Hi guys,

Sorry for being MIA life happens. With a few work trips and Xmas and birthdays etc, I haven't been very consistent. And have been taking 7mg every few days and it's seems to be doing the trick. I'm not losing a huge amount of weight but like 4 pounds a week and for me that's very good.

Anyway so I've been ordering of right angled, last few months. And today I got a text message from the GP saying that I need to get in touch because they got a request of some sort from right angled. I am terrified! Sorry if this sounds silly, I'm a very anxious person and hate GP/dentist in general.

I really don't want a telling off from the GP and what do I even say? Is it illegal? Can I just ignore the message? Also what would they have requested from the GP ? I'm so so anxious about it all. Please help

Londonlady365 · 17/01/2024 21:34

Your GP can't stop you taking anything. People take all sorts of prescription and non prescription stuff and GPs still treat them for any related or non related consequences. My concern would be if you didn't meet the prescribing criteria would your GP inform rightangled? But then you just buy it from somewhere else.

Funnyhat · 17/01/2024 21:45

I mean I didn't lie about anything, I was medically the obese, and that's why I was able to get it prescribed, but my GP wouldn't know anything about that.

It's just having to explain it to the GP, I'm embarrassed and worried about being told off and lectured about healthy lifestyle/ side effects all to be put me off taking it.

BangingOn · 18/01/2024 14:33

@Funnyhat I would feel the same as you about this, I hope your GP is understanding and supportive.

Thinking ahead to a maintained dose, does any know what Rightangled etc’s view are in this? Do they keep prescribing a lower dose or a lower frequency to enable people to maintain?

Londonlady365 · 18/01/2024 14:51

@BangingOn I am having this issue now. Because of taking a lower dose and stockpiling during shortages I hadn't ordered since July. I did get questioned but when they looked at all my previous orders, they were happy that I had been taking a lower dose. I am not sure how I can maintain a regular supply at 2 tablets aweek. The other issue is not meeting the health criteria when we need maintainance.

Funnyhat · 18/01/2024 18:11

So rightangled emailed me saying that they contact everyones GP's to inform and confirm the prescription. I did ask if they could refrain from informing the GP and they said no.

Where is everyone else ordering from? Or is everyone's GP aware of their prescription?

I know Numan don't inform the GP but I emailed them and they said they only had 3mg in stock.

If anyone has any reliable places they are buying from that don't inform the GP, I would be so grateful if you could share.

Dinosaurpoo · 19/01/2024 19:06

That’s interesting about the gp thing. I’ve also been buying from rightangeld.
Struggled to get back into the grove after a break over Christmas. I’ve been to scared to hop on the scales and assess the damage. Braved it this morning and the battery was flat! Ignorance is bliss, right?
I’m experimenting with taking 1.5 7mg tablets. 14mg knocked me for six and gave me headaches. But I feel like I’ve been eating loads on the 7mg, especially by the end of the day, so hoping this gives me a boost. So far so good on day 1!

hope everyone else is getting on ok?

RedRum27 · 20/01/2024 14:42

It takes a while to get out of the Christmas/ New Year groove and back into it I think. I’ve been really frustrated. Have been yo-yo’ing between losing 2lbs, putting on 2lbs the past two week. So effectively lost 0. The 7mg has done nothing for me 12 days in. I have snacked more than I this week than I have done since I started Ryb, including over Christmas where I couldn’t even finish my Christmas dinner. Have only just returned to exercise this week so don’t know if I really need to up my game again with it get back into my routine and hope that makes a difference. Feel a bit hopeless and as though nothing will work for me even though I know I sound ridiculous. Since November I am 10lbs down but feel so bloated and my tummy huge again.

JaffacakeJanine · 20/01/2024 17:05

@RedRum27 I'll bet the bloating is water weight, I think getting back into a routine will settle everything! Remember to try and eat filling, high protein stuff to diminish the want for snacking. I've started continuing to eat when I feel the full feeling for a little bit, to ensure I don't get the snacky feeling later.

The 7mg also takes a little time to build up, so be patient! I had a similar blip over Christmas but things are settling and a bit easier now with more predictable routines in place :)

JaffacakeJanine · 20/01/2024 17:08

@Dinosaurpoo I split the tablets for the jump between 7-14mg and it worked really well for me until I was ready to move up properly!

Dinosaurpoo · 20/01/2024 20:20

Good to know @JaffacakeJanine - it feels like im
eating less already.

Londonlady365 · 23/01/2024 16:48

So I did 5 days on 7mg, left the last two in a hotel room so went to 14mg. Now on day 6 of 14mg. The carb bloat went after a few days on 7mg and I felt SO much better. I have lost 2lbs (bloat?)and appetite starting to reduce. Painful hunger gone but not fuller sooner yet. So this is about where I want to be to maintainance. I don't think I am reacting as strongly as the first time even with a 2 month break.

Cjgdjkf · 23/01/2024 20:24

I have had a 2 week break and just started back on 7mg. I have put on 8lbs 🤦🏻‍♀️ Day 3 of 7mg and I’m still eating everything in the house however I haven’t got on top of my exercise and that usually helps so must get back to it. It will be interesting if the 7mg continues to work for me since I’ve had a break, I’ve been on 7mg since April I think. Are you carrying on everyday taking 14mg @Londonlady365 or are you going to maintain now?

Londonlady365 · 23/01/2024 21:13

@Cjgdjkf I am planning on 30 days of 14mg to get back to full effect then reduce to twice a week and see if that's enough to maintain.

Cjgdjkf · 23/01/2024 21:34

@Londonlady365 ah yes you did say in a previous post, sorry!

RedRum27 · 25/01/2024 16:22

@JaffacakeJanine thanks for the motivation 😊 needed it! Eaten out less this week so feel less stodgy, gym 3 times this week, tried to be good with my water again and feeling a little fuller when eating meals again so hopefully it’s a case of just needed to settle back down post-Christmas. Shock horror, the 2lbs I was yo-yo’ing between has gone again so working hard to keep losing. Just under two weeks left on 7mg. Tempted to do another month on it with a good routine in place and then go to 14. Very little side effects at all other than fatigue at the start and slightly harder stools than normal but nothing crazy so praying the 14mg is ok for me.

@Londonlady365 how are you finding the 14mg?

Londonlady365 · 25/01/2024 16:30

@RedRum27 I'm lucky and I don't get any side effects just a reduced appetite and off snacks and alcohol. Amazing how much weight I lost not snacking and drinking. 😳

SilkySuky · 25/01/2024 16:33

Hello hello! Sorry I missed the tag for the new thread so have just seen it on active discussions.

Was off completely in November due to funds, and have gone back on 14mg as of just before Christmas.

Personal experience is similar to others in that for a few weeks appetite was still suppressed, then it did start to come back. I put weight on, but am back to pre stopping weight and am continuing to lose now.

Have got some loose skin now, in total am just under 4st down. I'm taking collagen, biotin, and a mountain of vitamins to try and combat this.

Glad to see everyone doing ok.

Dinosaurpoo · 26/01/2024 10:34

I braved the scales last week! Was convinced Christmas would’ve set me back loads. But I only put on 2lbs, and that’s almost gone now!
I’m much less hungry on the combo of 1.5 7mg
tablets. Will stick to this for a bit I think before trying 14 again.
@SilkySuky let me know how you get on with supplements? I feel like my cheeks have sagged massively since losing this first stone. And I’ve got another 2 to go!! Going to need to try something.

SilkySuky · 26/01/2024 11:06

@Dinosaurpoo not sure if the collagen is doing much so far, but can't recommend biotin highly enough to help with the hair loss. It got quite alarming, the amount I was losing every time I washed it. I've been taking it for about 5 months and I've definitely got some re growth.

JaffacakeJanine · 29/01/2024 23:27

@SilkySuky thanks for the tips on biotin, may give it a go because I've definitely noticed a bit more hair than usual coming out after a shower!

Just had a week off all pills in an attempt to have a fun and boozy weekend like old times, but my body firmly DOES NOT ENJOY ALCOHOL any more. A little part of me is mourning the ease and enjoyment of getting a little merry from the before times, not going to lie. I think in my case it is somewhat an acceptance that that era of my life is over now 😭 and retraining my brain a little bit to be able to enjoy partying /tackle anxiety inducing social situations with no booze involved. Definitely not a bad thing health wise and consumption wise, but something I didn't really anticipate when starting on this journey. I honestly feel forever altered in that aspect.

Londonlady365 · 30/01/2024 06:03

@JaffacakeJanine it does seem to take all the fun out of life. When fully on the pills I have a 2 glass wine limit and a few crisps then nausea. Like of like covid !! It takes about 6 weeks to get fully back to normal but that's awful too because of the lack of control. No easy answer to this one.

RedRum27 · 30/01/2024 08:49

@Londonlady365 @JaffacakeJanine i will happily swap with you 😂can still guzzle a few in the weekend (probs why I am yo-yo’ing!).

did an update with my doctor and he said to alternate between 7 and 14mg if I’m worried about side effects even with none so far. Considering is as I have 10 days left on 7mg and I’m so hungry despite a good lunch (chilli and rice).

hope everyone is doing well

Cjgdjkf · 30/01/2024 12:33

So I had the two weeks off 7mg and back on for a week and I’m still starving and putting on weight! Considering. Doing 7 and half but how do people halve the tablets without it all crumbling?! I’m going to try getting back into exercising and see if that helps! Sadly I’ve never been put off alcohol and seem to be able to drink as much as I want!

Londonlady365 · 30/01/2024 15:39

@RedRum27 it doesn't look like you are going to get side effects. Not everyone does. But alternating 7 and 14 will help, I have found the effects noticeable at around 7 days.
