....not necessarily the best kick-start to losing weight.
My Mum has just announced to my family that since I have put on weight, I am looking increasingly like my 20st rugby playing uncle. So, time to put away the pringles I fear! Anyone want to join me (after new year)

am with you lilo but not before I raise you 2 slices of double chocolate cheesecake and a packet of sensation crisps (the cheesecake was homemade if that helps in the slightest?!)

and if we're talking about lovely family quotes, I was told by my cousins and aunt during the token singstar session on Christmas day that at least all my weight was on my stomach and chest, that it could be worse, I could have a fat arse too

lilolilbethlehem · 30/12/2008 00:28

I can raise you that fat arse, Dizzy! not going to start before the partying is over, but would happily welcome mutual support thread for those of us who just need a bit of encouragement to reduce the chocolate/crisps/alcohol etc intake and - deep breath possibly even start a little more exercise??? OK, maybe not, one small step at a time, eh?!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 30/12/2008 00:31

shall take that small step with you, starting around the 6th when the kids are back at school and normal chaos routine resumes

NoShitSherlock · 30/12/2008 12:49

Can I join too

lilolilbethlehem · 30/12/2008 16:02

of course NSS.... but agree with Dizzy, think we should wait til all the cake crisps chocolate arefinished-- kids back at school.

See you on the 6th, but feel free to start earlier if you wish!

Dizzy, NoShit, and anyone else.... still up for a reluctant slimmer support thread once the DCs are back at school????

intheskywithdiamonds · 03/01/2009 22:59

hello! any room for a not-so-little one?! From the 5th I am going to do everything I can and would love to be part of a reluctant slimmer's support thread!

lilolilmanchester · 03/01/2009 23:24

yes, of course! Welcome, inthesky. Tho must say, I cannot pretend to be a dieting guru or to have any will power. So this is about us all mucking in and trying to help each other along. This is NOT "slim with Lilo" (unless you want to end up heavier than you started!)

dizzydixies · 03/01/2009 23:26

I'm not starting till the 6th as DD1 has an inservice day on Monday so doesn't start back till Tues

probably not the right attitude but I'll get there

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/01/2009 23:28

Oh me please, can I join?

6 weeks after having DD I was 12 pounds away from pre-pg weight. Now, 20 weeks after having her am 22 pounds away!

lilolilmanchester · 03/01/2009 23:28

6th fine by me. (or 7th, 8th, 9th.... whatever!!!!)

lilolilmanchester · 03/01/2009 23:30

yes of course chequers and anyone else, you don't have to be invited or voted in, just join. To make you feel better, I am now a stone heavier than at the end of both my pregnancies and my youngest is 11.... so I have some work to do. Or should I say YOU LOT have some work to do to keep me on the straight and narrow!!!!

dizzydixies · 03/01/2009 23:30

chequers you're just showing off I've about 5 stone to loose and although DD3 is 22 wks now I haven't shifted a bloody thing even through exclusive bfing

right 6th it is then

lilolilmanchester · 03/01/2009 23:31

(or 7th, 8th, 9th.... whatever!!!!)

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/01/2009 23:32

Dizzy, the b/feeding thing is a con, huh? I'm sure it's making me pile on weight (can't possibly be the quality street...)

dizzydixies · 03/01/2009 23:39

chequers, I have exclusively fed all 3 of mine and it hasn't worked for me once . they've all been really big babies who have fed a lot but to the point where even when I don't eat anything overnight I waken up in the morning feeling sick from feeding during the night and not eating

am sure it works for Mylene Class but not for me - each time I fed I've said to dh that when I finish feeding the insatiable hunger shall pass

it hasn't yet

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/01/2009 23:41

Gah! Now I'm depressed dizzy!

My DD was 9 pounds 11 born so pretty big too I guess and takes a lot of feeding (although we do use some formula too). She was born on 11th August, must be a similar age to your DD3?

dizzydixies · 03/01/2009 23:42

31st July for my DD3 - she was 9lb14 and my smallest

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/01/2009 23:48
intheskywithdiamonds · 04/01/2009 10:20

dizzydixies I am with you on the 5 stone-ish mark. Its a scary number but the difference will be all the more amazing.

Lilo - ending up heavier than when I started is usually what happens when I attempt to loose weight!!

Anyone got any last meals/treats planned?!

intheskywithdiamonds · 04/01/2009 10:50

oh and a couple of motivational things I am going to do are:

  • take a profile and portrait style photograph of myself on day 1 as you never notice changes in your face as you see it every day

  • try on one of my 'skinny' pairs of trousers every couple of weeks as see how the huge gap on the zip gets smaller and maybe even one day will do up!

  • remember that having one biscuit is not the end of the world and does not mean I've blown it and may as well have two biscuits/the whole packets/a tub of Ben and Jerrys

lilolilmanchester · 04/01/2009 13:32

Hi all, won't have much time to look in tomorrow.
I am 12st 2 and should be 9 1/2 - 10 stone. Would be happy with losing anything by the end of Jan - ideally 1/2 a stone but that might be a bit ambitious.
I'm not going to calorie count or go to weight watchers to start with. Will try cutting down on alcohol, alcohol induced munching, and try to eat less but more often.
Am just eating a slice of wonderful Christmas cake, it's nowhere near finished but then a little slice every now and then isn't going to hurt is it?????
I plan to weigh myself on Monday mornings and to try not to inbetween. I might measure my waist, thighs and bust to see if I lose any inches.
Good luck all!

madAngelHairday · 04/01/2009 14:25

Hello, can I join please? Could do with some support so don't give up!! I need to lose around 1.5 stone, have put on a stone this year due to health/med problems and determmined to shift it this time and get back in my nice clothes. Will start on 6th too as in hosp tomorrow for a procedure, tho have to fast for it so maybe a quick start?! look forward to chatting.

MmeJaffaB · 04/01/2009 14:33

Hi ladies, I'd love to join you too..... Most of the time I'm fat and lazy, but I can be fun, have been slim and motivated once, I can be very supportive. I have 3 monsters dc's 18mths, 3 and 6 yrs and we live in France.

I need someone to beat me support, I can't do this on my own. In the UK I had the support of a class and lost just over 5 stone, loving every minute of it. I don't have class anymore and I really need I know, but someone to say, well done, pat on the back or ffs girl pull your finger out.

Can anyone do that for me?

Have 2/3 stone to loose, starting tomorow.

madAngelHairday · 04/01/2009 14:38

MmeJ, I'll beat you if you beat me (oo-er!)
