Well I know it’s not the point of the thread but I think the sandwich is excluding vegans and therefore the sandwich, and M & S, is bigoted and hateful for excluding certain members of LGBT from this sandwich celebration thingie. Fuck them.

Thing is, on one level I know this is parody but my vegan friend said something similar, so I'm just not sure any more.

You are mistaken. The tomatoes are also lettuce, no matter how they present. They add to the lettuciness of the sandwich- it isn't necessary to have 'traditional' lettuce on.
