Did anyone see it?
She was there to discuss the LGBT sandwich in M&S, however she began speaking about the erasure of lesbians at pride and ended by shouting out to viewers to google the cotton ceiling.
Worth a watch
Well done Sonia

The summary of Haddock's word salad - she told millions of viewers about the rapey shit we pull! And that we really do believe the primary purpose of a woman's sexuality is to validate and include men!

Remember, negative publicity is transphobic, particularly if it's true.

being called transphobic is an indication that you are ethical, respect boundaries, are concerned about individual rights and children's safeguarding and are prepared to identify predators when you see them.

This. Really, seriously, this. We're reaching the point where anyone not being called transphobic needs to take a very serious look at what they're supporting.

NeurotrashWarrior · 06/05/2019 21:08

Oh wow that was amazing!

Looking forward to her documentary.

Well Done Sonia! I'm glad I watched; I'd been avoiding this morning as it's often a damp squib.

Presenters massively derailing and gaslighting her as if nothing was the matter.

Redshoeblueshoe · 06/05/2019 21:09

TinselAngel if you follow the link on the first page you can just watch the relevant part.
I hope that makes sense

DpWm · 06/05/2019 21:10

Tinsel
Poulton urges viewers to Google "Cotton Ceiling" about 30 seconds in, total clip is about 7 mins. It's all relevant.
The lesbian former food consultant seems a bit bemused, repeats "but it's just a sandwich. The sandwich is good!" A lot.

NeurotrashWarrior · 06/05/2019 21:14

Wtf harrop?!

Naughty nasty wimin having an opinion.

NeurotrashWarrior · 06/05/2019 21:16

Slumcat · 06/05/2019 21:23

Someone got a thesaurus in his Christmas stocking.
Read the letter ITV, then take a gander at Maya Forstater, Then take a further gander at how much (mainly) women have pledged to support her. Then remind yourself of your key demographic that you air too.

Thank you for linking the clip. Laughing out loud - oh bravo Sonia! Three people frantically going, please can't we just make nice virtue signalling noises about a sandwich and ignore the whole huge elephant stampeding around us? And Sonia going No.

Datun · 06/05/2019 21:30

Oh dear.

Wrong words, no paragraphs.

And Ms Poulton was actually given the 'freedom' of controlling what she said.

Despite the desperate attempts of Harrop to keep the entire subject secret.

Even in his outrage he can't help tell everyone about his misogyny.

Datun · 06/05/2019 21:31

It's exactly the same MO he used with Posie. Telling her she was appropriating the word woman!

Bluestitch · 06/05/2019 21:39

If the cotton ceiling doesn't exist, why are they so scared of people googling it? It's not like they'll find any evidence or anything.

youllhavehadyourtea · 06/05/2019 21:39

Does he actually mean 'wrested control'. Not arrested. plank.

You can hear him frothing at the mouth. Posie video style.

IrishGal21 · 06/05/2019 21:39

Maya should be renamed Maya Firestarter :) #YouGoGirl

SarahTancredi · 06/05/2019 21:40

It's exactly the same MO he used with Posie. Telling her she was appropriating the word woman!

That was classic. Not sure theres any coming back from that especially when forced to admit that you dont ask people how they identify before you treated them in a&e.

youllhavehadyourtea · 06/05/2019 21:41

Hyperbolic Purple Prose.

boatyardblues · 06/05/2019 21:56

Thank you for linking the clip. Laughing out loud - oh bravo Sonia!

That clip was hilarious. I have always had a soft spot for interviewers and interviewees who go off piste and refuse to follow the rules, but that was glorious. Sonia didn’t so much breach the unwritten rules as drive a Sherman tank through them whilst letting off fireworks and flares. I bet there are journalism and communication academics throughout anglophone countries frantically archiving that YouTube clip for their teaching and research.

ILuvBirdsEye · 06/05/2019 21:58

Next time we need a recipe thread, please share your favourite sandwiches Grin

FloralBunting · 06/05/2019 22:00

Sonia you little beauty!

boatyardblues · 06/05/2019 22:04

Something else I spotted on the clip was how much red there was on the sugar/salt/fat RAG ratings on that sandwich packet. Are M&S trying to covertly send the LGBT community & allies to an early grave?

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 22:22

Here's his letter. Picked up a dictionary and pulled out a few long words, bless

Well, esoteric implies something secret and hidden. The facts, however, are gradually becoming more visible.

Justhadathought · 06/05/2019 22:25

I also think when he said " arrest control" he really meant " seize control".

Orchidoptic · 06/05/2019 22:31

Avocado salad, homemade if possible. I favour pepper and herbs to add a bit of pizazz.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 06/05/2019 22:50

Well done Sonia. Didn't she 'arrest control' brilliantly? (does Harrop have a problem with literacy? His letter reads like a load of random words strung together with little or no understanding of meaning or context)
