Link

Friends have written a letter saying "we demand that her identity as a woman is returned to her immediately".

Women in women's prisons don't get fucking straighteners or epilators either you ginormous self obsessed plonker.

"Last year the MoJ introduced guidelines for the treatment of trans prisoners, stating that individual dignity should be respected and all cases should be reviewed within three days of arrival in custody to determine where they would be best placed and that, unless a particular concession is a demonstrable risk to safety, it should be permitted."

Well presumably this was done and it was found that the best place was the male estate.

Make-up and clothes don't make a women. Neither does the removal of body hair or the straightening of head hair. None of these are human rights and the inability to perform femininity is not essential for anyone, man or woman.

Probably best not to burgle numerous people, if being sent to an institute where these things that are a personal matter of "life and death" for you, are likely to be restricted.

MinorRSole · 27/01/2018 15:59

Who gives a shit if he's on hunger strike though? Not me. If he doesn't want to eat, fine - doesn't affect anyone else, let him get on with it

QOFE · 27/01/2018 16:01

I mean it's how we all assert our femininity, right? Breaking into teenage girls bedrooms and wanking into their underwear?

Said no actual woman ever

No surprise that it is the Guardian among the nationals is the one to pick it up first: and the one to write a half arsed story.

Hey Marie - here's a thought. Being a sex offending burglar is not compulsory you know. No crime? No time.

DickTERFin · 27/01/2018 16:06

Aaaand he's a fetishist.

Well fuck me sideways with a feather duster, who could have possibly predicted that?!

It's Kink or Death as opposed to Cake or Death with this one, isn't it? I wonder if he's an Izzard fan?

blackdoggotmytongue · 27/01/2018 16:06

Is there actually a way to complain about misrepresentation in journalism?

HumphreyCobblers · 27/01/2018 16:07

God the Guardian is really driving an agenda here.

flapsDentata · 27/01/2018 16:08

I’ve tweeted about this under #LabourLosingWomen a retweet would be grand. Let’s get people talking about this.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/01/2018 16:08

Supposing there was a woman who for some reason had been raised as male but, as an adult, was desperate to be recognised as female.

Would she be breaking into people's houses and filming herself in girls' underwear?

Of course not. This whole thing is bonkers.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 16:16

"Fox petitions to be moved to henhouse. Farmer refuses, receives complaints about cruelty to foxes."

GinAndSonic · 27/01/2018 16:21

Trans women are definitely not a danger to women and girls though. Nope. We shouldn't mind having them in our toilets and fitting rooms.

HemanOrSheRa · 27/01/2018 16:24

Gary Dean Marie was placed under a sex offender order whilst he was on remand, before he was convicted, as the Police were so concerned about him and the risk to the public. Jeez.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/01/2018 16:24

“Gary Dean Marie is a very dangerous and prolific offender and he posed a significant risk to the community"

No. He's a danger to women

BlindYeo · 27/01/2018 16:25

So the Guardian is at it again. I'm not remotely surprised but as angry and disappointed as always.

It's reached AIBU

BlindYeo · 27/01/2018 16:32

Agree VivaLeBeaver. Fake news.

Popchyk · 27/01/2018 16:34

Gary Dean Marie.

Marie is an unusual surname and just happens to be a woman's name (that he is now using as a first name). Anyone suspicious that he changed it by deed poll before he committed these offences?

And then changed it again to Marie Dean.

I suspect you'd find other offences under other names that he used.

QOFE · 27/01/2018 16:34

I AIBUED it Grin

Oops didn't see comment above Blush No sympathy for the guy there...

bambambini · 27/01/2018 16:42

I think a petition should be raised and Labour asked to endorse it to the hilt to get this woman transferrd to a women’s prison. If Labour believe that transwomen are women then every self identifying prisoner should automatically be moved. We can’t have some self identifying TW validated and not others. That goes for Huntley, the dirty protest extremely violent self identifying prisoner in Scotland and the 11 sexual assault prisoners supposedly currently transitioning.

blackdoggotmytongue · 27/01/2018 16:44

I bet this dude used his fetish as a defence in court too. Oh poor ickle me. I’m just so drawn to wearing women’s panties and that lead to me breaking into houses to wear them.
No popping to Marks and Sparks for this one. Far more sensible to break and enter and wank in teenage girls bedrooms. And then cry trans.
Newsflash. Women don’t break into other women’s bedrooms and pop on their undies and get their todger out for a quick selfie.

blackdoggotmytongue · 27/01/2018 16:47

Not a woman. A man with a fetish about teenage girls underwear.

flapsDentata · 27/01/2018 16:48

I’ve tweeted a question to him? Will he update the article to reflect the actual full story? Again under the #LabourLosingWomen
