I feel a little bit sick, reading this. Is this really the average discourse around trans women who identify as lesbian? That's terrifying for our baby dykes.

The whole lesbians-have-to-accept-dick-or-they-are-transphobes narrative was one of many wtf moments that made me start to pay more attention to the whole trans issue.
I can't imagine how horrible it must be to be a young lesbian and be faced with all this homophobic rhetoric.

There's also this post from r/LGBdroptheT in which a "gay trans man" ohfudgeit (about half way down the replies to the OP) comes to school lesbians about their unacknowledged transphobia. It's worth reading all the responses the poster makes when challenged, these people have such a huge blind spot.

I think the post is very revealing of the importance of sophistry, "calling out" and labelling to their essentially homophobic position:

As such, from what you've said, I can see only two reasons that someone might lnot want to date a trans woman (as a lesbian) that are not rooted in transphobia.
1 You only want to date a someone with a fertile womb (this does not mean that you would break up with a long term partner if you found out that they were infertile but it does assume that you would not consider (intentionally) starting a relationship with any infertile person.)
2 You have a preference for vaginas and some aversion to surgical procedures. Personally I do not experience strong genital preferences and so this is hard for me to understand. I can see however that these might be valid concerns for other people.
I think that what often gets missed in this discussion is that yes, it is possible to never want to date a trans person for non transphobic reasons but these reasons are so uncommon that in the vast majority of cases this is not the case.
