It makes their moods all over the place.

I mean us perimenopausal women take hrt for few other essential functions as well, but just as long as your moods are even mate.

It's amazing how quickly people can jump to conclusions about something without considering the facts.

Disclaimer: You should not blindly trust the Daily Mail. I'm only including these sources because if your taking these sources as fact then it doesn't even support the argument you are trying to make.

HRT Prescriptions have soared recently, surely trans people are to blame?
Prescriptions have soared from 300k to 600k since 2020 (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-10754073/HRT-shortage-drugs-rationed-menopausal-women.html). Now consider the similar article that directly targets trans women (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-10881403/Number-trans-people-receiving-NHS-treatment-rises-75-five-years-amid-national-HRT-shortage.html)
Consider that the article states 1500 trans people where on HRT in 2021, so that's about 0.375% of the total amount of prescriptions given out when compared for the same year.
Keep in mind that figure is so low because most trans people get HRT from outside sources because the waiting list for the NHS is about 3 years now and you are not guaranteed a prescription. I know a friend who was rejected there first prescription after 3 years because she turned up to an appointment and looked to masculine. IE wasn't wearing a dress.

Women experience a lot more pain in there lives
Whilst obviously pregnancy and periods are specific to Cis Women there is the claim that trans women don't also suffer discrimination, sexual assault and go through the same kind of distressing puberty. Keep in mind that taking HRT is basically like going through a 2nd puberty and the first puberty was likely a lot more traumatic than a Cis Women's. A lot of trans women discuss wanting to cut their genitals off after going through puberty because of the gender dysphoria they suffer.
The risk of sexual assault is no lower for a trans women, in-fact it may be higher.
(https://www.fear2freedom.org/bethechangeblog/2020/6/26/transgender-people-of-color-and-sexual-violence) coupled with the thought that trans women are often not treated like real women so when they ask to get help they are often ignored.

and no i'm not Trans. I happen to have a Trans friend and they have shared some of there experiences with me. I feel like maybe if you just talked to other Trans Women in a respectful manner you might learn something

Not sure where you're getting the impression that Tw have anything to do with the shortage of HRT from.

Seems quite reasonable for women to be frustrated by the share of HRT and query why when there are medical shortages, why should these medicines be diverted to people who have no medical need for them?

DodoPatrol · 04/06/2022 16:24

You're probably right that transwomen are not contributing significantly to the HRT shortage, Slowpoke.

Couldn't tell you who 'experiences more pain in their lives' because everyone's different. Transwomen's pain is male pain, women's pain female pain, neither of us can experience the other's. Hope your friend is OK -- and also that they have some empathy with women, even if they can only ever have a partial view of womanhood.

JellySaurus · 04/06/2022 16:25

Shortage of HRT, not share of. Though it's not an entirely inappropriate typo.

luciatrope · 04/06/2022 16:31

Bless.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 16:42

@DodoPatrol Very true. Everyone experiences pain differently as well and what might be traumatic to one person might be fine for another.

From what my trans friend has mentioned they don't think negatively of women at all, in-fact part of the reason they became trans is social, they get along better with most other women, able to talk about hobbies, interests that are typically more feminine. I remember her mentioning the worst thing she ever had to go through, even through all the abuse she has experienced was to have her own mother rejecting her and refusing to use the pronouns she identified with.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 16:48

and to continue the last message because I understand it might seem like an attack the reason it mattered so much is because Mums mean a lot. I love my Mum and sometimes Trans Women become Trans Women because they had a bad male role model in there life, not always but it is surprisingly common

bhdsjhbs · 04/06/2022 16:48

To be fair I take mine for moods too. Feel psychotic without HRT.

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 16:49

They transitioned so they could talk to women about girlie things?

Wow. I actually want to beat my own head with a wrench after reading that. How fucking asinine

Titsflyingsouth · 04/06/2022 16:53

Silently fuming.

Trans women don't take HRT for starters. HRT is REPLACEMENT therapy. You can replace what wasn't there to start with....

bellinisurge · 04/06/2022 17:01

Fuck 'em.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:02

They transitioned so they could talk to women about girlie things? @Belovedfool
Well no it's a combination of things obviously. For most Trans Women it includes how they look Physically, there own name, how they speak, how they are seen by other women, not associating with characteristics typically accompanied by men, such as aggressiveness, competitiveness. Obviously these are not exclusive to men but they are typically more prominent.

Having said that it can be purely social, a lot of Trans Women never transition physically. If you have no objection to Tomboys and(or) Trans Men I don't understand why it's any different for Trans Women

JellySaurus · 04/06/2022 17:10

Sorry, but if your sense of self as a person is dependent upon how others see you and talk about you, then what you need is psychiatry, not HRT.

If you have no objection to Tomboys and(or) Trans Men I don't understand why it's any different for Trans Women

Tomboys and transmen cannot rape me.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:11

If the point you're trying to make though is that Trans Women introduce a stereotype of women, in other words a barbie doll type persona i'd argue that really isn't true.

In-fact i'd argue the only reason they have to act in such a way is to appease other Cis Women and Men into passing so they don't get miss gendered.

I don't know anyway, this has gone past the original topic, if your interested Gender - A Graphic Guide Is a really good short explanation of some of these concepts.
I'm certain that your minds are already made up so it wont make a difference but it's worth a try lol

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 17:12

If they don't transition physically, and it's "only social", why do they feel they should be taking cross sex hormones?

They don't need them, do they?

If it's not physical, they can just do without the stuff and leave it for the women who actually need it, can't they.

You've actually said that.

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 17:13

Ps they never pass. Never.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:18

@JellySaurus What do you even mean by that? What just because someone doesn't have a dick they can't rape someone else.
Not to mention your excluding Trans Women who had surgery for their genitals.

SpindleForTheWorld · 04/06/2022 17:22

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 16:48

and to continue the last message because I understand it might seem like an attack the reason it mattered so much is because Mums mean a lot. I love my Mum and sometimes Trans Women become Trans Women because they had a bad male role model in there life, not always but it is surprisingly common

Goodness me.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:27

@Belovedfool Well yes your right, a lot of Trans Women don't take HRT. Some transition socially or decide to identify as non-binary or simply just crossdress for fun.

What's kind of funny though is if you say they never pass what are you even worried about, if you can always tell who is Trans and who isn't then in your mind you know who you want to avoid.

Finally, as I mentioned before the amount of Trans Women taking HRT was about 0.375% of the total percentage in 2021 and the Daily Mail managed to directly contradict it's own statistics on the subject.

Belovedfool · 04/06/2022 17:27

So...to go back to the original post, there's a severe shortage of HRT and I personally believe that anyone taking it for non medical reasons should have it stopped immediately. This would allow those who do need it for medical reasons to obtain it.

To do otherwise is inhuman.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 17:30

@Belovedfool Why is taking HRT for Trans Women a "non medical reason".
Given that Trans Women with Gender Dysphoria are twice as likely to commit suicide due to Gender Dysphoria and discrimination.

Could you stop calling us Cis women please? It's really offensive. You sound like someone who would go out of their way to use the terms people choose for themselves, so maybe you could do that for all of us that reject the term CIS?

Thanks
