You know, I'm not sure there's any point trying to argue with someone who thinks biological sex is an irrelevant factor in understanding sex-based discrimination.

It's so far divorced from reality, I don't think you could even begin to have a conversation.

Though quite what such a person thinks is the basis of sex based discrimination, is a bit of a mystery.

Quite simply if the biology at birth matched their gender there would be no problem. Everyone would be happy and no need for GC.

Gender is a social construct and has nothing to do with biology.

I was just trying to say that people make such a big deal about biology but biology fucks up sometimes and then you use that faulty biology to define people.

If you knew anything about biology you would know that chromosomal and genetic variation is the basis for the evolution of species.

Your brain is part of your body. It's not possible to have a brain in the wrong sex body from a scientific point of view. You are describing your own subjective experience which might help you to make sense of your own feelings, but there is no objective scientific evidence for this.

It is possible to not identify with the stereotypes imposed on you because of your sex.

It is possible to feel revulsion about part of your body, or a feeling that it doesn't belong to you. This is a psychological or neurological disorder.

But wrong-sexed brain for your body? Not literally possible.

Then explain what gender is without using stereotypes

Gender is created by society. A baby isn't born knowing that pink=girl, they learn that from the environment. Gender changes over time and place and is subjective

What do you mean by this? It reads as though you are arguing for everyone to conform to the regressive gender stereotypes for their sex.

I thought it had already been established that the brain is plastic and is constantly rewiring itself and changing. So how would that fit in with boy brains/girl brains?

I was actually waiting for someone to come back with it just means they were born to be taxi drivers but I like this one slightly better .

So as long as I would be prepared to act how other people think I should act then there would be no need for Me to be GC

By that argument there would be no need for trans people either

Because both GC and trans are suffering from the constraints of gender particaulrky when they don't express the societally correct gender for their sex

The primary difference between GC and trans is that GC people think there is nothing wrong with them and that other people should just accept everyone how they are, whilst transpeople seem to believe that their body is wrong, that there is something that needs to be fixed ( ie changed ) about them

The idea that identity can match biology is subjective and doesn’t negate the fact that humans born with female biology need specific rights, protections and services regardless of their identity.

To protect those rights and services we need language that defines sex.

Basic biology. Variation is a consequence of sexual reproduction and gives animals so reproduced something of an evolutionary advantage. Which is why mammals have evolved to be the “top” phylum (?) in taxonomic and evolutionary terms.

Lots of plants reproduce sexually too.

And some animals can reproduce by pathnogenesis, which why your plants can be infested with aphids so quickly in spring.

Just to be clear, humans can’t reproduce by pathnogenesis.

But I believe in the exact opposite because of my own experiences. I believe what makes ME female is my biology. My body. And nothing else.

I can respect your beliefs without agreeing with them. Can you do the same?
