@Hoardasurass - good point., transwomen with GRCs are considered women by law (equality act 2010) so they would be counted in womens stats, unless they've been ignored completely because since 2004 only 4900 have ever been issued (out of 60 million population).
Hope its ok to say the following - it would be interesting to compare stats before people could declare themselves as transwomen without question, (it is like self ID is already here) to see what male % was. Is the transwomen % high because men are identifying to try to get put in a female prison so they can offend? Cases on a search back this up - eg a judge basically said "you are manipulative deceitful trying any way you can to get into womens only spaces to assault them (this was a legal bearded male, rapist of women & young boys without any modification at all to his body)" If self ID happens when no one can be challenged, this is a big worry for trans people because it misrepresents transwomen. If i were trans i would be worried. I don't believe someone genuinely living as a woman, dedicating themselves to the time necessary within our present system to obtain a GRC etc, would do this. The transwomen i know are very gentle kind and as horrified as we are at these crimes (& they say they know they are male & can't change their sex completely). I've lived 6 decades before really noticing this gender talk so am still a bit dazed by it all, first noticed when a female relative declared herself non-binary just before becoming pregnant. I've been looking at the actual law - nowhere does it state you must call someone by their correct gender but ppl have been arrested for doing this which is scary. Equality law 2010 - sex as in male and female is mentioned, but not gender - but out of common courtesy and respect if a meet someone who looks like a she, I’ll naturally refer to her as she!
