Did anyone see it?
She was there to discuss the LGBT sandwich in M&S, however she began speaking about the erasure of lesbians at pride and ended by shouting out to viewers to google the cotton ceiling.
Worth a watch
Well done Sonia

What's the LGBT sandwich in M&S?

Thingybob · 06/05/2019 11:45

The interview is here already

Wow well done Sonia
#Get the lettuce out

Genderfreelass · 06/05/2019 11:48

Oh wow telling everyone about the cotton ceiling - Sonia is wonderful for doinf this!

TigerCubScout · 06/05/2019 11:49

Just googled the sandwich - they should have added quinoa for the Q. Bit transphobic to leave them out.

BuzzPeakWankBobbly · 06/05/2019 11:54

What the fuck is a "former food consultant" and why does this person think that being able to buy a sandwich with a rainbow flag on it is so meaningful?

I also await the outrage because the QIA+++ weren't included

maslinpan · 06/05/2019 11:58

Well, at least the former food consultant was female and an out lesbian, which makes a change. Hopefully Sonia will have reached a whole new audience, she got loads of key points out there really well!

GCAcademic · 06/05/2019 12:06

Good for her. But what's the betting TM double down and schedule a whole fortnight of TRA indoctination now?

Sonia was great.
Melissa and Sonia trying to have a serious discussion and then Eamonn interrupted to say 'I'm just going to eat the sandwich'. What a wally!

DpWm · 06/05/2019 12:13

Thingybob thanks for the link!

Whatisthisfuckery · 06/05/2019 12:16

DP had one of these sandwiches last week. Predictably there was tons of tomato but not much lettuce. What’s more the tomatoes were really strong and overpowered everything else and it was swimming in guacamole.

Slumcat · 06/05/2019 12:17

I got the feeling the woman she was paired with was on board with Sonia, not about the sandwich, but when She asked if she was aware of “get the L out” and mentioned homophobia in stonewall, she nodded But made no comment in defence

Handsoff I agree with your while post.

No she never mentioned penis, in fact I think she actually swerved saying it and quickly said something else.

It was on in the background and I could here it and want and stood and watched it - surprised really that she had a bloody good run at it. I bet the producers where thinking ‘shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit’

Yes Eamon tried to get ‘confused’ - again.

Well done Sonia!

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 06/05/2019 12:18

Sonia: "This movement is homophobic. Men are calling themselves lesbians and demanding to sleep with lesbians. That is rape culture and we should all be shouting against it."

Melissa: "Yeh but how do you represent that message with a sandwich though?"

I saw and enjoyed it immensely

Cottonwoolmouth · 06/05/2019 12:18

I think she was scared to comment tbh.

Datun · 06/05/2019 12:22

She was clearly determined to get some of that information out. Telling viewers to google the cotton ceiling as her opening remark was a master stroke.

I couldn't help feeling though, as soon as it became clear what she was actually talking about, the Twilight zone took over. The conversation was not going to be allowed to go that way, everything started to veer into jokey banter to desperately avoid the subject.

She did really well to talk about lesbian erasure, without mentioning trans until near the end.

And she reiterated several times that why is it wrong to say lesbians are same-sex attracted.

Well done to her.

DpWm · 06/05/2019 12:22

Sonia doesn't say"penis" but she does say Pride are supporting Rape Culture.

Most people new to the whole thing would just be thinking WTF but at least it got aired.

I’m wondering if she had this planned and was waiting for a foot in the door because when she started she let rip.

I can just imagine the producers shouting ‘eamon eat the sandwich! Camera 4 on the sandwich! Rochelle EAT the sandwich!! Grin

Slumcat · 06/05/2019 12:34

That’s what I was thinking, I was half expecting this to pop up

Well I know it’s not the point of the thread but I think the sandwich is excluding vegans and therefore the sandwich, and M & S, is bigoted and hateful for excluding certain members of LGBT from this sandwich celebration thingie. Fuck them.

Cottonwoolmouth · 06/05/2019 12:44

Slum brilliant Grin

MenuPlant · 06/05/2019 12:45

I thought eamon had previously said that lesbians should be down with dick?
