wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Hi all, reading all this and just feeling so yuk about myself recently. Mid forties, and whilst I don't mind what I see in mirror, I look awful and fat and yuk in photos (can you have reverse body dismorphia?!) I pretty much do intermittent fasting and did shift a stone but half has crept back on (so don't eat till 11am ISH after dinner 1930 night before) and I mostly do 10k steps a day, and 3/4 days I get 30 mins active mins with a good brisk walk,, I feel reasonably fit and strong, do lots of lifting gardening etc but i just must be eating so wrong as I cannot shift weight and just have this awful belly! I just don't know what to try!? Slimming world or something to be answerable to? Am 5ft1 and 72kgs / 11st 6 ISH. Any help and support!!? Appreciated!

@Needtodosomething25

Welcome 💪🏼💪🏼

Sorry that you're having a tough time. Perhaps you can share your daily eats here and we can offer any tips/ ideas. Also the accountable nature of doing that can really be helpful.

X

Hey everyone,

Feeling incredibly MEH today after a terrible nights sleep. But I'm determined to have a somewhat positive day anyway.

Just did a very lightweight/ relaxed session in the gym. Food so far has been:

Protein porridge with berries
Protein bar

Going to a bbq shortly and will not overeat.

Looking forward to waking up tomorrow with a new week ahead of me x

Welcome @Needtodosomething25 , hope you are ok. I can totally relate to the photo issue!! Agree what is your diet like? I am always super impressed by those who IF because I tried it multiple times before and really really struggle with it!

a cinema trip has thrown me completely off today! Started off good with a 25 min yoga stretch and my smoothie but now much pick’n’mix has been consumed 🙃
will damage control, drink lots of water and a healthy dinner.
drawing a line here.

weigh day tomorrow too 😨

moosey89 · 07/07/2024 12:45

@Needtodosomething25 welcome! For me, weight loss is always down to diet, and how many calories I eat without even realising. Little bits like olive oil, mayonnaise etc can have lots of calories. If you've not tried calorie counting before I highly recommend it, not as a forever thing but really to understand what you're eating, how big portions should be etc.

Needtodosomething25 · 07/07/2024 15:40

Thanks @wefly , I usually do black coffee mornings and water and will have either crackers/rye crackers with chicken bacon type filler toppings and salad but I probably need to look at the cals in the mayo tbh! Or I walk to my town and get something, I stay away from Sandwiches and pastas. I have fruit or nuts for snacks or corn thins. Normal dinners and jacket potatoes, chicken and rice, stir frys etc. writing it down I think I need to look at sauces and sugar content more tbh! I have a sweet tooth and if I buy a packet of anything I can easily eat it all,I can't do one square of dark choc etc! I wonder if a stint at slimming world might help kick start me and help me get in the zone? Thanks all for any support, we can do this!

wefly · 07/07/2024 18:32

Oh, guyssssss I've not had a good day today at all. Snacked to my hearts content on anything and everything.

Trying to put it behind me now. And not beat myself up.

New day tomorrow 🌅

Needtodosomething25 · 07/07/2024 19:15

Hi @wefly , we definitely all have those days! We ended up at a play cafe because of they weather (small person to entertain) so I also started badly sharing a panini and chips! But having had a think, made a dinner with lots of veg for me, and made up some healthy lunches for the week. Quinoa, roasted tomatoes, squash and cauli, ham and feta. I think better planning to avoid those 'oh I'll just have that' moments is a good start for me. Needed a butt kick alright!!

wefly · 07/07/2024 19:35

@Needtodosomething25 that's amazing how you managed to get straight back on a good path. I sadly, did not 😂😂

Starting the week tomorrow with a big supermarket shop and loading up on all the healthy stuff.

Was feeling so good last week. Need to get back to that.

Frankgodno · 07/07/2024 20:09

dont worry @wefly today was a write off for me too.
back on it tomorrow 😃

Eumie · 07/07/2024 20:17

My weekend has been 50/50, I was doing well yesterday but we met some friends at an event so I had a few beers, pizza for lunch, then I was shattered when we got home so had curry!

Today I’ve been solo parenting my toddler, so a couple times I’ve had to sneak away to eat some chocolate just to keep myself going!
I’ve also had some wine now they’re in bed as it’s been a long day!

YouG0GlenCoco · 07/07/2024 22:47

Missed the first week of July but hoping I can sneak in and join this thread! I really need the accountability and support! I have a hen do at the end of next month and I just want to be able to look at myself in the mirror/pictures and actually feel good about how I look. I don't like to weigh too much or focus on how much I need to lose because in the past I have got a bit fixated on numbers and beat myself up if it's not what I think it should be. I'm not sure how to measure progress other than that though to keep myself motivated!

My biggest issues I think are snacks and not having the energy to cook myself a healthy dinner. Dh has IBD and tends to have a few safe meals he sticks to the majority of the time, which are not really what I like. My dc both have quite restricted diets and just making sure they are actually eating enough to keep them going can be exhausting! I seem to survive on snacks through the day and then something quick but not healthy for dinner, or a bowl of cereal.

I'm off to have a proper read through the full thread to get some tips now and hopefully plan my food for the week ahead!

MiaN · 08/07/2024 04:29

First weigh in, 1kg down. 1740 cal average for the week happy with that and 3 strength training sessions & 10k steps a day

LostaraYil · 08/07/2024 06:55

Good morning. Yesterday was a bit of a write off, but it's a new day and a new start today. I've already made my lunch of yoghurt with berries and whey protein, eggs in the afternoon and probably chilli for dinner. I have a busy day at work so 10,000 steps should be no problem and yoga class this evening. Let's go.

Castlerigg · 08/07/2024 06:59

Morning, I'm starting the week on 146.4 lbs, which is pretty good. I've just cooked a pack of chicken mince, and when that's cooled I'll make some salad to take to work for my lunch.

I went a bit too low carb / high protein towards the end of last week, and didn't drink enough water, so made myself constipated and uncomfortable. Lesson learned. This week I shall be more balanced.

I had a nice weekend but didn't pay much attention to calories - had a cocktail evening with friends, which was lovely, and had fish & chips another night. I reckon I can relax a bit on the weekends, if I stay on track during the week.

Frankgodno · 08/07/2024 08:27

Monday Weigh In: -2lbs and 1% body fat lost
happy with that 🥳
I have 12lbs to lose until my goal weight
not sure what goal body fat to aim for but LESS 😂
not going to take body tape measurements again until end of July

Im going to plan a treat in this week so that I can look forward to it and hopefully control myself on the emotional/tired/bored days. When I am really struggling Im going to go for a walk/read my book/watch trash tv as a treat 😂

plan for today:
breakfast: smoothie
lunch: miso tofu aubergine
dinner: fajitas
will report calories later

leg workout done ✅

@YouG0GlenCoco welcome! Instead of the scale you could take body measurements or progress photos!

well done on your loss @MiaN 🥳🥳🥳

wefly · 08/07/2024 11:08

Morning all,

Okay. I am back in the zone. I've just started my day with yoghurt, melon, muesli and greens powder.

Planning an evening walk and swim this evening. X

Needtodosomething25 · 08/07/2024 12:47

@wefly and all, yes, always just get back in it and don't dwell on the bad days, the important thing is getting back to it! Any snack ideas appreciated! Have had my quinoa salad and apple and just feel hungry!! I need to portion my snacks ie only bring in what I need!!

wefly · 08/07/2024 13:30

@Needtodosomething25

I had oatcakes for a snack today and they're really filling. Plain as was in the car but usually I'd put on nut butter or butter & marmite.

KillersQueen · 08/07/2024 13:30

Hi lovely losers! Well done to those of you who have lost lbs or inches (or kg and cm!) 🫶

The weekend was a write-off for me too, but back on it today. I don't plan to weigh or measure every week, I just want to feel less bloated, so back on the tracking case today 💪

Frankgodno · 08/07/2024 18:09

I snacked on carrot sticks today with a dip. I had left over aubergine from lunch so mixed it in blender to make a dip 😋
greek yoghurt and berries is a good snack too!

heres my daily summary for accountability:

breakfast smoothie: 366 cals
lunch: miso tofu & aubergine with brown rice: 469 calories
dinner: fajitas: 584 calories
snack: carrot sticks & dip: 73 calories

total: 1493

kitchens closed for me.

well done everyone!!

Needtodosomething25 · 08/07/2024 18:31

Using my Fitbit tracker for calories is an eye opener! First meal was lunch quinoa feta ham cauli with pesto 450 cals, dinner chorizo risotto with mushrooms green pepper onion carrot 500 cals, I felt so hungry between lunch and dinner so corn cakes for snacks and I succumbed to a couple of biscuits. I can see I need to have more low cal and high protein snacks so oat cakes and carrots and cottage cheese are on tmrw shopping list! So my Melas aren't too bad it's snacks that get me! Sad you don't get a smiley for eating your 5 a day though!!

Needtodosomething25 · 08/07/2024 19:01

Sorry shoulda said so my cals In was 1900, I've been crap and not had daily walk today as weather so yuk. Will try to do some weight but feel knackered this evening! But every little counts I guess!?

Frankgodno · 08/07/2024 19:06

@Needtodosomething25 definitely every little helps! The more you do the less tired you will feel - its backwards 🤪

wefly · 08/07/2024 20:15

Breakfast- Yoghurt melon muesli 450cals

Snack - 4 oat cakes 200 cals

Lunch - 3 tiny scrambled eggs with brocoli and butter beans 400

Gone way over cals today BUT happy with my very healthy choices and went for a swim.
