!!! JULY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE !!!

wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Hi, can I join a day late too?

I would like to lose three stone and, most importantly, keep it off. I've been up and down the same six pounds since January and I'm finding it much harder since hitting 50 to lose weight. But I've been in denial about my calorie intake, particularly with snacking. I've restarted 5:2 and aiming for 1800 on other days at my current weight.

My initial goal is to lose 9lbs this month (random number but takes me to next stone down), to look better in a wedding guest dress without layers of shape wear. Mid term is to drop a size or two to fit my nice clothes in my wardrobe. And long term goal is to lose and maintain enough to have reduction surgery.

@McMumster @LuckyPlant

Of course!! Welcome!!

Looking forward to having you both here as we all work towards healthier versions of ourselves xx

How's everyone doing?

I still need to do my steps. Aiming for a walk before dinner shortly. Food been good so far. 1000 cals consumed and 700 to go x

I love the jam jar visual representation @Potterton let us know if anyone spots them in your bedroom and asks what they are!

This thread is great to keep motivation to keep going by reading peoples losses well done all

KillersQueen · 02/07/2024 17:30

Hello 👋 to all the new losers!

Not in the habit of checking in in the mornings yet, that's another target for me 😊

Calorie count going well today, everything tracked and on track. Did my 2nd workout and loved it - arms and abs, both of which need attention. Will hurt tomorrow!

Off the pace with steps because rain. Should make it to around 8k by the end of the day so that will have to do.

Loving reading about everyone's approaches on here. It has inspired me to try harder with 16:8 most days 💪

Keep up the good work everyone! Can't wait to see how we all progress.

wefly · 02/07/2024 17:46

@KillersQueen well done on the workouts! That's amazing.

I'm currently at 1k in my steps... I am heading out now though. If I can make it to 5 today, I'll be happy and tomorrow back up to my goal of 8.

Striving for a progress, nor perfection mindset 💪🏼

I'm between 66/68 kg atm (around 10.5 stone). I'm trying a calorie counting app and more exercise.
Want to lose about a stone.

Frankgodno · 02/07/2024 18:30

wins for today:
stuck to my food plan, snacked on cucumber and an apple, somehow have (so far) managed to resist homemade scones and jam that rest of household have had 🥲
completed my workout, albeit in 2 parts

hoping to feel less snotty and gross tomorrow to keep it up!!

well done everyone, Day 2 done !!

wefly · 02/07/2024 18:47

@Shennie100 Brilliant. You'll smash it I am sure.

@Frankgodno Wow that's amazing. Well done. I've actually come down unwell too now. In bed already with no dinner! Steps very low but also so we're cals. Hoping we both feel better tomorrow xx

OP posts:
wefly · 02/07/2024 18:50

TODAY:

BREAKFAST - handful nuts and some watermelon 200cals

SNACK - small bowl green olives 100cals

LUNCH - 4 tiny eggs with 2 slices toast & butter 650cals

SNACK- few cherries & salted cashews 200cals

No dinner as feeling unwell :(

Total - 1150 cals
Goal - 1700 cals

GOAL STEPS - 8000
ACHIEVED - 3000

Not an ideal day as I've come down sick but also seeing the win which is that I'm definitely in a deficit 😬

Hoping I'm better tomorrow x

Frankgodno · 02/07/2024 18:56

@wefly ah no there is so much going around atm!! Hope
you feel better soon too 💖

well done today! I love olives but always forget about them for a snack!!

GreenMarigold · 02/07/2024 18:59

Today has gone ok so far! Granola for breakfast, no morning snacking, salad for lunch, hummus and breadsticks mid afternoon and veg-heavy Spag Bol for dinner. Now have to try not to eat anything more this eve.

5k steps so far, hoping to get to 10 by the end of the day.

wefly · 02/07/2024 19:07

@Frankgodno I know! My little is in her first year of nursery so it's constant viruses in this house😂😂

wefly · 02/07/2024 19:08

@GreenMarigold that sounds like an awesome day. Good luck with the steps x

I’ve done 35mins exercise today, and had a tasty BLT salad for lunch. Dinner was tuna pasta bake. I feel like my meals are pretty good, but it’s the snacks I struggle with! I had two time outs and a dairylea dunker! Still just about in my allowance today though!

Inspirationfailure · 02/07/2024 20:44

Day 2 nearly done 👍
I managed another OMAD today; tuna pasta for dinner. Now just need to stay out of the kitchen for the rest of the evening!
Tomorrow will be more of a challenge as going out for lunch. Will have to resist the pizza and stick with salad.
Sending get well wishes to those who need it!

LostaraYil · 02/07/2024 21:30

Good day today. Yoghurt and berries for lunch, 3 eggs and an avocado as a snack and salmon and salad for dinner. 2 dog walks and some weights. I feel so much better when I eat like this, I just need to avoid life getting in the way of it.

Castlerigg · 02/07/2024 23:50

Didn't achieve my step goal today, but did stay within my calorie goal, and didn't drink wine or eat fudge, as I was tempted to. I'm calling that a win for today.

Eumie · 03/07/2024 06:35

Morning all! Are we feeling motivated today??

I slept badly last night as I appear to have another cold and a cough. Today is my day off though so my plan is to go to yoga and then rest in bed!

I also need to go to the shops, and I’m sorely tempted to buy some jam as suggested upthread. Being able to visualise progress sounds so amazing. But I don’t eat jam! Maybe I should get flour or tins of soup instead?🤔

LostaraYil · 03/07/2024 07:07

Good morning, everyone. I feel so much less bloated this morning, it is so worth it not eating sugar and other junk. Plan for today is salad with feta for lunch, eggs as a snack, probably chilli for dinner.

KillersQueen · 03/07/2024 07:16

Goooood morning!

Hope those of you feeling poorly, start to feel much better today Flowers

I'm about to go for a 3 mile walk, then do my live Caroline's Circuits at 9am (not linked to CC in any way but can't believe how much I'm enjoying the classes and app!). Haven't planned meals yet but confident I can stick to my 1500 cals today.

Have a great day - we've got this 💪

wefly · 03/07/2024 09:47

Morning everyone!!!

Love seeing your morning messages. It's so motivating knowing we are all on this journey together.

I'm feeling much better today. Thank goodness.

Todays goals :

8k steps
1700 cals

WE HAVE GOT THIS GUYS!

Frankgodno · 03/07/2024 11:54

Morning (nearly afternoon) everyone!!

I’m still poorly but I had a much better night sleep overall so on the mend for sure. Still got my workout done this morning ✅

food plan: Smoothie/ Aubergine Harissa Salad/ Mustard Chicken for dinner

I’m working today so find it easier to distract myself and keep busy!!

keep going everyone 😃

wefly · 03/07/2024 12:32

I ended up having to get first meal from a service station due to an overrunning appointment.

Sandwich in a box, Pringles and a smoothie. Not the best choice but still within calories and was actually very tasty 😂

Will aim to get extra vegetables and goodness into my dinner 🍴

OP posts:
Castlerigg · 03/07/2024 13:30

I did ten minutes' walk on the treadmill first thing today, and I'm aiming for 6k steps.

Latte for breakfast (I never eat breakfast so that's standard for me), egg, chicken breast and chorizo for lunch, and later cottage pie for dinner.

146.2 lb this morning.
