I really have to impress on everyone just how important it is to get out and vote Labour. The Tories have done nothing for anyone other than their rich buddies, and our present PM is a sexist bigot. Please vote Labour to save the NHS. Please.

OP posts:

Vote in your seat for the party that will keep the Tories/Brexit Party/DUP out

Because those three parties might be honest about their desire to fuck over women, but that doesn't change the fact they will screw over women and they'll only listen to men

Labour might suck, but at least there's an outside chance they'll listen to women

Really it's a case of what do you want?

Vote Tory/DUP/Brexit/UKIP knowing that women will be sold out by that vote, do nothing knowing that doing nothing sells out women, or voting to keep them out with at least the hope that the MP you've voted in will listen to us rather than pat us on the head and tell us to go off and bake an apple turnover for the WI fair?

Chiochan · 29/11/2019 20:13

Momentum have put up a handy explainer of all the great policies that Labour have in their manifesto, its great.

But, whats this...they seem to have fogotten to include all the great feminist policies Labour have committed to, maternaty leave and making misognyistic attacks a hate crime being but two of many.

Why, its almost as if Momentum hates women, and are angry that Labour have backtracked on self ID in to womens spaces?

but, but, I thought trans issues are nothing to do with womens rights, and people supporting them have nothing to do with misogyny?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 29/11/2019 20:19

I will not be voting labour, their manifesto is a mess and contradicts itself for one thing.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 29/11/2019 20:20

Labour might suck, but at least there's an outside chance they'll listen to women

What gives you that idea?

BovaryX · 29/11/2019 20:30

Zenith? Nadir more like if that’s your pitch....

poshme · 29/11/2019 20:47

Labour - the party which say that self ID is ok?

No thanks

poshme · 29/11/2019 20:49

Labour- the party of Dawn Butler, who doesn't understand the equalities act? That the law ALLOWS single sex spaces? FOR A REASON

Voice0fReason · 29/11/2019 20:57

I hope that enough people vote against the Tories so we end up with a hung parliament as that is the only thing that might get both Corbyn and Johnson (and maybe even Swinson) to resign.

WhereYouLeftIt · 29/11/2019 21:06

I. DON'T. TRUST. LABOUR.

So fuck off Zenith, you are not the boss of me.

theflushedzebra · 29/11/2019 21:08

Why do you think Labour have never had a female Leader?

I am a Labour vote normally, but I don't think Corbyn would make a good PM.

And they'll bring in self ID which itself will eliminate women's rights - how are they women's rights, if anyone can identify as a woman and claim them?

Milanimilani · 29/11/2019 21:28

Hung Parliament being good? Things went to hell in a handbasket last time we had one of those.

LangCleg · 29/11/2019 21:32

Dear goddess. You couldn't even be arsed to give it a feminist twist, OP. That's how friendly to women even you know the current iteration of the Labour Party to be.

I'll vote for whomever I fucking well like for whatever reason I fucking well like, thanks.

Clue: it won't be Tory.

Signed

Lang - fully-paid up member of the Labour Party for more than twenty years of the sshh not telling you years she's lived on this planet. But not this year.

TinaBarrow · 29/11/2019 21:46

I was Labour/Green. Now nobody to vote for. Head says vote tactically, heart says none of the fuckers deserves my precious vote.
This is my conclusion after a conversation with the Labour candidate who believes there are more than just two sexes and that males should be assessed for access to womens spaces on a case by case basis, because "women can be violent too". I am convinced that they don't understand the difference between sex and gender in the law and are not to be trusted. Sorry.

BrokenBrit · 29/11/2019 22:00

Vote to get the tories out on behalf of the more than a hundred thousand people who have died as a result of austerity.
Vote to stop Johnson sending us to hell in a handcart while he sips champagne and calls our children ‘aggressive and illiterate’.
Vote to help save our NHS and give our kids a decent education and help all families out of poverty.
Then, when this divided and fractured society has retreated from the brink of disaster, then, you can fight for your ideologies. But for now, I agree with the OP.

UrsulaPandress · 29/11/2019 22:03

I am sick to fucking death of people on here and on Facebook telling me who I should vote for.

Just go away.

OhHolyJesus · 29/11/2019 23:37

Oh Jeremy, honestly...if only you had listened to us...

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 01:25

Is this some sort of "charm" offensive - on behalf of Jeremy Corbyn? "Get on SM and push positive on Corbyn" ?

Agree with you on Austerity and Johnson -but I don't recognise the names of the posters doing the party political broadcast on behalf of the Labour Party?!

Women here know what Labour will do to women's rights. Labour will give them to males.

JanesKettle · 30/11/2019 01:55

Women's rights should be an esssential part of the plaform of any Labor movement.

Don't tell UK women that their rights are just an 'ideology' that can be fought for after the more important stuff it done. It's not the fault of UK women that Labor has forgotten what class analysis is.

Leftist women who uphold the sex-based rights of girls and women don't need to be chivied by others into considering the harsh voting choices they have in front of them. They're not zealots - they are capable of thinking about austerity AND women's rights.

JanesKettle · 30/11/2019 01:58

You, OP are doing the same thing people are doing to British Jews - telling them that their 'silly little ideologies' must be put aside until after a Labor win.

Women's rights, Jewish rights - if you don't have women and Jews onboard by now, it's because you, Labor, did not work nearly hard enough in opposition to uphold their rights and dignity.

Don't think that putting responsiblity for election results on their shoulders will do you any good at all.

Pixxie7 · 30/11/2019 02:34

It’s seems to me that if nobody voted for either they might get the message.

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/11/2019 02:48

Pixxie my thoughts exactly.
I would love it if EVERY MP standing for re-election lost their seats.

Fallingirl · 30/11/2019 02:55

Labour has told us loud and clear that they don’t want our votes.

They know they are pushing women who care about women away. This should never have been a moral dilemma for left wing women. This is a dilemma that Labour has created, because we don’t matter to them.

They are banking on women caving in and voting for them anyway, through gritted teeth, just to give some men a nicer life. Same as we always have.

In my view, the only way to make any politicians give a damn about women and girls, is to refuse to take yet another one for the team.

Labour could so very easily have our votes, but they don't want them enough to promise not to remove the very few protections we have.

We are not even asking for conditions to be improved for women and girls; we are only asking for the satus quo to remain. But not even that are they willing to give us.

And it will hit the most vulnerable women the hardest. The wealthier can afford private healthcare, where they are likely to be allowed to ask for female hcp’s. The wealthier are unlikely to ever go to prison. The wealthier are unlikely to be held in secure psychiatric units. The wealthier are less likely to use community leisure centres with mixed sex changing rooms.

Only the better off women can afford a Labour government.

SugarPlumFairyCakes · 30/11/2019 07:31

How dare anyone call Women's Rights an ideology! I'm not taking scraps from any. Parties table after the election, that way women and girls will just be screwed even more. Nah - none of them are getting my vote and I'm a life long left wing, old mining town, working class person.
Totally alienated from all the parties - none of them represent my values and ethics anymore, nor do they of any women I know.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 30/11/2019 07:43

On one side Laura Pidcock is saying that Labour will protect women’s sex-based rights by reinforcing the single sex exemptions in the Equality Act. On the other, Dawn Brent & LGBT Labour are shouting out that it’s not true. It’s ridiculous.

TiredofthisBS · 30/11/2019 07:44

A party can't just treat women like shit on the bottom of their shoe, allowing all sorts of abuse and demonisation (including ignoring the disgusting behaviour of party activists outside the WPUK Brighton meeting and the constant bullying and anti-semitism) then hold out the tiniest most pathetic begrudging of carrots of 'look what will do to save single sex spaces, we like women really and we're really sorry for not liking the Jews' and then beg people to vote for them.

They had their chance, they blew it. I will not vote for labour until they get adults back in charge of the party and abandon gender ideology.

So no, they don't get my vote. They can't be trusted.
