....not necessarily the best kick-start to losing weight.
My Mum has just announced to my family that since I have put on weight, I am looking increasingly like my 20st rugby playing uncle. So, time to put away the pringles I fear! Anyone want to join me (after new year)

Yeah I suppose it is. I'm thinking of when I did weight watchers and they said to try and lose a stone a month. Not that it worked anyway.

NoShitSherlock · 22/01/2009 12:52

Hi All

Kayzr thats looks amazing but rather you than me

I have been seeking advice regarding my non weight loss and people seem to think my body has gotten used to the cal intake so I should increase them by about 500cals a day for a week and then reduce back down again. I am going to try it and see.

Hope you are all doing well

cariadambyth · 23/01/2009 16:45

Well, I've just finished my 8th chocolate hob nob , which along with last night's Indian take away and wine will explain my uncomfotably tight jeans. Hope you are all doing better than I am!

chancelloroftheexchequers · 23/01/2009 16:47

Cariad.

I've just had 8 chunks of dairy milk wholenut.

I think I might put the diet to one side for 2 weeks til I've given up breastfeeding

cariadambyth · 23/01/2009 20:20

I agree chancellor, I think you have to eat more than usual when you are breast feeding otherwise you'll feel run down and washed out. Apparently your body actually stores fat whilst you bf so you have good quality milk. I don't know if that's true but I have used it as an excuse for my wobbly tummy and muffin top plenty of times

kayzr · 25/01/2009 06:42

WOOHOO!!!

I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 6lbs!! I haven't even been trying this week as I was waiting until my 6 week check!!

cariadambyth · 25/01/2009 07:46

Wow Kayzr, that is fantastic, congratulations.

madhairjanuary · 25/01/2009 14:58

Hi, sorry for being awol, and well done to those who have lost and big hugs to all finding it hard, NSS it's a pain when you plateu isn't it?
Unfortunately I got v ill this week, and actually lost 10lbs and am 10 stone, I would be rejoicing at this as it was my first target, but i feel like utter shit and can hardly move (had chest infection and tummy bug, was sick 3 days and didn't eat another two) so this is NOT a good way of losing it. doubtless it will be up again as I start eating, my tummy won't take much so I guess I should take advantage and not increase my portions to previous levels, anyway I know it's a 'false' wieght loss iyswim. If I can redeem a coupld of those pounds it would be great, but would much prefer to lose it slowly and healthily, this week has been hell. so I'll come and join you again, and don't hate me for losing this much, it's not my fault, lol!

lilolilmanchester · 25/01/2009 20:44

madhair, sorry you've been so unwell. You've lost the weight but not the way you'd like to... hope you're feeling better soon. Forget about dieting til you're back to full strength. (Stay on this thread tho, we want to know how your recovery is going!)
Kayzr, that is awesome well done you. I am weighing in tomorrow but just had a bottle of wine, a roast dinner and fruit crumble so am not expecting miracles!

NoShitSherlock · 26/01/2009 08:24

Well done kayzr xx

madhair you sound like you have been to hell and back, hope you feel better soon and like lilo says keep us posted on how you are doing.

Good luck for today lilo

lilolilmanchester · 26/01/2009 10:30

Thanks NSS. Lost 1lb, brings my total to 4lb so far. I'm not going to make the half stone by end of Jan but at least I'm heading in the right direction!

CHEQUERSmate · 27/01/2009 18:33

Well done Kayzr, madhair and Lilo for losing.

I'm back and deciding to keep trying to lose weight and hoping by some miracle my metabolism revs up a bit when I give up breastfeeding.

Think there's something wrong with my scales, had a disparity of a pound and a half when I stepped on them twice this morning. Suppose it doesn't really matter, I'm still overweight either way.

Off for a gym induction this evening and walked three miles this morning. Going to keep it up now our sleep training with DD is finished and I'm not tied to the house putting her down for naps.

madhairday · 27/01/2009 20:42

Good luck chequers but take it easy on yourself.
Well done everyone, hang in there.
Feeling bit better today and appetite is back, so trying to keep portions down, but I would give anything for a bar of Dairy Milk right now.

lilolilmanchester · 29/01/2009 16:47

Well, I've just been in a meeting where I had a large chocolate muffin and two chocolate biscuits. Very annoyed with myself, should have had one or the other, not both. Hey ho! My next challenge is to try to take more exercise, but I am not a big fan of exercise. Will try to persuade myself to go for a swim at the weekend! Am very impressed with your exercise achievements Chequers.
Glad you're feeling a bit better madhairday.

lilolilmanchester · 02/02/2009 09:37

weighed myself this morning, not lost anything this last week. So failed to meet my 1/2 stone by end Jan target, but at least I am going in to Feb 4lbs lighter. Tho expect to gain some this week, 4 meals out (work related plus a couple of "dos" )

loler · 05/02/2009 12:05

hi - i'm still here but have been waiting to have anything to report - have just weighed myself and have some how managed to lose 7lb. Not sure how as have not changed eating habits at all (other than buying nasty mild cheddar so I'm put off eating it!).

Tried to go to a ww meeting on monday (first ever - little britain has put me off them!) - but was snowed in so had to stay home and eat chocolate!

Hoping that it keeps coming off!

lilolilmanchester · 05/02/2009 21:50

wow, loler that's fantastic!! Well done. How's everyone else doing?

lilolilmanchester · 09/02/2009 11:47

put on half a pound this week, which isn't surprising cos I've been out a lot. Need to re-focus.... anyone else still trying?

CHEQUERSmate · 10/02/2009 18:58

Hi Lilo, I'm back again. That's a shame about the half a pound but I guess it could be worse.

This week I've cut out alcohol, dairy, wheat and breastfeeding! So I'm hoping to see some change.

The only downer is that the weather is awful and it's still very snowy so I can't get out to do any exercise.

shortandsweet · 11/02/2009 15:37

I'm still here and finding it hard. Have gone a bit off track.

Hope to get back on it soon

cariadambyth · 11/02/2009 16:40

I'm still here too but seem to be going in the wrong direction!! I have put on about 3lbs recently. Will have to get back on track too. Hope you are all ok.

lilolilmanchester · 12/02/2009 17:37

Hi all, thought I'd been dumped for a while!!
I'd intended cutting out alcohol this week after a mad week last week but ended up having half a bottle of wine last night and have been invited out tomorrow. I KNOW I could just order a mineral water or diet coke, but.....

What I need is exercise but don't belong to a gym, too cold to think about running, and any other excuse you could think of.... I did buy a sala-size dvd last year, used it once. Maybe I should dig it out again.

shortandsweet · 12/02/2009 18:53

Have you go the wii lilo?

lilolilmanchester · 12/02/2009 23:08

no we don't have a wii

shortandsweet · 13/02/2009 05:38

Just asking because they have brought the fitness coach out and is fantastic. You personalise to yourself
