Any serial diet failers want to give it another go?

After all, it is Monday and Mondays are a good diet starting day!

I've pretty much hit rock bottom and am really down that I can't seem to sort myself out.

There have been many failed attempts where I lose a few pounds then feel pleased with myself so I scoff loads of chocolate to celebrate my loss. Rinse and repeat.

I am now 12st 7, I weighed myself first thing.

Anyone want to give it another go?

Woke up full of cold but I’m trying to walk everyday. So looks like I’ll be wrapping up and dragging my carcass through the fields for an hour today. Food has been good. I did have a blip on the crisps yesterday after a food shop but I counted the cals and adjusted accordingly so I don’t feel like I’ve thrown everything away. First weigh on Monday so I’ve got to be good over the weekend.

Bookaholic73 · 28/02/2025 09:33

I’m starting today if anyone wants to join me?

I’ve just written a shopping list as I need some fruit & veg.
Im going to plan my meals for this weekend, as the weekends are always my downfall!

They mine down fall too as it's weekend and am out of my routine. I just want to relax and eat something different. I like to treat my self to total different meal compare to what I would have during the week. That's something I need to change.

My weekend downfall is chocolate and wine. Lots of wine.
So I’m going to have a sober weekend this weekend, and not eat any chocolate. That’s my goal. 😬

Haven’t RTFT yet but would love to join you all.

I decided to massively reduce my sugar intake early last week and am already seeing great results on the scales. I am find it fairly easy as well tbh but that could all change at any point when I decide I NEED a load of cake and chocolate and then give in.

We have a holiday booked in April so would love to be well on my way to my goal of 9 stone by then. Am currently 10 stone 9.2.

For anyone who doesn’t already have it I can’t recommend the Happy Scale app enough. You log your weight and it gives you predictions on when you’ll hit your target. If I keep going as I am (I probably won’t!) then I’ll be at target by the end of May. That is so motivating to me.

Bookaholic73 · 28/02/2025 14:52

Dinner tonight is meatballs and pasta. I’ll be having meatballs with salad and veg instead of pasta.

I've been using Happy Scale too. I recommend.

can I join you? I’m starting today (again 😞). My head just hasn’t been in the right place recently but new month and all that. I have about 3 stone to lose but I’m counting in BMI blocks which is roughly 5lb so I’d like to lose one by the time I go away on 25 March. I use happy scale too and would recommend.

tealandteal · 01/03/2025 18:46

How has everyone got on today? It is the weekend so I have had a small pudding, still in a very slight calorie deficit but I think if I don’t have a small treat I won’t keep to it.

scaredysquiggle · 01/03/2025 18:48

Please can I join? I've lost and gained the same two stone and I'm now peri and just getting bigger.

I work full time at a desk job and there are so many snacks in the office and I'm really struggling with my mental health. I've got arthritis in my hips so my old exercise routines aren't possible anymore.

But o still want to do this. This evening is my first step

ForAzureSeal · 01/03/2025 21:18

Today and yesterday have not been great. Today in particular I've had too much sugar. Going to try the happy scale app as a motivation.

DirtyDensDog · 02/03/2025 19:35

It's weigh day tomorrow.

I've not been the best over the weekend but it could have been much worse.

Hi
Can I join too please, I weighed in last Wed at 13st4 and looking to loose 2 stone. At the moment I'm feeling motivated and ready to go, first few days have been good - hoping I can keep up the momentum.

Greenfingers37 · 02/03/2025 21:26

Having been on holiday last week, I'm starting tomorrow with my first weigh in. I have a cruise in early June so am aiming for half a stone loss every month for 3 months, 1.5 stones in total.
My downfall is the old vino which I'm giving up for Lent (starting on Wednesday this week). Also going high protein, very low carb. Sounds so easy! 😳🤣

wizzler · 02/03/2025 22:33

Good luck to people weighing in for week 1 tomorrow morning. I have not been a saint by any means but I have properly tried

If there's any justice the scales will recognise that I've not had mini eggs when I wanted them , that I swapped chips for salad and that I did do some gardening even if only for an hour

wizzler · 03/03/2025 07:14

Lost 1.5 pounds. Reasonably happy with that and feel like I'm heading in the right direction

CoralDreamer · 03/03/2025 07:43

I’ve lost 1lb which I’m disappointed with. I think my diet is too carb heavy, so I’m going to keep going, keep up with the walking and make some adjustments to the carbs I’m consuming.

6strings1song · 03/03/2025 08:11

Down to 12st 1.7lbs this week. Always include the decimal place! 😅Last Monday I was 12st 4.8lbs... seems like a big loss of 3lbs, but I have been in an up and down plateau for 2 weeks prior to this and I had started to waiver and had some carb heavy meals, so a lot of water weight has just been re-shed. Aunt Flo is due this week, so will be interesting to see what she does to that loss!

Anyway good to see a new lower number on the scales. Good luck this morning everyone!

itsjustthewayitwas · 03/03/2025 08:37

I am 12.7.2 today. Losing steadily if not by much. I’m not counting calories though just upping exercise and cutting out carbs as much as I can.

ForAzureSeal · 03/03/2025 09:09

Pleased with week 1 loss. Had a few wobbles but also really upped my veggie and protein intake and reduced portions and that seems to have made a difference.

DirtyDensDog · 03/03/2025 12:18

Well done all of you. It feels like it's been a long week since starting this thread.

I do feel in a slightly better place now that I have set my mind to losing some weight. I'm taking this 7lbs at a time.

Start weight 12st 7
1st weigh in 12st 3.25

so that's 3.75lbs gone.

Thanks for sticking with it.

OP posts:
Croc258 · 03/03/2025 14:38

Last Monday weight 10 stone 11.2
This Monday weight 10 stone 9.8

1.4lb loss which I know is completely reasonable but I’d prefer more Grin

Well done all of you on your losses.

kalokagathos · 03/03/2025 17:14

I had great success with Zoe program. It was easy but you have to have a mindset that accepts some of the food habits you will have to ditch for life or how you "cheat" to pair up naughty food with good food/ or switch timing of eating naughty foods/ couple with immediate walk. I got to my target weight in 3 months by December and I'm still here. I am very data driven though, and found it fascinating how my body reacts to certain foods. I basically ditched rice, pasta, potatoes, bread completely. And now, I have a flat tummy. At 44!

NerrSnerr · 03/03/2025 17:17

I didn't weigh this morning but will do tomorrow. Haven't been great the last couple of days but could have been much worse.
