wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Morning all! Loving the positivity here 💪

I ended up eating too many calories yesterday and have a weekend of entertaining/ cooking ahead of me, so fasting til lunchtime today. Did my 4th workout of the week, first time in years I've done a HIIT workout and it was great! Like you, @wefly, my clothes feel loser today and I am so pleased with myself!

Have great days and weekends everyone. I probably won't post over the weekend but will try to stay within cals and get those steps in 💪

Frankgodno · 05/07/2024 12:01

Afternoon everyone! Well done so far!!
@Eumie 8cm off is amazing 🤩🤩🤩 body measurements are such a good way to see if it pay off! And non- scale victory!!

I think I am going to add in calorie counting to my P.O.A. Those of you who do it - how have you calculated it? I remember something from before about daily maintenance cals -500 ?

hope youre all have good healthy days!!

wefly · 05/07/2024 13:19

HELP NEEDED GUYS!

I am almost at my calorie limit and we've just decided to go out for dinner tonight. I've only got 500cals left....

Worrying...

Any advice as to what I could do?

Additional exercise not possible time wise.

(Can't seem to find a menu online. Really going to need some will power tonight.)

MiaN · 05/07/2024 16:01

veggies & lean protein and small portion of rice should make filling meal under 500cal

MiaN · 05/07/2024 16:48

Joining in, started 1st of July. Aiming for 10k steps a day, 2 lower 2 upper body workouts a week (short) and 1700 calories average.

I also try to hit at least 120g of protein.

Frankgodno · 05/07/2024 20:06

Enjoy your night @wefly , let us know what you went for!!

Welcome @MiaN

A good day for me 💪🏻
full body workout and started logging food on myfitnesspal and calorie counting!

Karatema · 05/07/2024 20:49

I have a holiday in 2 months too but I've eaten chocolate and drunk 2 glasses of wine tonight! This is NOT taking weightloss seriously! 😢

LuckyPlant · 05/07/2024 21:10

Hope you've had a good dinner out wefly. I skipped lunch (partly deliberately but also didn't stop until 4pm) but that meant some extra calories to spend on pizza and wine. Went for the basic Aldi pizza base and added prosciutto, artichokes and olives with extra mozzarella. Nicer than the last takeaway pizza I'd had.

wefly · 05/07/2024 21:14

Just got back from dinner. A really lovely evening.

I went for scampi chips and peas. Not the ideal option however I left quite a bit on my plate and wasn't over-full at all. No dessert and only water to drink.

I think I'm probably not far off my cal goal. Maybe over by 100 at most so I'll take that.

There were some salads but really didn't fancy one.

We've got to live a little too, right?!

Well done every one for your wins today 💥💥

@Karatema dont beat yourself up. You can still achieve a lot in 2 months and feel better for your holiday. Draw a line under last night and start fresh today! Dont worry about it 😊

@LuckyPlant the pizza sounds delicious! I have been craving pizza recently…. 😋

@wefly sounds like a lovely evening! Definitely have to live a little, you were very restrained not to have dessert!! My weakness in a restaurant!

Happy Saturday all!!

P.O.A for me today:
Cardio workout this morning
Breakfast: Smoothie
Lunch: not sure yet
Dinner: Lamb Meatball Wraps

aiming for 1500 cals

and slacking on my water last couple of days so need to drink drink drink and rehydrate!

Potterton · 06/07/2024 09:12

Hi All, it's my weigh-in day today and by some miracle I've lost a pound. The week's been all over the place with staying up late for the election, meals out etc. My main measurement I'm concerned about (hips) hasn't changed though.

Despite eating slightly randomly I've tracked it on my fitbit so there's some accountability. I reckon doing that prevents about 100-300 cals of snacking per day.

I haven't yet bought all 15 jars of jam Grin (only bought 5 to avoid checkout embarrassment) but now I only need 14!

Good luck everyone.

I do definitely think the non scale victories help with motivation, it can be so disheartening seeing the scale stay the same!

I personally use the NutraCheck app, it asks questions about your activity and then gives you a target to aim for. I really like it as it updates with my activity, so if I do lots of exercise it ups my target. Although I do try to avoid eating back the calories if I can. It’s a really nice app although it does need a subscription, but its database of food is great. It’s got a lot of restaurant food too which really helps when picking what to have if I’m out.

Or if you just want an idea of a target then I find this calculator pretty good:

This free BMR calculator estimates basal metabolic rate based on well-known formulas. Also, learn more about variables that affect BMR.

Morning everyone,

Sooo... I'm off out for a Thai tonight. I'd like to be able indulge so I'm going to save up a wedge of calories. So far I'm on 500. Will have a small 250-300 cal lunch shortly so that I've got around 1000 for tonight.

Also will get out on a walk later. X

Hi all, another vote for Nutracheck for counting calories, protein, carbs and exercise - lovely app to use and well worth the subscription (think I got a half price deal for the year) 👍

Frankgodno · 06/07/2024 16:26

Thanks @Eumie & @KillersQueen I will check Nutracheck out!!

we ended up out for lunch at a cafe and I’m very proud of myself for sticking to my plan, as there was so many amazing look homemade cakes 🤤 it was tricky! But i opted for and egg salad!

ILoveNigelTufnel · 06/07/2024 18:14

Hi, I started calorie counting on 1st July but it’s dawned on me today I really need to up the exercise and do this properly.

I’ve stopped taking care of myself as it’s been an awful year so far with family bereavements, work has been truly awful and now I feel really awful, lethargic and frumpy and just so stressed. And I’m peri-menopausal so the fat on my stomach is really not adding anything to my generally feeling awful.

So I have got 2 weeks of term left and then it’s the summer holidays. I plan to do some exercise at least 4 times a week and mainly just eat less and move more. In the holidays I will be able to exercise pretty much every day. Need to up my steps walked as well.

Haven’t got scales (but I am probably around 15 stone) so I’m going to measure inches.

Not cutting anything out of my diet, just making more sensible choices (but seriously considering slim fast just because of the ease of it) and hopefully will end the school year not looking quite as horrendous and with my clothes fitting a bit better. Can’t carry on like this.

moosey89 · 06/07/2024 18:25

Hey can I jump on?

I need to lose a minimum of 4kg for my fertility clinic appointment that hopefully will be late in August. I'd like to lose 12kg total eventually as this would take me back to my lowest adult weight.

Exercise isn't my issue, I love going to the gym and walk a lot. For me it's food and binge eating. My calorie target is 2050, I lost at a rate of 1-1.5lbs a week on this before doing a couple of gym sessions a week and around 10k steps a day (I've got a lot of muscle mass which apparently helps burn more calories at rest, and I'm tall).

Just need some accountability to help me stick to it!x

Frankgodno · 06/07/2024 19:40

Welcome both @ILoveNigelTufnel & @moosey89 🥰
we will cheer you on! You can do this 😃 good plans all round

my daily summary:
cardio workout done ✅
breakfast smoothie - 366 calories
egg salad - 528 calories
lamb meatball wraps - 496 calories
after dinner: pot of sugar free jelly & 1 scoop strawberry ice cream 100 calories

total for today: 1490

hope everyone is enjoying their weekend ✨

LuckyPlant · 06/07/2024 20:12

That's quite an incentive moosey89! Best wishes for your appointment Flowers

I didn't have the best day with calories but had a long walk, did my physio exercises, gardened, batch cooked and meal planned so the rest of the self-care was good. Need to remember not to shop on an empty stomach...

wefly · 06/07/2024 21:36

Well done everyone for today.

An okay-ish day today but I think I went out of my deficit. A maintenance day. No damage done.

Back on it fully tomorrow 👊🏼 👊🏼

Hope I'm not to late to him the party. I'm 5'4 and 10 stone 7ibs. I'm not overweight but carry weight really badly (just stomach and face) it doesn't suit me. I'm aiming to get back to my post baby weight of 9st 🤩

wefly · 06/07/2024 21:46

@Moomoo20 not too late at all. This is a really motivational thread. I'm finding it so helpful. Great to have you here x

Hi to all the new joiners! Well done if you've stayed on plan at the weekend. Today was a bit of a disaster for me, we were out and dinner was lots of small things, I stuck to mostly salads and meats but then had cake and also crisps earlier because dinner was late. We also now have brownies, cupcakes and cheesecake at home, which is going to be a problem for me, but hopefully the 3 young adults in the house will get through them quickly before I do...
