NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS

Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

BudaisintheZONE · 25/06/2010 07:59

Hi Cyb!!! Long time no see.

I know. It's bad. And am flying home to Dublin tonight too. Aaargh.

Am off out for breakfast now with some mums from DS's school before going to end of year assembly at 11 and then they finish at 12. Breakfast will be ok. Can zone for that.

Have worked out I have lost 19 pounds in total. Aim is to have lost 21 pounds when I get back from Dublin which should be do-able. Am taking exercise kit and will walk every day for an hour. And will zone.

More 's

cyb · 25/06/2010 08:20

I'm still here! And amazingly, given my greedy past, NOT putting weight on

Its great!

cyb · 25/06/2010 08:21

well done on your weight loss btw. you are well on the way to being SKINNY MINNIES

CheeeseOnToast · 25/06/2010 10:17

Wow, well done everyone. Losses all round, it looks like.

I've stayed the same as last week. I don't know how I can shift this extra weight. I dont seem to have either the motivation or the willpower, don't know what. I've even given up drinking wine this week and it doesn't seem to have made a difference. Mind you, I do feel very bloated, boobs are massive and sore (sorry if TMI!) and I think period is coming early (it shouldn't do, I'm on the pill ) so perhaps it's that? And maybe next week I'll have another loss?

DukesOfTripHazard · 25/06/2010 10:36

Buda! You sure eat a good after party!!!

QT: Photos! Photos! Photos!

Cheese. Do not despair. I felt just like that earlier in the week. Dig deep, power through and when your period is over you'll be happy, happy.

Cyb are you enjoying summer dresses/dressing? I hated last summer. Felt so dumpy. Completely devoid of any motivation for funky combinations. I am halter necked today. Shoulders back, tits out!!!! Not out, out, obv.

QualityTime · 25/06/2010 16:00

Cheese, I hit a mini plateau over the last few weeks but once the weather here cooled for a few days and my period buggered off (it also came early, weirdly) the loss was there. Don't despair!

Well done for staying zoney cyb.

Got compliments at playgroup, they said they coudl tell I had lost weight now, I do love them, they are veyr straight-talking so I know they mean it

Pics shoudl be up. Before is about 18 months ago size 20-22, after is in my size 18 new clothes this morning
It's not a massive difference, am still overweight, but definately getting there.

cyb · 25/06/2010 16:04

Hey dukes- yes I AM enjoying summer dressing despite bunion (singular) and leg veinage and pally wally skin. Everything fits! and in some cases is too darn big

QT you have a waist!

duckyfuzz · 25/06/2010 16:13

I'm here too fab losses jack and buda no loss here but no gain either am feeling nice and slim and getting compliments

Work hellish atm

QualityTime · 25/06/2010 16:20

Oh ducks, will you get the weekend off at least? Poor you, yay for compliments though!

cyb, I know! and now the fattest bits go boobs, stomach, belly roll (ick) instead of belly roll, stomach, boobs. God I was disgusting, no looking back.

dinkystinky · 25/06/2010 17:34

Hello losers and non-losers - Cheese, keep the faith. You will lose that weight - just keep drinking lots of water, stop watching what you're eating for a few days (as sometimes letting go of the reins is a good thing and stops you obsessing on food and bingeing as a result). QT - fab results - well done on the 18s and the compliments. Buda - well done on the loss but I think you need to put an alarm on your freezer so klaxxons go off saying NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS over and over every time you drunkenly reach for the mini magnums Ducky - really sorry work is shite (and it feels even more shite than usual when you're stuck in stress hell and look out and see the sun and other people enjoying life, believe me I know) - hope it improves soon.

Had a rare weekday off work and took DS1 to nursery, did a lovely 2 hour work out in the gym (luxury of luxuries) including a half hour run, picked up DS1 and brought him home for lunch with his little brother and then went into town to spend my spa vouchers on a lovely massage (so lovely I fell asleep and snored) and facial and managed to pick up some lovely pale blue heels in the sale for £35 - down from £85 - from Jones. Now chiling out at home waiting for small people to arrive back from a play date. Bliss.

dinkystinky · 25/06/2010 17:35

Oh yes, according to gym scales I am 10 5 with trainers on.

QualityTime · 25/06/2010 21:00

well done dinks, that's gotta be a couple of pounds extra fully dressed, awesome!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 25/06/2010 21:29

QT wow!! you really, really, really see the difference!! And think of the health benefits! [boring I know, but It's the first thing I think of]

I lost 1lb this week (bringing it to 3 stone 2.5lb) - 5lb to target Hoping to be there for August.

Have been running quite a bit recently, but the stitch in my side/stomach keeps hindering me & making me walk some

Am doing another run on Sunday, another 5K one, so hopefully it'll go as well as the Race for Life.

Everyone is doing so well!

Buda, enjoy Dublin! I'm in the North

Aitch · 25/06/2010 21:40

omg qt you look like a different woman! so foxylicious in the second one!
and gawd, change your name, will you? qt means we should capitalise, i hate that. plus, cutie, i mean really.... you can do better. that GORGEOUS woman in the photo deserves better...

QualityTime · 25/06/2010 22:17

I didn'ty think of cutie, honest.
It was a horse that raced on my birthday, I liked the name, MN is my quality `me' time
Fuck, it took me long enough to come up with that! I may as well go abck to jack because tbh I have outed myself so many fucking times

Oh, but thanks

Re stitches, how long before running do you eat? and how do you breathe? (yes yes haha) I mean do you breathe in/out on the same foot? If I do that I get a stitch instantly. try, as you are running, going in, in, out, in, in, out, so altering the side you breathe out on. A stitch is your diaphragm being pulled by your stomach (if it is full) or your ribs/side (i thin) if you are breathiong 'wrong' (my brother is a sports scientist, gave me a long mansplanation about it which I instantly forgot but it still works.)

QualityTime · 25/06/2010 22:18

Oh, you cna call me q, bbtw, that woudl amuse me on many levels.

MountTheFairy · 25/06/2010 22:20

Oh blast, somehow I lost my post. I wanted to say thank you to all those who gave me advice on the previous incarnation of this thread. I am also in admiration of you folks. So much weight lost! From what I can gather, seems like most of you just gave up on carbs, or 'bad carbs'. I am thinking I need more of a system, but still need to decide what! I know my biggest sin is sweets, but I am ok with the rest of carbs (bread, etc.). I have given up drinking completely a couple of months back (and no weightloss), but I wasn't really much of a drinker. I probably need to eat more grains and pulses, so if anyone has any useful recipes, please share!

So, can I join you ladies, although I still need to figure out how I will do this?

Aitch · 25/06/2010 22:25

no sweets, love. off the menu i'm afraid. this is the hard core thread.

Quality · 25/06/2010 22:32

Welcome mount, am trying out a new name (again )

What are you eating now in a typical day?

I don't think we are all low carbing, some do sw or dukan I think, but the mantras stay the same

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
Will it make me happy?
Will it still be available when I have lost weight?

Aitch · 25/06/2010 22:33

ach no, while quality IS better it's still not you. i think you need a character name, for you are a character.

Aitch · 25/06/2010 22:35

what about maggiephilbin? i liked her.

cornsilk5793 · 25/06/2010 22:40

I need scales. Went to gym - still loving dinky's abs exercises. (I love dinky)I resisted the ice-cream today in Waitrose and am aiming to get back in the zone.
