!!! JULY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE !!!

wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Today is coming well so far for me. Hope it is for you too x

Great to hear that @wefly Smile

Well done to everyone who has got off to a flying start!

I'm also having a good day - I've got my meals planned and I signed up to Caroline's Circuits and completed my first session. Haven't managed many steps yet but plan to get out after work.

I do find Mondays easy though, it's sticking to it past Thursday that I struggle with!

Potterton · 01/07/2024 16:36

I'll probably feed the jam to the dc in sandwiches Grin

Apart from anything else it would be quite embarrassing if I had a visitor to my bedroom Wink and they saw 15 jam jars lined up. In fact I expect they'd run for the hills! So that's a good motivator.

wefly · 01/07/2024 16:41

@KillersQueen yea Mondays do always feel easier you're right.

We can keep each other going as the week progresses xx

Brilliant! Well done 👏

My kitchen is closed too, met all my targets except steps, but pretty pleased with myself 😊

Hello! I am joining too.
I can never keep on doing calorie counting. I always give up so I decided to differently and see what happens. I decided to run 5k every second day and only eat twice a day. No snacking which is easy because I don't really like sweet things anymore. I don't count calories of my lunch or dinner but I eat home made food. I started in the beginning of June and lost 2kg in one month. Not much but this way it isn't a chore and I can keep it up. I run because need to get fitter for our hiking trip in August.

Inspirationfailure · 01/07/2024 20:59

Please can I join too? I’ve got into a bit of an emotional eating rut in recent years and really need to get out of it.
I’m going to try and stick to intermittent fasting, a mixture of OMAD and 16:8. I find once I start eating I keep going, so fasting is actually easier.
Today I had two small bowls of chickpeas pasta and a skinny chai latte. Will aim for another dinner only day tomorrow.
Love the jam jar idea. But I hate food waste so not sure what I’d do with all that jam. Food bank maybe - also a motivator to lose the weight before it reaches best before dates!!

wefly · 02/07/2024 04:51

@haypole welcome!! The hiking trip sounds amazing. That's a great focus.

Happy to have you with us x

@Inspirationfailure welcome 🎉 I feel you in the emotional eating stuff. I've also had to work on this.

Hopefully this thread can be a supportive place to turn to if we are feeling like we need to use food in that way.

Good luck ' let's do this!!

GOOD MORNING "LOSERS" ( 😂 )

Are we all feeling ready for another day of losing weight and gaining health?

My plan is:

🌟 8 k steps
🌟 1700 cals
🌟 Unprocessed food as much as possible

Let's do this people 🏃‍♀️

Morning! I definitely need this thread! I was doing pretty good with a slow and steady approach, but after a holiday last week I need to really get back on it.

I’ve lost 2.5kg since April, and stalled for most of June due to holidays and my DS was really unwell. I’ve still got 7.5kg to get to a healthy bmi.

I do intense yoga twice a week, and aim for 15mins exercise a day (tracked via my Apple Watch). My target is 1500 calories with butches, which is tricky at the moment as my food scales broke, new ones should be here today I hope!

Yesterday I did well until the evening, when I decided to finish the 1/2 bottle of wine in the fridge as I wanted to clear it out!

GreenMarigold · 02/07/2024 06:45

Hi all, late to the party but would love to join! I have been trying to lose weight for some years but always maintain, and now recently have put on another half a stone 😭

Would love to get down from 10st to 9st but realistically in a month just a 4lb loss would be good. That will take me to my low end of normal.

I’m going to cut right down on snacks and try to reduce carbs where I can. I’ve recently joined a gym so will be trying to go 3 x a week and do 10k steps on the days I don’t work out. Here goes!!

Castlerigg · 02/07/2024 06:58

Morning, me too please.

Starting weight: 153lb
Today's weight: 147lb
Goal weight: 133lb.

I've been attempting to fast, but morning latte is too tempting, so I'm doing low-ish carb and sticking to 1200 calories a day, or less if possible. Trying to avoid sugar and ultra-processed foods, which rules out most tasty snacks, so that's an added bonus. And ditching the evening wine!

I don't usually eat breakfast, but I will have a latte, and today's lunch is chicken breast and salad.

Have a good day losers! 😀

Castlerigg · 02/07/2024 07:03

Oh, and my job is really sedentary, so I'm aiming for 6k steps a day - more than I usually do, but seems like it ought to be attainable. I bought a treadmill and was doing well until I had surgery, and became rather too fond of the "resting" afterwards. Back on that today.

LostaraYil · 02/07/2024 07:06

Morning! Yesterday was a good day, I was busy so managed to avoid snacking. The plan today is to stay lowish carb and get another walk in this afternoon, I have already been out with the dogs in the morning and done a mini workout.

HAF1119 · 02/07/2024 07:08

I'm in! I've been not as strict lately but start weight 20st 1lb and final goal weight 14st (for now so it feels remotely achievable)

I am currently 17st 12lb and having a little place to update on progress will help with some more motivation! I'm mostly just calorie counting for now (plus a couple of cardio sessions a week but that depends on how work/child are doing as am single parent and time is limited!)

:)

wefly · 02/07/2024 07:51

Good morning and welcome to all the lovely new people here!!

Sounds like we are all on a real mission.

Let's have a 💯 day today!

Frankgodno · 02/07/2024 07:56

Morning all 😃

I have come down poorly overnight 😭 so minimal sleep and feeling rotten today. I managed to do 60% of my workout today but it was really hard and then the kids started nagging me for things so I quit. I am going to try to rest this morning and attempt to finish the workout later on. 🙏🏻

Food Plan:
Breakfast: Smoothie
Lunch: Chicken Curry (reheated from yesterday, will skip the rice)
Dinner: Chicken & Salad

lots of water and rest!!

keep going everyone 🙂

wefly · 02/07/2024 09:07

@Frankgodno oh no your poor thing.

Well done for even trying to work out when you're poorly. Food plan looks brilliant.

Hope you feel better quickly.

May I join too please?
A day late, but that tells you everything about my approach to diets 🤣
I have residual baby weight to shift, my second is 11 months old and the last 10kg need to go. While I am on mat leave, I am cooking for the family which means meal planning week ahead. My weakness is snacking while I am having coffee, and I drink a lot of coffee 😬.
Now I am trying to replace chocolate things with salad things, and limit my portion of food during mealtimes (I have to use a small plate so it doesn't look too depressing). Hoping to find here strength and distraction in my moments of weakness when snacks are staring me in the face.
