What we ate today in a calorie deficit thread

Hi all

I just thought I'd start this thread and add to it everyday as I think I struggle to figure out what to have for meals when losing weight - just thought it might help someone.

(At the moment I'm tending to have like 2 meals a day but sometimes 3 - there's no rules haha)

Breakfast

Cornflakes and semi skimmed milk with a cup of tea - 390 calories.

Half a protein bar - 70 calories.

Burger bowl - 447 calories - this was absolutely amazing, genuinely like a Big Mac haha and here's the recipe for anyone else who fancies it.. I changed it slightly.

125g - Mince beef - 155 kcal
110g - Baking potatoes - 118 kcal
17g - Cheese - 46 Kcal
20g - Ketchup - 21 kcal
20g - Mayo - 67 kcal
10g - Mustard - 9 kcal
Total 422 Kcals

Total around 907 calories which is way too low, I have about 600 left but I don't feel too good today, might have a snack later.

Calorie counting here and doing either 1200 or 1500 days.

Eleventy million apples and black coffees a day

Today:
Homemade veg soup or Covent Garden veg soup - 200 cal for a large bowl
Grilled mushrooms, toms, two egg omelette - approx 400 cals.
Fruit compote with a spoon of sugar for dessert - no idea.

I’ll occasionally have a ready meal, just because I like seeing the calories clearly stated! But in general not much processed food.

I’m going for volume eating, loosely - eating lots of low calorie foods.

I'm doing fast 800 but I'm not quite managing 800 this week.

Today I've had
Black coffee
Milk in 3 cups of tea
Blueberries and raspberries

Some chocolate (curly wurly)
Half a pot of tomato and basil soup
Grated cheese
Apple
Sprite Zero

Dinner will be:
Steak, salad, dressing.

Comes in at about 1100 cals

Today was Fat Friday haha

I had a Tim hortons breakfast -729 cals
Medium lemonade
Grilled bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage and a hash brown

A cheese string - 61 cals

Similar to the burger bowl but with chicken instead of - 300 cals

Total 1090

But we're having a Chinese tomorrow with friends so I'm saving my calories this week which is why they are a bit low atm

Tomorrow will be a banger Grin

I’m soooo glad I don’t live near a Tim Horton’s @TheresNoSuchThingAsBadThoughts , I’d be 90% timbits.

I didn’t count today but reckon I’m near 1200.

No breakfast
zillion coffees and rooibos teas
cabbage, pea and carrot curry/stir fry for lunch and dinner
5/6 tbsp of a beef mince thing alongside for dinner
apple + stewed fruit
two squares of aero

Feeling good today. I have a new outfit that definitely looks better for my weight loss, and the sun was shining down all day.

Oohhh great thread! Jumping on to watch. Today:

Breakfast : banana and a cup of tea- 140 cals

Lunch- egg mayo sandwich, bbq lentils chips and 2 quorn chilli bites- 456 calories

Dinner- chicken and chorizo casserole with cauliflower rice and tenderstem Brocoli and a jam doughnut- 559

Total of 1159

I also did 45 mins in the gym and a 45 min dog walk.

2x mugs of tea, slice of brown bread with butter and apple butter

Lunch -
Flour tortilla with natural peanut butter, raw carrot, pear, piece of string cheese

Dinner will be -
About a cup of mushroom tortellini, spinach, mushrooms, parmesan cheese
Frozen cherries

I'm going to do this now whilst I remember

It's been a very unhealthy day today but I banked calories this week (I'm doing sat-sat)

My calories today was 2581 (to remain in my deficit)

Breakfast was boring and it was a cup of tea and cereal - 394 calories

Dinner - KFC snack box with super charger dip - 609 calories

Tea - Chinese ( I'm sharing with family haha so we'll have beef chow mein, chips, curry sauce and spring rolls) - Roughly about 1400 cals

I won't eat after this so total calories today is 2403 calories (so actually below and well within calories even though it's a fatty day)

I've lost 5lbs since last Saturday though Grin

(You won't be seeing anymore take away meals (definitely more fruit and veg) from me unless it's a weekend and well planned haha)

A bit scuppered today because my kids insisted on McDonald’s for supper.

No breakfast
coffee x 3
herbal tea
sparkling water
veg stir fry for lunch, few tbsp of mince dish
big mac (just the burger) and diet coke for dinner.

I reckon I’m still in at 1200 or so. In a bit of a plateau at the moment but the overall direction on the scale is good so just carrying on. Down from 87.5 to 81.5kg (so about a stone) over 8 weeks.

Today I had:
2 eggs, 40g cheese, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms
100g Greek ff yoghurt and blueberries
Dinner is 2 pork sausages, 200g potato made into wedges, carrots and spring greens.
Snacks I have had an apple, some crab sticks and a Sprite Zero
I do have some trip drinks for later, they are 19 cals each.

Total comes to 1200, 68g carbs. Much better day today. I went to the gym for circuits as well.

again stir fry veg + a mince thing, lunch and dinner
loads of coffee, apples
One low-calorie probiotic drink, 20 cal or so.

My TDEE is over 2500 and to lose between 1.5 and 2lbs a week my calorie amount is pretty high at 1750 deficit! Today I had

B, marmite toast and a banana -276
L, baked potato, a little cheese and salad (mixed leaves, cucumber, pepper, tomatoes) -286
D, half a crosta and mollica pizza with homemade rainbow slaw -754

Snacks - rice cakes with Nutella, apple, coffee - 380

Just jumping in here to say my new favourite low cal snack is kallo veggie cakes (any flavour but I like the beetroot ones) with seriously spreadable cheese thinly spread and sliced pickled onions. I actually dreamt about this snack the other day I love it so much.

Today I had
B- a leftover pork sausage
L- sourdough thins, garlic and herb cheese, Red Leicester and chutney
D- chicken, 1 spoon of mash, brocolli and cheese sauce, sugar free jelly and a kiwi
S- 2 homemade brownies (v small)

That's 1620 calories.
I ran 10km and walked 4km with the dog.

Did a 5k fast-walk this morning (took me 45 mins which is about right!) Will probably do a 20 minute light weights workout later too.

Breakfast- White Chocolate Kvarg, Raspberries, Oats, mixed seeds and a little honey - 200 kcal

Lunch- Mushroom Soup, Ham salad sandwich and a gym kitchen protein yoghurt - 800kcal

Dinner- Spicy Bean Burger x2 with salad - 600kcal

Snacks- Apple, 2xSatsuma and coffee! - 150kcal

Total for day is 1750

One 380ish ready meal for lunch, another for dinner - those healthier, protein + plant types.
Lots of black coffee, sparkling water, apples.
One bourbon cream - 68 cal.

Portion of sweet potato and chicken curry with steam bag veg.
Apple
Cooked chicken.
Tiny homemade brownie
Can of Sprite Zero
Salmon fillet with 1/4 pouch of merchant gourmet French lentils and a whole plateful of spring greens and brocolli

1267 calories.

Today, I have had:

Breakfast- Small wholemeal slice of toast with peanut butter, cup of tea

Lunch- salad (chicken tikka chunks, boiled egg, lettuce and red pepper)

Dinner- 1/4 ham leek and potato pie, mashed potato and peas.

Snacks- handful of candy cotton grapes, 2 maryland cookies, cup of tea.

Total - 986!! There was 510 in my dinner but minimal in breakfast and lunch. I'm bloody hungry now though.

100g lidl special flakes with red berries and 125ml semi Skimmed milk

Lidl wholemeal sandwich thin, 80g chicken breast, 10g salad cream 20g lettuce, 40g cherry tom's and a small mini cheddars packet.

Jacket potato, 33g(over grated 😂) 50% less fat cheddar. 400g homemade turkey mince chilli.

2ltr water.

Technically have 190kcal left but going to try not to eat that. Because I'm full and I don't need to. (But that's hard because I'm allowed it. 😂) ^^
