!!! JULY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE !!!

wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Updating for my accountability

Meal 1 - 750 ✅

Meal 2 - 450 ✅

Steps - 2k ✅

500 cals left and still need to complete 6k steps.

I can do this 💪🏼

@wefly sometimes life gets in the way but thats pretty good from a service station 😃

wefly · 03/07/2024 15:47

@Frankgodno yep it does! Old me would have seen that as a fail and probably written the day off but I've not done that 😌

I’d love to join if it’s not too late! 😅

I started off July quite badly but I’m hoping I can turn it around this month. I’ve been it putting off for too long and I’ve been yo-yoing between 75kg to 81kg.

I was at 174lbs and I’ve gained more weight so I need to get off my backside because I’ve been eating unhealthily.

For accountability:
My starting weight is 179lbs
My goal weight is 149lbs
My dream weight is 112lbs.

I’m hoping to do intermittent fasting as that’s worked for me in the past. I lost the most weight during the pandemic because I had more time to be active and I didn’t snack as much as it felt like I had more time to do meal prepping.

I try to do 8k-10k steps a day but the days I work from home, it’s a challenge to get 6k steps done.

LuckyPlant · 03/07/2024 17:38

Day 3 and feeling positive but learning that I really need to meal plan better, especially lunches. I'm staying within calories but could make better choices (had two eclairs for lunch at 3pm yesterday...). I'll be doing some serious batch cooking at the weekend.

wefly · 03/07/2024 18:01

@VeryConfuzzled of course it's not too late!! Welcome!!

Love the accountability goal setting. You can do this!!?

OP posts:
wefly · 03/07/2024 18:02

@LuckyPlant yeah meal planning is so helpful- especially when busy. I could do better at it as well. I often find i snack during the afternoon and then not hungry for a proper dinner x

OP posts:
wefly · 03/07/2024 18:03

For anyone who hasn't hit their steps yet... there is STILL TIME.

I am out getting mine in now and so happy with myself that I got out the door.

Who else is joining me in the evening walking crew?

OP posts:
LuckyPlant · 03/07/2024 18:50

I'm waiting for my dog to wake up from her post dinner sleep and we'll be out walking soon. Lovely evening for it.

VeryConfuzzled · 03/07/2024 20:05

Thank you for having me! I just need to get started now. I’ve been yo-yoing since last summer from 75kg to 81kg. I just want to get to 60kg so that I can push myself to get to my dream weight. I haven’t been 8 stones since 2014. My weight has been consistently 9 stones and then post-pandemic, the weight just crept up on me.

Hopefully the evening walk helped @wefly. I’m going to jump on the treadmill while I watch YouTube.

wefly · 03/07/2024 20:40

TODAYS FINAL RESULTS

Total cals- 1700
Goal - 1700

Tentatively place marking as I'd like to join.

Started intermittent fasting 9 days ago and have been consistently managing 16 hours fasting. Need to up my activity level though and make much better food choices during my 8 hour eating window. I mistakenly thought I'd see results with fasting alone and eating whatever I want in those 8 hours 😂 how naive I was!

Starting weight: 69kg
Haven't weighed myself since I started and likely won't for a while yet because I don't want to be put off by not seeing results on the scales.

Holiday in two weeks so I'll fall off the wagon then.

Fariapea · 03/07/2024 22:22

Hey guys! Count me in too please. I've been trying to start a diet for the last 6 months but just doesn't happen. I just get lazy and fall off it's terrible. Frustratingly I used to be really focused yrs ago but for some reason definitely a lot less motivation! For accountability my

start weight 170 pounds
Goal weight 154 by the end of August
Ideal weight 147

I'll be weighing myself every Monday!

Plan is to calorie count and try to keep things relatively low carb.

Good luck everyone!

McMumster · 03/07/2024 22:32

This thread moves fast.
I've been good today. Ate carrots instead of chocolates, and used smaller plates for my meals. Feeling hungry, but I guess it's a good sign.

How often do you all weigh yourself?
I am going to do it once a week.

GreenMarigold · 03/07/2024 22:34

A tricky day for food. I went out for lunch with family but chose a relatively light (although not that healthy) option.

I was intending to have a light dinner too as I wasn’t that hungry but my kids and dh all wanted takeaway so I had a couple of slices of pizza and chips, which I am regretting.

On the positive side I did go to the gym and have a decent workout. Here’s to a better day tomorrow.

LostaraYil · 04/07/2024 07:03

Good morning. I wish I was better at meal planning, but DH usually cooks dinner and lunch is whatever I can put together in 5 min from the fridge. Today it's salad with feta, I'll have eggs when I get home from work because they are the most helpful thing for me to stick to any kind of diet, and dinner will be some kind of meat and veg.
I had a tiny glass of wine yesterday and slept even worse than usual, so feel tired this morning. Another reason to avoid alcohol! I feel a bit better after a walk and a coffee, just need to keep up my motivation in order to avoid the inevitable cakes and biscuits at work. Let's do this!

Frankgodno · 04/07/2024 07:54

@wefly oh yes that is so me too, thinking might as well just give up for today if it doesnt go to plan 😅

That is exactly whats happening today but I am trying to push against it. My kids have been up and screaming at me since 5.20am, they have been being awful and it has honestly made me miserable for the day ahead. My go-to in this situation is to emotional/stress eat and give up!! Also dont have a proper food plan for today as our food shop comes tomorrow, so this is dangerous territory. DH is in charge of dinner later and I will need to find a lunch on my work break. Have had my normal smoothie for breakfast so at least that’s good.
Still feeling poorly but getting there. My workout plan says a rest day today but I did a 20 min yoga stretch (sounds lovely but I did it amongst the chaos!)

Welcome to those joining 😃
The evening walks sound lovely. I dont have a way to track my steps anymore, used to have a fitbit but it made me obsessive. I am thinking I might walk this evening instead of drive when I go to vote.

@McMumster I am going to weigh once a week as well. Monday will be my check in day! I have taken body measurements too in case the scale doesnt play ball 😅

Have a good Thursday everyone ✨

wefly · 04/07/2024 14:01

HEY LOSERS 💫

Well done @wefly you have done amazing! And inspired me to be better tomorrow.

today was semi-successful. But one of those days where everything went wrong and meh I did have some chocolate. Tomorrow is a new day!!

hope everyone is doing ok!!

braveandwellbehaved · 05/07/2024 01:18

Hi everyone!
just catching up a bit as I’ve been away with my daughters at camp! It’s been great actually, their school organised it and it was lovely - so nice to get to know my DDs teachers informally
and lots of parents. We are now on our way to see family in Scotland.

well done everyone and welcome
Newcomers! The energy is amazing here so positive!

I was 9st 10 this morning- pretty good as I just got my period. I’ve broken the plan a bit and had quite a bit of pasta today and some McDonald’s fries during our big drive but I’m feeling ok about it. I’ve learnt over the last month that the only way for me(everyone is different I know that) to actually succeed and get to my target is to embrace long term sustainable eating habits that don’t use shame and self recrimination and complete restriction. That’s the kind of approach that left me with a raging eating disorder. I’m very protective of my mental health this time and honour my hunger when it comes. Tomorrow is a fresh new day!

Eumie · 05/07/2024 07:14

Morning all!

Im still full of cold, my cough is worse so I’m worried it’s another chest infection, it’ll be my 3rd since jan! The joys of being a toddler parent and catching every disease known to man.

I’ve being doing well this week, although we did have takeaway fish and chips yesterday for dinner. Although I did make better choices, I had one fish cake instead of two, and we shared a standard chips instead of a large, then had a side of peas.

I took my measurements yesterday and I’ve lost 8cm from my waist since this time last year! I treated myself to some new clothes, and I was finding that in some things I needed to size down!

LostaraYil · 05/07/2024 07:19

Morning. Lovely to see how well everyone is doing and the positivity. I agree, @braveandwellbehaved that it's important to aim for long term and not blame yourself. I have a challenge this weekend, we're having dinner with friends this evening and are out for DH's birthday on Saturday so there will be some dessert and cake, the aim is to not fall off the wagon completely and to be back on it on Sunday.
I woke up with a blinding headache this morning, but it's almost gone after some water, a coffee and a walk. The plan is to keep it very low carb today until dinner so probably cheese and olives for lunch, eggs as a snack and I don't know what's for dinner but I made a cheesecake for dessert snd will have a little bit. Have a good day everyone!

wefly · 05/07/2024 08:27

Morning everyone ⛅️

I'm feeling really motivated to have another great day today. I even quite good in my body today feel less bloated and clothes feel more comfy as a result. Yeaahhhyyy!

Started my day with some healthy protein pancakes and soon to head out on my first walk of the day.

Let's make it count today people! 💥 💥
