Marie, of Lubbock Street, Burnley, was a sexual offender who broke into several homes and filmed himself wearing underwear belonging to teenage girls in Burnley and Padiham, Preston Crown Court was told.

I see the Guardian is silent on the actual nature of his crimes.

Presumably they can't give her straighteners because of the risk of self harm. I don't use straighteners or make up and have hairy legs right now. I am still a woman.

If the argument is that Marie should not be in a men's prison they should focus on that, not access to beauty products. After all I know men who use straighteners but I doubt they would be allowed them either.

What annoys me the most is the implication that if you are a woman you can't manage without makeup as if you're not fine as you are.

He was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years, banned from contacting the victims and disqualified from working with children.

After the case, Det Insp Stuart Dixon, who led the investigation, said: “We are delighted with the sentence.

“Gary Dean Marie is a very dangerous and prolific offender and he posed a significant risk to the community.”

Well he’s a glowing advert for the trans community and everything they’re fighting for isn’t he? And people say we’re hysterical for saying stuff like this will happen if self ID is allowed. He isn’t a trans person at all, he’s a bloke who gets sexual gratification out of dressing in his victims underwear and having a wank.

I find the fact that the Guardian have left out that little snippet about breaking in and wearing teenage girls' underwear pretty telling. They've got such an agenda, haven't they?

How can people support a sex offender who wants to be moved to a women's prison?

The judge said;
“Your victims undoubtedly regard you as being a dangerous man within the community and the sort of dangerous person that will give them every reason to be careful or worry when things go bump in the night.
“It is behaviour that anyone is bound to find chilling.”

Marie was handed an indeterminate sentence, with a minimum of six years, minus 426 days already spent behind bars on remand.
