What is a female gender identity?

pitterpatterrain · 15/03/2021 18:45

I dream of a future when putting people into socially defined boxes goes away

What are you transitioning too and from?

Oh yeah. A bunch of stereotyped rubbish.

Shizuku · 15/03/2021 18:46

@334bu

Sorry board moving too fast Transgirl hasn't gone through puberty.
When she does, it will be an estrogen puberty. The other girls will be fine.

What is this durable biological element?

334bu · 15/03/2021 18:47

Estrogen puberty???

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 15/03/2021 18:47

You're not listening - almost all trans people will happily tell you that gender identity and gendered behaviour are 2 different things. People like Katy Montgomerie and Paris Lees say it over and over again

I couldn't found much on Katy Montgomery's history but this from Paris Lees is interesting (and very sad):

Daren [their father] had made me gather up all my “girl” toys and put them in a box when I was sent to live with him. The boy-toys could stay – Pirate Lego and Mighty Max – but the Polly Pockets and Disney dolls had to go.

He humiliated me for “walking like a poof” and gave me clips round the earhole for “talking like a pansy”. If I was naughty it was worse. Even if I was good it wasn’t much better – he forced me to try football and boxing and killing foxes with his macho mates and I hated all of it

WarriorN · 15/03/2021 18:48

So at age 12 this almost teen started using the girls changing rooms?

Really? With periods and everything? Wow amazing! How do you know the other girls will be fine? I bet they won't be showering in front of her when they're all 16... but who care about them huh?

Shizuku · 15/03/2021 18:48

@Juliesipadwillcallyouback

Having a gender identity that doesn't match the sex she was assigned at birth.

What is a gender identity? What is a 'girl gender identity'? What is a 'boy gender identity'? How does one measure gender identity? What would be the criteria for knowing that a male child has a girl gender identity, what sort of boxes would need to be ticked?

Mysterious isn't it? What are all the thousands of doctors and scientists, millions of trans people, and billions of people who don't happen to be trans (if only there was a word for that) talking about?

‘ estrogen puberty’ - there is no such thing.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 15/03/2021 18:49

Utter fantasy!

Oh, I know what you really mean, a male puberty blocked by cross sex hormones.

But you also know how devastating on the human body that is. For life.

Which is why they are banned in this country for children 16 and under.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/03/2021 18:49

I'm not aware of girls having any issues with having trans classmates, and nor should they. In a mixed sex school, the classroom isn't a single sex environment.

But we do know that all girls are not happy with the wishes of trans pupils overriding their needs, for the needs of girls to be completely overlooked.

There is no way she is getting naked in a shower with other girls. Have you any idea how desperately self conscious about their bodies trans girls are?

This particular transgirl seems to be all about the gendered behaviour?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 15/03/2021 18:50

Ha ha ha. Very good!

CardinalLolzy · 15/03/2021 18:50

Having a gender identity that doesn't match the sex she was assigned at birth.

So can you set out clearly which gender identity matches with which sex?
Otherwise it's a bit like saying they have a fruit that doesn't match their vegetable - what are the paired sets of gender identity and sex?
Surely you're not saying a feminine gender identity matches a female sex and a masculine gender identity matches a male sex?

Or are you saying gender identity and sex are the same thing?

Magical Thinking.

WarriorN · 15/03/2021 18:51

Yes and the appropriate place for a child struggling with their identity and body is a separate toilet. That's what we've done in the past and the child was happiest doing that.

Exactly - so she's clearly opposed to imposing stereotypes right rather than letting a child play how they want, right?

I'm a bit confused because OP seems to be using the terms female/male and man/woman in different contexts. For example, "female gender identity." Female and male are typically used to refer to sex, not gender, so it may help if you could keep your terms accurate. It seems like you keep redefining things to be more referring to sex than to gender identity and then circling back around and claiming others are misunderstanding you when they point out that the way you are phrasing things does not reflect reality.

Sometimes I feel like these problems could be resolved if more people accepted the term "trans masc" and "trans femme" instead. I have seen them growing in popularity slightly in non-binary communities. We cannot change sex.

everythingthelighttouches · 15/03/2021 18:52

OP, you’re the one who has been talking about barbie dolls and you have posted a video where the trans child lists gender stereotypes.

It is interesting that you have found a passing reference to trans tomboys, but that really isn’t the main narrative is it??

You didn’t answer my question before but this really gets to the point you’re making with trans tomboys (I think).

In a child of the age that typically plays with barbies dolls, what is the difference between gendered behaviour and gender identity??

WarriorN · 15/03/2021 18:53

There isn't; hence inventing transgender children....
