!!! JULY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE !!!

wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

tmommy22 · 30/06/2024 18:35

Meee please!
I'm due to get married in December and I just feel so fat and yuck!

I start well with diet and exercise but as the month goes on, I turn into a secret eater. 10kg will do me good too

wefly · 30/06/2024 18:42

@tmommy22 okay let's DO IT!!

What is your chosen approach?

Today has been a bit of a write off... lots of snacks and naughtiness. I'm so ready to wake up tomorrow and start this July weight loss & health mission!

Hey!! I’m with you! I’ve been on a weight loss journey for age and just started really trying again in May. And I feel so good but I Have fallen off the wagon slight end of June but I’m soooo excited to join this and have a ‘fresh’ start. My SW was close to 13st and I’m around 9stone 12 now.

My goal weigh is around 9 stone 6 lbs. So 6lbs to go :)

I don’t tend to over control my food as I have a history with disordered eating and I don’t want to trigger that. What I like to talk about the most is how I feel and non scale victories. I just try to cut down on snacks and sugar and eat healthy and high protein and lots of veg. Im also keen on being stricter with the gym this month, aiming to go 3x a week for a month to see if I can get into a good rhythm.

I have been so so happy with the way I look this past month and I just feel like it’s really
made a difference to my life and most specifically my confidence!
My husband never says anything about my weight but I notice waaaay more how he has been commenting positively about my looks way way more.

anyways as I said slightly off the wagon this week but back on it tomorrow and for July.

I have holidays scattered throughout but I’m determined to stay active and healthy whilst enjoying them all!

wefly · 30/06/2024 19:12

@braveandwellbehaved

So happy you're here. You've done amazing already- well done 😍 you'll totally lose that 6lbs.

Feeling confident in your body is the best thing ever. I cannot wait for that.

I'm so excited to start!!!!

I will join :)
Overall I have about a stone to lose until I’m where I’d like to be. This morning I printed out a workout plan for July. My birthday is 1st August so throughout July I want to stick to my workout plan and avoid all the crap food and see how what I can achieve!!

So my plan is to workout 5-6 times a week, drink 2L of water daily and avoid the rubbish food.

we can do it 😃

wefly · 30/06/2024 19:30

@Frankgodno that sounds like a brilliant plan. You'll do it.

Here's to feeling and looking fab 😁

Morning. I'd like to join, I have about a stone to lose and need some accountability and support. I'm just having my black coffee, I do intermittent fasting so don't eat till lunch. Feeling good this morning despite a rubbish night's sleep, let's do this!

DirtyDensDog · 01/07/2024 08:22

Morning, well I got through my first day yesterday, I've been really struggling to actually start.

I'm going to try really hard to stick to this. I'm sick and tired of feeling so fat and fed up but somehow not managing to start and do something about it.

Have a lovely day.

wefly · 01/07/2024 09:02

Welcome @LostaraYil and @DirtyDensDog

Let's really use this thread to motivate us and keep us going.

Snack - rice cakes with avocado (200)

Lunch - salmon fillet with spinach & brocoli (300 cals)

Dinner - chicken thighs and salad (400)

KillersQueen · 01/07/2024 09:38

I'd love to join you! Need to lose 2 stone in the long term, but if I can start to shift some lbs in the next month I'll be delighted. In the midst of perimenopause so it's not easy, but I'm so fed up of how I look Confused

My plan is:
Track food and aim for around 1500 cals
10k steps a day
3-4 strength/ weights per week

Looking forward to reading about everyone's successes Smile

wefly · 01/07/2024 09:46

@KillersQueen that's a strong plan.

It's just about getting the ticks in the boxes each day, isn't it!

Hope your day has started well 😍

OP posts:
Shattereddreamsparkway · 01/07/2024 13:13

Today is the first day that I have found difficult - real sugar cravings. I’m doing The Human Being Diet so I don’t know what calories as protein and veg are weighed but today I had:

2 soft boiled eggs with spinach mushrooms & tomatoes
mackerel & avocado with salad
beef stir fry with vegetables
2 litres of water so far I am for 3 and a black coffee with lunch.

I hope tomorrow isn’t so bad!

Potterton · 01/07/2024 13:56

I'd love to join. I'm feeling VERY ready! I've got 15lbs to lose and am tracking cals on my fitbit app. Having high protein breakfast and a massive salad every lunchtime. Bit more of a flexible dinner but generally lower carb as I know that suits me best.

Have been exercising well for months and gained muscle but also gained weight, so that's my focus now.

I had a weird idea to motivate myself: I realised I'm going to feel so much lighter without carrying this 15lbs. So I bought five 454g (1lb) pots of strawberry jam - this was the maximum I felt I could buy at once without inviting comment at the till - and I'm going to buy 15 in total and line them up, as a visual reminder of the weight. Then remove one at a time as I lose each pound.

They're bloomin heavy so it's a clear tangible reminder. Crazy or genius?

Frankgodno · 01/07/2024 14:19

@wefly making a plan is good but sticking to it ….. is the test haha! I don't work on Mondays so usually find it harder as I am less busy or I will snack if I am bored.

@Potterton I think thats a good idea about the jam jars as a visual representation 🤩 what will you do with them after? Make a large Victoria sponge? 😆 😋

wefly · 01/07/2024 14:52

@Shattereddreamsparkway sugar cravings can be really intense. Just keep thinking about how you wanna feel.

You've got this !

OP posts:
wefly · 01/07/2024 14:53

@Potterton oh that's an interesting idea. I think that will be indeed very motivating.

Hope you are having a successful day so far :)
