I didn't think it was possible for political discourse to get more divisive and extreme in a civilized society, but Frances Carmel Hoole, who apparently standing for election, tweeted a meme of herself threatening Joanna Cherry with a spray bottle of bleach and the term T*RF.

She has deleted it and is now complaining about the sound condemnation she is receiving on Twitter. I need to get a hammock for my face to help with the continual dropping of my jaw.

Wow! I can't believe that. That's the first time Labour have taken any of these complaints seriously.

RoyalCorgi · 07/11/2019 12:49

That is excellent news. I don't see that they had a choice, really. Corbyn is supposed to be all about a "kinder, gentler" politics, and the Labour Party's own social media guidelines make it very clear that personal abuse is not allowed.

ChipOnMyOvary · 07/11/2019 12:51

Fantastic!

AnyOldPrion · 07/11/2019 12:51

Course it’s a woman that they finally removed.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 12:52

So when can we expect to see the others get their marching orders? The ones that Jeremy is usually photographed cosying up to?

Or is it just those who a... I can't say it can I?

theflushedzebra · 07/11/2019 12:57

That's good - I mean it was stupid and immature to post it, and that person clearly lacks the judgement to be an SMP.

I'm hoping Joanna keeps her seat - she is an absolute ambassador for women.

This though from Hoole: She said: “You’re not defending women’s rights unless you defend trans rights.

We really need to knock this narrative on the head - Emma Watson said it too in the PL interview.

It's ridiculous - because the reality is if you support the trans rights that are being demanded now (self ID, transwomen being treated exactly as biological women in the law) - you are elevating the rights of transwomen above the needs of women and girls.

Support trans rights all you want, but you can't call it feminism.

Ereshkigal · 07/11/2019 13:00

We really need to knock this narrative on the head - Emma Watson said it too in the PL interview.

It's nonsense. "You're not saving the Tigers unless you also save whales".

Ereshkigal · 07/11/2019 13:01

Or is it just those who a... I can't say it can I?

Probably not, but I think we all know what you mean.

Siameasy · 07/11/2019 13:13

Good news altho yes I did think well females are more expendable

This soundbite - because that’s all it is “you’re not defending women’s rights unless...” I agree needs to be robustly challenged every time it’s trotted out. Ask the sayer to explain what it means

GeordieTerf · 07/11/2019 13:19

Great news, and a really good article too. Smile

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:27

And they are a 'care and support worker' - really? Sounds like they aren't very mature.

theflushedzebra · 07/11/2019 13:27

Really good point about Labour being quick to give an adult human female the boot.

They don't act so quickly (or at all) against the men (and I mean men! the beardy wokebros) in Labour who have been abusing women for months and years, keeping lists of "terfs" etc. No action taken against them.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 07/11/2019 13:28

It seems to me that she has gone because this would be a 'distraction' rather than because threatening people with bleach is fucking outrageous.

But yes. Possibly progress.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:33

Can I revise that? I read to the bottom.

'Here’s to them both tasting the rainbow on 12th December.” (boak - what is she, 12 years of age?)

Hoole, a graduate of Labour Jo Cox leadership programme (WHAAATTTTTT?), then claimed she didn’t “perceive” the image as a threat (She is a fool then - change one four letter T word to another one and she would be crying).

She said: “You’re not defending women’s rights unless you defend trans rights (gimme a break love). Please respect what you are being told by advocacy groups (yes because it is a civilised debate). You should never receive abuse or threats (lies). Not from me or anyone else (more lies).

“I didn’t perceive this as a threat so I apologise I didn’t see it that way.” (and im going to skewwm and skweem until i am sick).

Her little mates who egged her one aren't going to be so friendly now that she isn't a high falutin' politics lady now are they?

GCAcademic · 07/11/2019 13:34

It seems to me that she has gone because this would be a 'distraction' rather than because threatening people with bleach is fucking outrageous.

Yes, I thought that. Plus, it's funny how she is only "genuinely sorry" now that her candidacy has been removed. She was somewhat sorry-not-sorry before that.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:40

She was rather unapologetic before. Maybe big man told her off.

RoyalCorgi · 07/11/2019 13:46

They don't act so quickly (or at all) against the men (and I mean men! the beardy wokebros) in Labour who have been abusing women for months and years, keeping lists of "terfs" etc. No action taken against them.

Indeed. When you think of the number of complaints that have been made against Madigan, with no action taken, it's pretty depressing. Sometimes they even investigate the person who's made the complaint because they have committed the crime of "misgendering".

I think in a general election, they have to sack someone who says things like this. You do hold parliamentary candidates to a higher standard as a rule.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:52

I wonder if the irony is lost on her/him/them?

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 07/11/2019 15:26

Is pingu happy that he got her sacked?

Gingerkittykat · 07/11/2019 15:28

I just came to find this thread to post the article.

Good news, and as for women being expendable it seems like it is women who are often the most vocal about hating T*erfs.

lionheart · 07/11/2019 15:32

That's good. The LibDems, judging by the other thread, are not for turning.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 15:50

The 'piss off you bigot' reply one I just saw on Twitter?

backaftera2yearbreak · 07/11/2019 16:42

I was just coming to share this. Great news. Joanna and the team in her office are wonderful. I require their assistance on a professional level occasionally

lionheart · 07/11/2019 17:03

Is it the same as this Lord?

'Piss off you bigot' seems to be the default for those who have not paid attention.

Or have and don't give a toss about women, or children, or young trans people.
