Any serial diet failers want to give it another go?

After all, it is Monday and Mondays are a good diet starting day!

I've pretty much hit rock bottom and am really down that I can't seem to sort myself out.

There have been many failed attempts where I lose a few pounds then feel pleased with myself so I scoff loads of chocolate to celebrate my loss. Rinse and repeat.

I am now 12st 7, I weighed myself first thing.

Anyone want to give it another go?

Me! 🙋‍♀️

I really need to lose weight! I'm starting today but haven't planned to start 😬

I always loose a few kg and then binge it all back on! And more!

I'm the heaviest I've ever been, including in pregnancy! 🤦🏻‍♀️🫣

I need to lose lots but focussing on losing the first 3kg

We can do this!!

Greenfingers37 · 24/02/2025 10:31

I'd like to join too. We're going away this week so probably won't realistically start until next week but looking for some support and accountability. I've lost a measly 5lbs since the start of January!!

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 24/02/2025 10:46

Me!

Weighed myself this morning - 13st 7lb. Horrified. Knew I'd put a lot on since last time, but didn't realise quite how much!

I'm peri menopausal so that makes it harder. I have zero willpower, but have a lovely holiday booked in May, so am pretty motivated now.

North87 · 24/02/2025 10:53

I'd love to join please. I started a few years ago at 14 stone 10. I worked really hard and got down to 9 stone.Unfortunately I've had an awful few months and I'm now back to 11 stone! I really need to stop making excuses and sort myself out. I felt amazing last summer and was able to wear anything I wanted. I need to get myself back to that.

DirtyDensDog · 24/02/2025 12:22

Hello and thank you for joining me.

I didn't really have a plan to start today. Something was telling me to get on the scales earlier. I am the highest weight that I have ever been and I hate catching a glimpse of myself in mirrors.

So fed up with having no clothes. Well I do, I have a wardrobe full of some really nice things but I no longer fit into them.

I half-heartedly started yesterday but didn't weigh myself until today. I have been heavier, but not much. I know what you mean about clothes... I'd love to be able to wear my lovely dresses again.

ForAzureSeal · 24/02/2025 12:29

I'll join please. I weighed myself yesterday after I got a shock at a photo of me. Weight has crept up to highest ever - almost 91kg (over 14 stone). Also in my 50s so hormones working against me.

I saw someone on another thread talking about starting with halving your portions and filling up the other side of plate with veggies so going to start with that and ditch desserts and see if that makes any difference. I can't face anything extreme.

I am reasonably active (gym, running and yoga) and have the opposite of body dysmorphia 😁 so genuinely had no clue I had put on so much weight!

You're not alone! I have so many nice clothes that don't fit me either!

Thanks for starting the thread and good luck!

itsjustthewayitwas · 24/02/2025 12:36

Me. I am 12.9 and really need to lose three stones.

stripeymonster · 24/02/2025 12:40

I'll join too. Totally agree with the not realising how big you are until you weigh yourself or see a photo of myself. My bedroom mirror 🪞 doesn't reflect what I look like - perhaps I just don't look properly!

Incakewetrust · 24/02/2025 12:43

Me please! I'm 15st 11lbs and feel utterly disgusted with myself.
In the past 5 years I've been between 10.5st and 16st.
I want to get back to 10.5 but I always give up and I don't know why.

birdcake · 24/02/2025 12:46

Yes please! NEED to go on a diet. Winter has been hard. Doesn't help that my kid only wants to eat beige food and refuses any cooked dish I make that could be vaguely healthy for us to eat together. Planning on intermittent fasting (OMAD or similar!). Too scared to go on scales but am starting at the gym later today and aim to go once a week minimum, with walking up hills and yoga added in! Thank you OP for starting this thread.

NerrSnerr · 24/02/2025 12:57

I have started today too. I also weighed at 12st7. I am short and when I see myself on our security camera I'm like a round ball.

I am calorie counting and cutting out pasta, bread and potato as I just eat too much of them.

I really, really need to do this- we have a big holiday in the summer and I want to wear what I want and not have my thighs rubbing together.

wizzler · 24/02/2025 12:58

Me too. I'm 12st 5
I know I can do it just need to be in the zone. I've got a big birthday coming up and am horrified that any photos will show all my double chins for ever more

We are the exact same weight. How tall are you? I'm 5'4 and look like a barrel.

Shall we have Mondays as our big fat weigh in day every week?

OP posts:
Nanny31 · 24/02/2025 14:03

Room for another!?

My weight is constantly up & down! :(

Did so well to lose 2 stone last year and now it's crept back up.

Weight - 12st 2 / height 5ft 5

I have a holiday booked end of March so would really like to be under 12 and for one again feel fantastic in clothes and not like a whale.

Good luck everyone :)

NerrSnerr · 24/02/2025 14:03

@DirtyDensDog I'm 5ft 1 and I'm basically a beach ball on legs.

I'm happy to weigh in on a Monday.

Yes I'm in for Monday weigh ins!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/02/2025 17:01

I'll join you! I started the year at 163.5lbs and today I weigh..... 162.2lbs. That's not even 1.5lbs loss in 8 bloody weeks! I've been calorie counting but it's just so depressing. Today I started fast800, which yes, is more calorie counting, but I think I need something drastic to get a bit of a start. Currently all I've done this year is lose and gain the same water weight which is why one big meal and it all goes back on again. So it's time to cut the carbs, shrink the portions and focus myself.

Dollydaydream100 · 24/02/2025 17:06

Are none of you interested in Mounjaro? I've lost 16lbs in 5 weeks on it and it's amazing! For the first time in my life I KNOW I'm going to hit my goal no problem, and quickly. Obviously you have to pay for it privately but if you can afford it it's a game changer.

Personally I'd rather not. I am on so much medication (for non weight related stuff) it might come to it in the end, and I would do it but I'd rather go solo.

I think once I got to goal I'd stop paying and get fat again as I wouldn't have changed anything- which I have done in the past from dieting but maybe one day good habits will stick.

Bookaholic73 · 24/02/2025 20:20

Hi, can I join too.
Im currently 11st 7lbs and want to lose a stone before my holiday in 11 weeks.
I’ve tried so many times in the past but can never stick to a calorie deficit.
I want to try again because I’d love to wear a bikini on holiday.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/02/2025 20:31

@Dollydaydream100 not everyone qualifies for mounjaro, I'm bmi overweight but I'd have to gain 2-3 stone to be bmi 30
