My elderly parents peak transed today

I was having a lively debate with my parents (both in their 80s and incredibly with it and intelligent) and the subject of womens only safe spaces came up. I decided to tell them about the proposed issues involving TIMs.

And they peak transed.

So begins the spread of this information among their friends, and the ripples will spread.

Brilliant. I peak transed a civil servant last week just by telling them about the suggested GRA reforms - i.e. that some politicians had in all seriousness proposed that any man could become a woman just on his say so. They thought I was joking and peak transed as soon as they found concrete proof that I wasn't

Good stuff!

My parents wondered why this was not common knowledge, which led tp a further discussion around the issue of non platforming, the shutting down of debate and also how women were being referred to as 'cis'.

I 'fledgling peak transed' my hairdresser today.

As I left she said I'm going to speak to my husband about this tonight.

I love your opening post. Not least because of the image conjured up in my head of two older people, listening to their child.

And embracing their child's experience of the 'next thing'.

It does at first sight, Phoenix, and I think that’s how things have got to this point - no one decent wants to see themselves trampling a disadvantaged minority. It’s when you look at what’s actually happening and the logical inconsistencies and the genuine bile and hatred coming from some trans activists that you do a double take and think, now hold on a minute...

Not really Phoenix. I am very worried about men who decide they are women within a short period of time, have no body modifications and continue to live as 'men' gaining unrestricted access to women's refuges, womens wards, womens prisons and bathrooms. I have a REAL issue with it, in fact.

Peak trans is the point most ordinary tolerant nice people reach once they actual realise what is happening because of transgender ideology.

What hatred do you think is being spread Phoenix? People are explaining the impact of proposed law to other people who would be affected by it. What is hateful about it?

It's great you have the relationship with your parents to talk about this sort of thing, and your right. Once you've peaked one person it sort of ripples out and more people become aware what is happening.

Peak trans is when you have listened and heard about the various issues around transgender and accommodated and taken it all on board, and really tried to understand then you come across something that is so ridiculous, makes you realise that you are being sold a pup. From that moment onwards, nothing is the same.

My mother who is 92 and doesn't consider herself elderly, thinks they are men in dresses and always has done.

Because persuading people to "peak trans" or get to that point is and be proud of it is not nice is it.

You're basically saying here's x y and z reason why you shouldn't like trans people. And you can dress it up with "It's not about trans hatred it's about women's rights" but its still hatred.

I agree that women should have rights obviously but trans people are women and for the most part genuinely feel that way and will transition completely.

It's a shame that a small minority who are clearly not serious are spoiling that but also causing people to try and spread hate.

I peak trans-ed my DM in about 10 seconds. That's all it took her to work out the implications of letting men decide to call themselves women, and she was immediately worried and outraged. I'd love to set her on Maria Miller Grin

I think I managed to open my 16 year old daughter eyes a little. Essentially we felt the same on the issue - but she was surprised at some of the things I was able to tell her. However some things she did roll her eyes at and say I was scaremongering...
Her age group is the most misled in this whole thing.

Oh i have no issue whatsoever with those who are true trans. They do not beat the demand drum as the TRAs do.

I do, however, have massive issues with those using trans for their own agenda.
