always very quick with the hyperbole, and quick to overreact and shout about “bullying” when anyone so much as simply disagrees with them. I might say I don’t much care for the sanctimonious “tone” of these hyperbolic accusations from some posters.

But; as you were….

Billi77 · 07/06/2022 19:19

What bullying?
Making a statement that you appear young and uneducated is just that persons opinion on your writing style "tone" and language.
It's an opinion I share with John.
But it doesn't hurt you that two randoms on the internet think this. We dont know you, we should mean nothing to you, our opinion of anything or anyone doesn't matter a jot.
