Beating yourself up. You, Venice and Julia have conquered the market. No other ‘feminist’ has managed this. How amazing are you all. Posie, you have managed so much by presenting a truth that a women is an adult human female that is scientifically proven has scared everyone. How amazing are you.
I await my t shirt with this fact. I will not be able to wear it as I have a child/teen, nearly an adult who thinks they are female. Your t shirt will go into a drawer but I know it’s there reminding me, when I am questioning myself for not affirming my child’s thought, that my son can not be female.
Keep up your fight. Stop listening to others who are jealous of your basic campaign and who try to intellectualise it with academic talk, when the simple truth gets the job done.
Stand up for us parents. No one else is. Stand up for our daughters and for our sons too. The parents voice needs heard. Focus on this. It does not matter to parents where you are aligned politically. But you know this. Keep doing what you are doing and fight for me because I’m not brave enough to stand up

Well said Sunshine.

Sunshineofleith · 08/02/2019 01:52

Big thanks to Posie, Venice and Julia. You are appreciated. My heart is broken but you are giving me hope.

These women did nothing wrong.

We are at war, and our children are the cannon fodder. We must fight the gender cult, not each other. Anyone who doesn't understand this needs to rethink their behaviour.

NowtSalamander · 08/02/2019 10:12

As a parent of GNC kids I’m with you, Sunshine. This is about my children and I could not be happier with the team I’ve got on their side.

Popchyk · 08/02/2019 10:18

I have huge admiration for all of the women standing up on this.

Posie, Julia, Venice, Linda, Kathleen, Rosa, Janice T, Julie B, Karen I-S, Nic Williams to name just a few.

And loads more who I don't have time to put down.

All of them have pushed this issue right into the heart of mainstream politics, at considerable personal cost. I salute them all.

FactsAreNotMean · 08/02/2019 10:23

I appreciate the fact that she's not over-intellectualising it. There's a place for many different strands of argument, and that definitely includes hers imo.

Chaotica · 08/02/2019 10:34

I'm with Popchyk on this. The many women standing up have different strengths and all should be applauded.

We need the common sense opinions and campaigning, but also we need the academics who can criticize the theory which is saying that it is possible to be born in the wrong body, or that biological sex doesn't exist, or claiming that single sex spaces are not needed. We need campaigners who know the law, or biology, or neuroscience, or obscure parts of philosophy and queer theory who can present arguments and formal evidence.

We don't all agree with each other, but that's fine. We share some common goals. Remember it is the stated aim of some trans rights activists to cause splits in the gender critical movement against them. Really: we shouldn't let them do that. We are making progress together.

LangCleg · 08/02/2019 10:36

Posie and others are raising the popular awareness needed to in turn create the space for lawmakers to be forced listen to "experts" and "academics".

One can't succeed without the other.

Invisible1234 · 08/02/2019 10:43

We have far more impact being voices from different quarters, it shows how widespread the support is for women's rights and will connect with more people to bring them on board.

thatdamnwoman · 08/02/2019 10:45

Thumbs up from me to Posie, Venice, Julia — and to all the other women including Jean Hatchet, Kathleen Stock and others.

We're all involved in the same battle and we're all fighting in our different ways. It would be wonderful if we could all agree completely on how to tackle every one of the many issues that need to be taken on — but that's never going to happen. Hats off to everyone putting their time, their energy, their money and their reputations and lives on the line.

Sunshineofleith · 08/02/2019 11:17

It was the exposure that Man Friday got from direct activism that first brought this into the homes of the general public. Posie, Venice and Julia have taken it further and made it international. Posie’s off to Oslo as I write. Her voice is getting results. This is an international crisis where all sides must unite.

Absolutely!

OldCrone · 08/02/2019 11:27

We need more people to know what's happening. They need to be angry about their daughters seeing an adult penis in a changing room. They need to be angry about their children being taught in school that they can change sex.

The academics will never reach the numbers of people that Posie can with her billboards and videos. We need both. People like Posie and Man Friday to grab the headlines, and the academics to back everything up with robust arguments.

Infighting will get us nowhere.

LangCleg · 08/02/2019 11:28

Absolutely!

In my view, the "experts" and "academics" would do well to recognise this. There is no ownership of "we".

LangCleg · 08/02/2019 11:29

People like Posie and Man Friday to grab the headlines, and the academics to back everything up with robust arguments.

Exactly this.

Yes, yes, yes. All of this.

I love you, FWR. Grin

I think it's worth noticing the difference between the Maria Miller report of a couple of years ago (in which non TRA experts and academics were roundly ignored) and the recent Scottish parliamentary report on the census (where GC experts and academics were heard and acknowledged).

Which women created the space for this difference? Each one who caught the public's attention - Maria, Nic, Posie, Venice, Sticker Woman, etc - that's who.

littlbrowndog · 08/02/2019 11:49

Yeah it’s really really important that we are a mixed bunch

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 08/02/2019 12:04

I support every single woman who is doing anything to raise awareness of this issue. They're all doing it in different ways and they are all doing it publicly with the accountant bad publicity from the TRAs and the effect that has on their families etc.

Nic Williams, Caroline Farrow, Janice Turner, Rosa Freeman, Jean Hatchet, Jane Clare Jones, Julie Bindel, Karen Ingala Smith... All of them are inspirational women.

I stand with every one of them and thank them for what they are doing.

Bebstar123 · 08/02/2019 12:05

If nothing else this whole sorry incident has convinced me even more that political collectivism is a cancer eating away at genuine co-operation and debate. Political parties can kiss my ovaries.

Melroses · 08/02/2019 12:14

I support every single woman who is doing anything to raise awareness of this issue.

^^ This absolutely.

There is more than one way to approach things and there people who listen to different voices, so the message needs to be as widespread as possible. We each have our own pathway up the mountain.

(and thanks for The Proclaimers Grin)

Mner2019 · 08/02/2019 12:17

I was dumbstruck by the amazing work of all the GC feminists. Every campaign, every tweet, every comment on here. It all helps. What those in the spotlight must be going through is unbelievable and must mean the TRAs are scared. Keep going all of you as the tide is turning.

I am wearing my t-shirt for the first time ever this morning after buying it last year. It is under a layer of jumpers/tops as I am not as brave as I want to be.

Mner2019 · 08/02/2019 12:18

It doesn't matter at all what political spectrum any of use are from. This is fundamental to everything else.

RhymesWithOrange · 08/02/2019 13:31

Agree with all of this. I'm not good at interpreting some of the more oblique messages on various SM platforms but it sounds like there's a lot of bitterness between JH and PP, where once they shared a platform?

I don't know who's right or wrong, I hugely admire them both and I think the fight needs both of them.
