....not necessarily the best kick-start to losing weight.
My Mum has just announced to my family that since I have put on weight, I am looking increasingly like my 20st rugby playing uncle. So, time to put away the pringles I fear! Anyone want to join me (after new year)

Well I went into town and bought my new scales. Don't like them much though, they say I weight 3 pounds more than on the other ones I did have all my winter clothes on though....

Today I had toast for breakfast, a bagel for lunch, then when I was in town after feeding DD I suddenly felt all lightheaded and weird. I went to boots and got some kind of wrap thing that was only 225 cals and some apple pieces so I think that was ok.

We're having some kind of chicken and vegetable dinner tonight, which will be pretty healthy.

Lilo, you've been really good today - you can motivate yourself at the weekend by reminding yourself of how good you've been in the week.

lilolilmanchester · 08/01/2009 20:09

Thanks Chancellor. I have just had some quiche, but smaller piece than normal with a baked potato and salad. DS made apple crumble at school today so I HAD to have a little bit!!! My scales seem to be playing up, they are saying I'm 3lb heavier than before Christmas!!
I've been really tired today, not managed to do much at work and no energy to do any housework. Think I've been eating too little

loler · 08/01/2009 21:56

Sonnet - for hula hoop ring catching you ned to stop hip wiggling and lean over, I can't do it unless I actually do the arm movements too! I look a freak but am very proud of my 852 spins!

NSS - hi I remember you as shortandsweet - well done for keeping the 2 stone off. I managed to keep most off until the end of summer - I think I just fatten up in the winter!

Have done very badly today - someone brought homemade cakes into work - would have been rude not to...

madhairjanuary · 09/01/2009 12:43

Sounds like everyone is being good, and I completely agree lilo that depriving yourself completely is the wrong way about it, sensible treats sometimes are the way to go. I aslo love my wine, usually at the weekends, and am trying to have only half a glass with the meal and leave it at that. Also trying not to eat puddings. Done well yesterday and today with the eating, have also been to the gym both days so feel v worthy, lol. But warning....don't weigh yourself every day or even every other day - I did this morning after weighing myself weds when I'd lost the 3lb, and was exactly the same, which depressed me, then told myself not to be so daft. wieghing once a week better I reckon, or even not at all, what do you all do?
Oh and Friday night is our pizza night....do you think I should just not have it, or is it ok once a week....it's lovely, we put the dc to bed, crack open the wine and have pizzas, I guess I could have less....can't quite forego it all I think!

lilolilmanchester · 09/01/2009 13:12

what would life be like without pizza, eh? Perhaps have slightly less pizza and a bowl of salad? Or just keep on as you have before, but promise yourself you will enjoy every mouthful, stop when you are full (I often eat cos I'm enjoying something when I really don't need to eat any more), and NOT feel guilty about it!!

And agree re only weighing yourself once a week, tho admit I have been on the scales more than once this week!

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 09/01/2009 13:25

Madhair, we have a pizza night too but ours is Saturday. Definitely going to keep it, just eat sensibly the rest of the time.

When I've dieted successfully in the past on days I've gone out for dinner or whatever I've gone without snacks and had a really low-cal breakfast and lunch on that day and just eaten whatever I've liked when I've been out.

I only walked for an hour today, as it was a bit damp out, but definitely feel better for the increased exercise.

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 09/01/2009 19:28

I've just been bad!!!

Day 7 and just had a small Domino's pizza. Thought I'd better confess.

I've been good all week though and have just started trying to sleep train DD with the pick up/put down method. Hours of lifting a 17.5 pound baby surely count as exercise?

Hope the rest of you are doing better than me.

loler · 09/01/2009 20:33

Try not to feel bad about it - hope the pizza was nice.

I'm having a gin blow out tonight!

I weigh on a Saturday morning - that way I can have a day off on saturday and get back on the wagon for the rest of the week. Everyone needs a treat!

Really wanting crisps tonight!

lilolilmanchester · 09/01/2009 22:46

I have had a half bottle of wine and Chinese takeaway tonight... BUT normally, I'd have had a beer or gin before the wine and would have eaten more Chinese than I did. So better than usual. Been invited out to dinner tomorrow at someone's house, and out again on Sunday. Think the weekend is going to undo all the good work of the week...

NoShitSherlock · 10/01/2009 07:18

I have been really good all week and the had a big bar of cadburys turkish delight which is 640 cals but I loved every moment and back on track today with my museli and yogurt

Hope you all have a good night last night

loler · 10/01/2009 08:46

Not sure how but have just weighed and am down 2lb! Better not over analysis and just be happy

Had a bit of a wobble at work when my very skinny friend was just having fruit for lunch. She was trying to lose 2lb for her holiday in March. Isn't that just a big poo?

oh chinese......

NoShitSherlock · 10/01/2009 08:55

Well done loler thats great

loler · 10/01/2009 09:01

Must just show how much rubbish I was eating before - that's just half a week loss!

Still thinking about chinese. mmmmmmm

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 10/01/2009 11:56

Well done loler.

Glad soime other people have been naughty too!

I think I'm about 2 pounds less than I was last Saturday according to the old scales. Starting with the digital scales today so it will be easier to track what's going on.

So far between today and yesterday I did 2 hours and 20 minutes of constant picking up and putting down DD, so that must have burned some extra calories

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 10/01/2009 17:29

So how is everyone doing today?

Have been so busy I've only had two pieces of toast and an oatcake today. Having tuna pasta bake for tea.

NoShitSherlock · 10/01/2009 18:50

I have been good today. Had homemade potato wedges and chilli beef for dinner. It was delish.

Having a few vodkas tonight

lilolilmanchester · 10/01/2009 19:42

have been invited in to neighbours' house for dinner tonight, will eat & drink whatever's offered so I think all my good work from earlier in the week will be undone this weekend. But at least I shouldn't have put on weight!

lilolilmanchester · 11/01/2009 02:31

just back, not looking good for the weight loss plan!

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 11/01/2009 10:06

Onwards and upwards Lilo, you've got to still have some fun, as long as you're good most of the time it won't make a difference.

Am of you out til 2.30!

NoShitSherlock · 11/01/2009 17:59

Oops went to the harvester for kunch today BUT I did a 6 mile walk before hand so think this cancels it out

Hope you had a good weekend, must have done as its so uite on here

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 11/01/2009 18:50

I was thinking the same sherlock, hope our dieting comrades have not abanadoned us!

Harvester for lunch is fine I'm sure, especially if you filled up on salad first.

6 mile walk is fabulous, well done.

lilolilmanchester · 11/01/2009 20:34

haven't abandoned you, but have abandoned the diet. REALLY bad weekend after being good all week. Will weigh in tomorrow then try to get back to sensible eating and drinking!

loler · 11/01/2009 22:50

I have been good and bad - the good is that had some sort of painful tummy thing so haven't wanted to eat (missed tea last night) but made up for it by going for pizza at lunch with a friend (childfree t'was lovely) - very healthy veg cottage pie followed by a terrys choc orange cookie (so worth it!)

DH away for 2 days so will heve to have cereal for tea for a couple of days.

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow - make sure you go to the loo first and breath in!

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 12/01/2009 10:51

Hi all, I managed to be fairly good yesterday, although not great.

We have been so busy with DD and trying to get her to sleep on her own we didn't have the energy to cook. Anyway, DH said we'd just have pizza but instead of the big Sainsbury's pizza he'd bought me for pizza night I only had on of those little Chicago Town pizzas. I was blimming starving afterwards, checked the box and it was less than 300 calories!! No wonder I was starved.

So, although I was bad and had pizza again, there really wasn't much of it.

Progress

lilolilmanchester · 12/01/2009 15:12

morning all. After an exceedingly naughty weekend, I weighed myself this morning. I've lost 2lb- partly due to being ill earlier in the week I think. I expect my excesses of the weekend will mean I don't lose much this week, but hopefully I won't have put anything on.
Today have had 2 Oatibix and lunch was a cupasoup and a ham sandwich. About to have some fruit to keep me going til tea (pork stew).
How's everyone else doing? Expected quite a few people to have dropped by today.... hope everyone's ok.
