wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Morning. A fresh week is just what I need, the weekend wasn't too bad although it involved too much booze. I need to stay off the alcohol now until my holiday in a week and a half. Also going to do more weights to tone up as much as i can, and stick to high protein, low carb. We will rock those bikinis, wefly!

KillersQueen · 15/07/2024 08:28

Hello, I've been a bit absent over the last few days and I'm missing the accountability! Well done everyone who is keeping on track, or getting back on it ☺️.
I'm away from home today and next weekend, so need to make Tuesday-Friday my workout days. Will focus on calories and steps today.
Have great days and weeks, everyone!

YouG0GlenCoco · 15/07/2024 11:38

@wefly yes fresh start, you've got this 🙌

I'm happy with how I did last week, one of the days went slightly over my 1400 kcal but every other day I was under.

I need to introduce some more exercise, I walk the dog every day for between 45-60 mins and do zumba once a week (although I haven't been for two weeks 😬) I'd really like to introduce some weight training but something I can do at home! Anybody got on suggestions?

Also I used to add sugar to my porridge or have sugary cereal, this morning I made it with half a mashed banana in while cooking and it was so nice! Need to think of some other ways to flavour it without adding refined sugar.

I've been doing Caroline's Circuits (there are sample exercises on her instagram, and there's 20% off first month if you sign up). She's excellent! Discourages you from going heavy too soon, I just use 3kg dumbbells and a 5kg kettlebell, so you don't need much equipment to start. No class is longer than 35 mins including warm up and cool down, which really works for me.

I’ve been a bit a bit indulgent the last few days, my OH was away so I was stressed doing everything myself. Especially as my toddler is being a handful at the moment.

Last night I had takeaway, beers and some cakes that I baked. All delicious, but put me way over my target!!!

I need to be on plan the rest of the week as I have an event on Saturday and I don’t want to look bloated for it!!

wefly · 17/07/2024 13:38

Hello everybody,

I have been a little quiet on here. Apologies! All pretty good for a health perspective. I have actually relaxed on the calorie control for a bit as I felt I want to really just focus on my choices.

Also been moving my body and I feel pretty good when I look in the mirror which is nice. I think I'm looking toned and healthy.

Hi, how's everyone getting on? I hit a bit of a down couple of days- weight seemed to stall already, felt convinced I would look terrible in my wedding guest frock, and was craving sweets.
And then guess who came to visit early 🤦‍♀️. I love an explanation. Otherwise sticking to 5:2 and bigger meals/no or fewer snacks on the other days.

braveandwellbehaved · 20/07/2024 06:35

Hi all! Just catching up again - I've been away on holiday and it's been wonderful. A lot of eating and drinking though so I was dreading the scale! I left at 9 st 9 but came back around 9 st 11 which isn't bad at all.
Now back on it, I've got a nice healthy shopping list and heading to the shop this morning to get everything I need to start the weekend off properly.

NSVs on holiday - I haven't felt so good about myself for years. Losing the last stone I lost this summer has been genuinely life changing. So many small things I've noticed - my husband has been very complimentary. He usually is very sweet about my looks etc. and very affectionate but he's been almost bowled over by me in outfits that I've had for years but just fit me so much better. I've lost substantially in my face and instead of making me look older (which I feared) I looked a lot younger. Funnily enough, I'm not at target and I'm still a lot bigger than I was when I thought I was fat as a younger woman and teenager. But I still ran around at the beach and just lived my life. I just felt so much better than I used too and it's really changed my life. Would be great to keep going a little and fit into the last few items I used to wear around 9st 6/5 - I know I can do it! I also want to keep getting strong and toning up.

These weeks I'm going to aim for:
Daily weigh ins
General calorie deficit each day (I don't tend to count, as this has just made me obsessed, and didn't really help at all)
twice weekly gym sessions and walking every day.

MiaN · 20/07/2024 07:10

I am doing well, hard to believe 3 weeks off the month are already nearly gone. I said no to few meals out, we were away for 3 weeks in June and will have visitors from abroad in August with a lot of eating out. There is always something, it's good to say no every so often.

moosey89 · 20/07/2024 09:22

I've had a really good week this week - number on the scale hasn't really moved but I've done all my workouts, all my daily steps, eaten nutritious food and had a bit of what I like without a single urge to binge. I'm taking that as a huge win!

ILoveNigelTufnel · 21/07/2024 13:17

You’re all doing so well! ⭐️ It’s really helping to read about people who are using successes and even when people have had a bit of a splurge, no one is giving up.

Last week I just went with the flow. I was so tired and had migraines Monday and Tuesday so I ate what I felt I needed to get through the last week of term.

It’s now the summer holidays and I’m on it.

Still not snacking. That’s going pretty well so far and I’m drinking more water.

Not over doing it so I get injured and then can’t do anything (which is what I usually do - go in all guns blazing then pull muscles and then it’s all gone wrong and I give up) but I am walking at least 1 mile a day. Need to do something else though so…

Any suggestions for some online dance videos or something fun? Or yoga (although I am very inflexible so it would have to be absolutely beginners guide for the very unfit)?

Thanks!

braveandwellbehaved · 22/07/2024 07:47

So last two days I’ve been at 9 st 11 (2 st gain from my lowest a couple weeks ago) wonder if my holiday is catching up slightly later than the day after! Either way I’m just staying with my deficit and focus on healthy foods. One cheeky thing I’m doing is wine in the evenings argh. probably isn’t helping!

as I say though staying with the diet is sooooo paramount through the gains and plateaus. Might kick up it a notch this week as my girls are going to stay with their grandparents for a couple days whilst I get some work done.

I’ve treated myself to some really nice coffee from M & S for work which I’ll have black. Anyone else got ideas on non food treats that make day to day lovely?

one big thing is dressing up! I’m going to get showered and dress nicely today despite the gain as that is also key, showering myself through this whole journey not just when there’s a loss. That’s a recipe for misery and disordered eating.

braveandwellbehaved · 23/07/2024 10:44

Hi everyone! Struggling with a bit of motivation paralysis - kind of the opposite of being 'on track' and just finding it hard not to snack etc. Oh well, doing my best I guess. 9 st 10 this morning, Goal would be 9 st 9 by end of this week and goal for end of July would be getting down to 9 st 8 as it's my lowest in absolute YEARS.
Ultimate goal at the moment is 9 st 6 but really toning up and getting stronger would be the best option. So more focus on eating protein and remembering the gym might become the focus. I want to heal my pelvic floor. both my DDs were over 9 lbs so I still pee when I run argh- anyone else struggle with this? I haven't been consistent with my exercises so that would be the first port of call but struggle so much to remember them. so dumb as it's like 5 minutes x 3 times a day.tips and experiences appreciated!

KillersQueen · 23/07/2024 14:47

Hi everyone, I've been absent here and also totally off the rails diet wise.... now unwell with a horrible throat infection. Trying to rest and trying to get back on track food wise, but totally craving carbs 😵‍💫.

Hope you are all faring better! Well done those of you who have dropped lbs and inches 🙌

moosey89 · 23/07/2024 15:07

I am epically failing and it's really affecting my mental health because so much rides on me losing weight. I had a good week last week, yet still my weight was higher this week. I don't have the energy to keep doing this, it's draining me.

KillersQueen · 23/07/2024 17:08

Hi @moosey89 , sorry you're feeling so down about it. Could it be that you're building muscle and that's what's showing on the scales?

The other thing that massively has an impact on my weight and how I feel is how much water I am drinking. I've made myself drink 2.5l throughout the day today and I feel so much better for it. Is that worth a try?

Let's keep posting here to keep ourselves accountable too - I've been rubbish at that of late but will get back on it Smile

wefly · 24/07/2024 13:21

Hey guys..

Joining the lack of motivation club over here. It's not been awful but just a lot of snacking/ convenience foods.

I think I'm going to do a mammoth movement session tonight - gym & swim - that usually resets me.

It's just so hard with little ones isn't it. I've got a baby and a toddler and so tough finding the energy and motivation.

I know @wefly ! Been a bad ten days when I was ill, kid was ill, other kid busy with end of school stuff. I haven't eaten terribly well or done as much walking. I have other life stuff going on and realise I am quite stressed and not sleeping well either. Thankfully the scales show no gain so hopefully good hydration is helping?! On holiday for few days Friday to Tuesday but will be very active as camping so should even out a few cheeky beers/fish n chips/BBQs!! Need to remember my water bottle for camping!!

KillersQueen · 24/07/2024 18:20

Hi all, feeling a bit better today, managed a short strength session. Not bad calories wise either, so feeling like I'm getting back on track!

wefly · 24/07/2024 18:41

@KillersQueen well done. Mine day has been pretty okay too. I'm now in the gym doing some weights although taking it easy today as so tired from 2 poorly babies.

I hit a bit of a recent lull too- can't do much exercise due to an injury and have been craving ice lollies (I don't stop at one). But I managed to hit my July target today, 9lb down, so I'm happy with that. Dress I'm wearing to a wedding tomorrow is still a little snug but i can ditch the serious shape wear for something more breathable!
