It makes their moods all over the place.

I mean us perimenopausal women take hrt for few other essential functions as well, but just as long as your moods are even mate.

@Waitwhat23

There are some very obvious concerns here and I can understand why a lot of this could be problematic.

I understand why you would want to fight against something like this. Especially the self id policy but that comes back to the idea of "A crossdresser who is a man". There is a big distinction between this type of person and a Trans person.

Anyone can say they are Trans to get out of a Rape accusation or be given a lower sentence or sent to a different prison etc... and unfortunately all Trans people get lumped into one giant group. It's like saying all men are sexist women hating bigots, it isn't true.

The very fact you have concerns would have you called a heretic by tw. Acceptance without exception was the mantra, I assume it's still the same.

Cross dressers are explicitly stated as being trans by stonewall. Go have a look at their umbrella that shows you who can be trans. So actually no distinction.

How will saying you are trans get you out of a rape accusation?
Why would tw need to go to a different prison? Unless you mean a trans prison set up which is fine by me.

And to repost my deleted post roughly cos I cant remember exactly what I put
I am worried about whether I will be able to get my next HRT prescription.
If what I use will be available, will I only get 2 weeks worth, can I afford it if I'm going to get 2 weeks at a time at two prescription charges each time.

And i suffer so much with the symptoms, brain fog, aching so much I can barely walk, flushes, did I say brain fog, without my prescription I will have to give up work, live on fresh air, (I do have a roof but it'll still be cold in winter) you cant claim benefits if you voluntarily leave your job. In short I am more important than transwomen <<<<< the bit that got me deleted. I used an appropriate but ultimately policed word.

nannyoggsunderboob · 05/06/2022 11:45

I'm on half measures at the moment. If i don't i will run out completely. Every time i go in the chemist I'm in a queue with at least 6 other women all in absolute desperation because they can't get any. And that's just one small pharmacy.

slowpoke I think you failed to see the point made in my last post - 'affirmation' reduces mental health rather than improving it as it requires trans people to live in a constant state of denial of reality. There can never be enough 'affirmation' - reality will always breakthrough and the more effort put into denying their sex the harder it will be when they realise they will always be the same sex they were conceived as. Lying by pretending they have now become a woman/man ultimately is harmful to them and to everyone else. They need proper mental health treatment not affirmation.

Nanny is it possible to double up on patches? I ask becasue my friend was prescibed 3 packs of Evorel 25 patches during the pandemic, which I understand is a low dosage, but hasn't bothered using them. If you are normally on Evorel 50 can you use 2 X Evorel 25 instead? Does that work? She's wondering if she can donate them anywhere?

i'd no idea there was a resource like this out there. I'm now just waiting for my application to join to be approved.

Thanks x

For the last time Cis is not a derogatory term, Cis is short for Cisgendered and it is a term used to distinguish the term without me having to say "Not a Trans Women" to explain myself

There is a perfectly acceptable way to describe "cis" women. It's women. How easy is that? Just "women"

You don't have to type a pointless word out to make us a subset of our own sex class- as you keep pointing out transwomen make up a small proportion of the population- they are the subset.

We'll have the word "women" and transwomen can have the word "transwomen". Do you see how very easy that is? How much clearer everything becomes?

MagnoliaTaint · 05/06/2022 12:30

Yep. Women are women.

Transwomen are transwomen - males who take steps to 'transition'.

Fairislefandango · 05/06/2022 12:32

For the last time Cis is not a derogatory term

You don't get to decide what other people consider a derogatory term. Hth.

CupidStunt22 · 05/06/2022 12:38

For the last time Cis is not a derogatory term

Did you ACTUALLY try to mansplain what are offensive terms about women, TO women?

WTAF is wrong with you?

We do not need the term "cis" to distinguish us, as there is nothing to distinguish. Women are women: adult human females.

Transwomen are not. We do not need an additional term to distinguish between transwomen and women, as you can clearly see we already have two different words for the two very different categories.

Using an unnecessary term to describe women when those women have asked you not to IS OFFENSIVE. So stop it.

Artichokeleaves · 05/06/2022 12:45

My friend uses the female toilets and will continue to use them. I wont convince her otherwise because I know she isn't a threat to anyone.

And every time your friend does what suits them best despite it meaning them invading a female only space, they exclude females. Your friend has another sex based option. Those other females have nowhere else to go. And because your friend feels entitled to meet their own needs and exclude and disrespect females, and enforce male entitlement over female access and equality and more vulnerable females - not very sisterly or kind really - Karen White and other males who are a threat, have hurt females.

So no. I'm not supporting that. Your friend is being exceptionally selfish and exerting privilege at the expense of females and so are you. This is male supremacism, it's not anything progressive or positive.

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I've been given Evorel 50 as a swap for my sandrena by the pharmacist. I'm just as confused as any perimenopausal woman right now! I've been told that a daily patch is the equivalent of 2 x 0.5mg sandrena or 2 x oestrogel even though it quite clearly states on the box that one patch delivers 0.5mg in 24 hours! Honestly we shouldn't have to be second guessing medication like... gp doesn't seem to understand dosing either. These shortages are causing terrible issues for women.

Artichokeleaves · 05/06/2022 12:47

And I would not see it as for me to 'convince' anyone of anything I wanted them to do - beyond rude.

However I could not be friends with a male regardless of identity who exerted this power and selfish 'I want so I will, and fuck females and the less powerful and privileged than me, and what I do to them by taking what I want' behaviour.

@Pennox yes you can use x2 25s if 50s aren’t available. However it’s not recommended to donate prescribed medication and any returned to a pharmacy is destroyed.

GarageGalore · 05/06/2022 13:04

Lol I've just read through ones that I missed from today to find out your are in fact a man. That explains EVERYTHING about why you have no knowledge about female issues
