Link

Friends have written a letter saying "we demand that her identity as a woman is returned to her immediately".

Women in women's prisons don't get fucking straighteners or epilators either you ginormous self obsessed plonker.

OP posts:
AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 21:20

So basically he has only himself to blame for his current "plight".

Popchyk · 27/01/2018 21:29

Couldn't find out anything more about the sentencing, sorry.

But the BBC reported at the original sentencing that Gary Marie already had 63 previous convictions before these new convictions.

And I couldn't find anything under that name. So it looks like our "Marie" is a serial name changer.

DickTERFin · 27/01/2018 21:30

Well "unknowingly" is a bit of an excuse though isn't it?

If I had had a "harrowing ordeal" in prison and knew I could be sent back for breach of licence I would make it my business to know exactly where, taking your example, all the Secondary Schools are so as not to accidentally find myself back in the clink.

Likely he knowingly breached thinking he wouldn't get caught.

saladdays66 · 27/01/2018 21:37

He isn’t a trans person at all, he’s a bloke who gets sexual gratification out of dressing in his victims underwear and having a wank.

^this.

I have never broken into anyone’s bedroom and wanked into their underwear.

He is no woman. He’s a fucking sex offender. Vile. Stay on hunger strike.

Ireallylovetea2 · 27/01/2018 21:38

What happened to: "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime!"

It should be illegal not to include all the known facts in a newspaper article.

Let him starve, one less sex offender to worry about and pay to keep in jail.

OlennasWimple · 27/01/2018 21:40

Me too, DickTERFin, me too.

I don't have any sympathy for convicts who are released on licence and then breach the terms. At all.

As Angry says, he only has himself to blame. Which I suspect is at the heart of his current state of mind.

Catbot · 27/01/2018 21:44

Apparently this is the same person:

Suicidal ideation is quite common when perps are incarcerated for violent crimes. Becoming suicidal when a violent male can no longer abuse is also extremely common.
It is infuriating that the media behave as though there is something unique about it when the male claims to be transgender. They seem to think it perfectly normal when a man murders his ex and then himself so he won't have to be incarcerated and deprived of victims.

Lucydogz · 27/01/2018 22:48

anyone else notice that Hadley Freeman (Guardian journalist) 'liked' Janice Turner's tweet?

TheUncommonReader · 27/01/2018 22:53

I am so shocked by the Guardian article. What a ridiculous peice of propaganda! Is there an external body to complain to?

LangCleg · 27/01/2018 22:55

Yes! I said on the AIBU thread about this that dangerous prisoners often stage outlandish protests in prison. It is an attempt to control their environment. Because they have disordered thinking - which is what makes them dangerous. Dangerous people can still, in a weird and twisted way, be vulnerable.

The man is clearly a danger to women with an inability to control his offending pattern and a women's prison is the last place he should be. Transfer him to a secure mental unit if his decision making is this disordered.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/01/2018 23:07

@TheUncommonReader maybe complain to IPSO on grounds of inaccuracy? www.ipso.co.uk/make-a-complaint/ I'm not sure if this would count as inaccurate though.

BlindYeo · 27/01/2018 23:13

I didn't see the tweet Lucy but I have seen good gender critical articles by Hadley Freeman.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/01/2018 23:16

Hadley:"Trying and failing to think of anything more patriarchal than telling women not to mention vaginas at a Women’s March"

HairyBallTheorem · 27/01/2018 23:27

I love Hadders! (And that thread is fascinating and horrifying, because it shows up not just the dogpiling "you're a terf" reactions, but the way that some of the authoritarian left is also blatantly and unashamedly anti-semitic; one of the people arguing with her swaps pretty much alternate tweets from doing the "you're a terf" thing to "and what about Palestine, well, what about it, WHAT ABOUT IT?")

WillowWept · 27/01/2018 23:33

Has the original article been updated? Now references that he is in prison for filming himself in women's/girls underwear having broken into their homes

HairyBallTheorem · 27/01/2018 23:36

Yes, the Graun has tinkered with it apparently - it was mentioned upthread.

So first lying by omission, then Stalinist air-brushing of history to cover up the evidence of the lie.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 27/01/2018 23:41

I just emailed their readers' editor. I can't understand why supposedly intelligent people don't get this.

officerhinrika · 27/01/2018 23:48

The Guardian article has been updated twice. It now includes the bit about teenage girls underwear and the judge calling the case chilling.
Well done on the emailing everyone!

BlindYeo · 27/01/2018 23:49

I just don't understand the Guardian's motivation here. Sex offender is put in prison. Guardian publishes article designed to elicit sympathy for poor 'trans' prisoner? Why?

TinklyLittleLaugh · 27/01/2018 23:52

Hmm, he's not broken into their homes, robbed their stuff, taken it home, tried it on and filmed himself though has he? I mean that would be pretty distasteful. But he's tried it on and filmed himself wanking in their bedrooms. Much, much more violating and disturbing. Never mind all the paedophile stuff and the voyeurism.

RedToothBrush · 27/01/2018 23:56

I am so shocked by the Guardian article. What a ridiculous peice of propaganda! Is there an external body to complain to?

Omitting something is technically not viewed as factually inaccurate. The story is correct, it just doesn't tell all the story.

Its common practice.

Its like the photograph thats cropped to tell the story the writer wants to illustrate, not the full picture. And even then the photographer has already ommited lots of details by selecting what to take a photo of, and what they don't include in the frame shot.

It would be unworkable to have a system where you legally could complain for ommission for this reason.

This falls firmly under ethics and journalistic integrity and skill.

The original article had neither.

DickTERFin · 27/01/2018 23:58

Because many people won't dig deeper and join the dots together, so it's worth a punt to sell the "poor gentle transwomen, wouldn't 'urt a fly, BRUTALISED by society" propaganda.

Even if the poor lambkin is some deviant creeplord who fapps off into teenagers stolen underwear. They literally don't give a shit about violence against women and they can't even mask it that well any more.

LadyBoyXy · 27/01/2018 23:59

Sick to F death of these F wankers. Excuse the pun.

They're popping up everywhere. What on god's green earth is this world coming to?

AngryAttackKittens · 28/01/2018 00:00

Oh, I think the original showed plenty of skill, it's just that it was skill being put to nefarious purposes. The fact that the Guardian is consistently putting this spin on trans related stories isn't an accident, they know exactly what they're doing.
