Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

I also find the effects are enhanced by alcohol, so a few drinks the night before will put me off food the next day. Cheaper than upping the dose

monicagellerbing · 30/01/2024 16:33

Can I join. Just been given my first prescription for 3mg. Read lots online about the nausea and vomiting and all the horror stories so I'm really nervous to start

Dinosaurpoo · 30/01/2024 19:21

@SilkySuky I’ve not noticed any hair loss…. Yet! Will be on that biotin if I do. Thanks.

@Cjgdjkf I’ve got a pill cutter. 1.5 tablets of 7mg is working well for me so far.

@monicagellerbing good luck! I don’t think I had many side effects at all at 3mg.

i’ve had some whopping hangovers since starting! I didn’t think I’d ever learn, but I’m definitely drinking less lately, so maybe I’m getting the message at last 😂

scales are moving down slow and steady for me again now. Another 6lbs and I will be under the threshold for obesity. Looking forward to that milestone!

JaffacakeJanine · 30/01/2024 23:02

Ugh yes, the hangovers are worse and after only a few drinks, avoidddd! I definitely don't get the increased effects the next day. I also pretty much vomit every time I drink more than 1-2 drinks now.

@monicagellerbing welcome! My main advice is just take it easy and don't move up to 7mg too early, especially if 3mg is working for you! I'd also recommend upping your protein to start, the nausea for me is often hunger pangs, which is something I never felt before starting Rybelsus.
My partner says he gets nause with hunger naturally (he's not on Rybelsus) - explains why he gets so hungry!

Cjgdjkf · 08/02/2024 07:44

Morning, so after upping exercise im still the same weight - though I can’t stop eating there seems to be no appetite suppression any more sadly. My pill cutter arrived yesterday so have just taken my first 1.5 tablets of 7mg. Fingers crossed I can start getting rid of the 8lbs I’ve gained from my lowest weight on Rybelsus and then continue to lose a bit more. How’s everyone finding getting hold of 7mg now as I’ll have to buy some more if using it quicker? Hope everyone’s journeys are still going well!

RedRum27 · 08/02/2024 11:39

@Cjgdjkf could it be that you’re ready to move up to 14? I started 14mg nearly a week ago but alternated with 7mg until they finish, I have 2 7mg left before it’s full time with the 14mg. No no side effects so far and that’s what I was the most worried about.

Well done on upping your exercise…Sometimes with exercise it takes a while for your body to adjust to it and see the effect. It’s straightforward getting tablets just expensive.

Going good so far I think. Saw the lowest number on the scale in years so hopefully full time on the 14mg which really push it on. By the end of the day 2lbs had gone on! Lesson learned not to weigh too often.

Dinosaurpoo · 09/02/2024 10:10

@Cjgdjkf my weight has fluctuated lots and tends to go up and down. Overall, it’s a slow and steady down. I didn’t really feel my appetite was hugely suppressed until I started taking 1.5 of the 7mg.

@RedRum27 it’s very satisfying to see those lower numbers. I’m about 3lbs off being overweight rather than obese and can’t wait for that milestone!!

im feeling rubbish this week. Lots of nausea and headaches. Hoping it’s peri stuff and not the rybelsus.

Cjgdjkf · 09/02/2024 11:37

Thanks for your replies

@RedRum27 i don’t know, it’s highly likely I’ve been on 7mg since April but it was working really well and then I had two weeks off and it’s cocked it all up! I think for me the exercise at the mo is covering all the extra calories I’m consuming lol. Well done on your scale victories!! Yes I weigh first thing in the morning, thinking I’m going to stop doing it daily for a bit though!

So I’m taking 7.5 and it’s day two. Only difference is I feel quite sick after taking the tablets for a few hours.

Im hopeful @Dinosaurpoo that this happens to me after a few more days on new level fingers crossed.

JaffacakeJanine · 10/02/2024 21:28

@Cjgdjkf I have noticed after taking time off the pills, it takes a little while for the full appetite suppression to kick in again. Must be something to do with the build up in your system. After Xmas break, I swear it took about a month to get back to appetite suppression again!

Must say it's tempting to just add another 3mg to the dose to speed it up a bit, but not sure how great that would be health-wise. I also heard they might be rolling out a higher dosage of Rybelsus at some point too?

Cjgdjkf · 12/02/2024 20:31

@JaffacakeJanine yup still eating everything in sight so it’s defo taken time to get back into my system. I’ve begun to wonder if the tablets are duds!!

yes that was one of the reasons (and sickness) why I didn’t want to go up to 14mg. I wonder how high the next dose will be? Can’t imagine how sick it may make people! I was bad enough when I started 7mg.

Dinosaurpoo · 23/02/2024 11:42

How are you all getting on?

im still steadily loosing - albeit slowly! Im hoping that Elam sit won’t pile back on too easily!

thinking of trying the 14mg again to see if that gives me an extra boost. Last time I tried it made me so sick and tired, so feeling a bit hesitant.

i seem to have sorted the constipation with regular magnesium supplements. A big relief!

Cjgdjkf · 23/02/2024 14:54

Ooh tell me more about these magnesium supplements @Dinosaurpoo Well done on still loosing though.

so I must be about 2 weeks now on one and half 7mg The food chatter in my head is easing (god that’s a relief!!) but weight loss is very slow. I’ve gone from 9st 13 to 9st 8lbs, I’ve increased exercise again too and trying to be more consistent with that! It’s a loss though so will keep plugging away :) I’m like you I don’t think I could go up to 14 as I really can’t be sick like I was at the start of 7mg, tbh I feel very slightly nauseous taking an extra half for the first few hours of the day!

Dinosaurpoo · 23/02/2024 21:38

@Cjgdjkf magnesium citrate. I take magnesium anyway for migraines and sleep. But normally avoid the citrate as it gives me a dodgy tummy. But with the rybelsus, it’s really helping keeping things moving.

that’s a great loss. I think I’m averaging about 1lb a week. I do wish it was faster, but hey ho. It’s still headed in the right direction and I’m not having any negative side effects. A few of my mates have tried the injections. They seem to work fast, but with a lot more sickness etc.

JaffacakeJanine · 23/02/2024 21:47

@Dinosaurpoo thanks for the hot tips on the magnesium! I'm going to pick up some tomorrow because I've been stuffed up for a good few days now :(
1lb a week is great, slow and steady I say!

I've been on 14mg now for a while and I was noticing diminishing effects and even thinking I might need to move to Wegovy - but all of a sudden it's working again full force! I suppose it must just take a little while to build up in your system. I can actually feel the weight loss increasing, and my previously well fitting jeans (ie. They fit well 2 weeks ago?!) have started falling down all of a sudden! I suppose it's a sign for me to keep pressing on, even if plateauing!

The nice thing was, even over Xmas period and then a planned weekend of frivolities without the pills, I didn't gain at all, just stayed stable despite eating what I wanted. That in itself makes it worth the money in my mind.

I'll get back to you all on the weight situation as haven't weighed due to the constipation 😭

RedRum27 · 02/03/2024 04:30

Sorry for the quiet recently, work and life has been very busy! Nearly a month on the 14mg and it’s coming off slowly but staying off which is good as don’t want it too rapid that it all goes back on again. The first week of 14mg I ate loads though so took a while for the appetite suppression to kick in.

I fluctuated between 1 and 2 lbs for a couple of weeks which was annoying but it finally went down, and it’s stayed down the past 4 days. It’s the lowest I’ve been in years. I’m 3lbs off losing 2 stone since starting Ryb so I’ll take the wins wherever I can. I don’t feel like I look any different though 😂

Hope everyone is doing well, pleased to hear things are moving in the right direction @Cjgdjkf @Dinosaurpoo fingers crossed the constipation gets better @JaffacakeJanine

RedRum27 · 02/03/2024 04:39

I can’t count! 3lbs off a stone and a half, not two stone…if only it happened that quickly ha!

JaffacakeJanine · 02/03/2024 08:20

Huge congrats @RedRum27 , that's fantastic progress!

I know what you mean about not feeling you look that different, but all of a sudden it'll hit! Recently somebody took a photo of me and I was like THAT'S MEEE???? And I hardly recognized myself due to the facial weight loss which is barely perceptible in the mirror 🤣

Cjgdjkf · 02/03/2024 08:46

Well done @RedRum27 still on 7mg and a half tablet. Seems to be working albeit slowly. Have bought the magnesium @Dinosaurpoo so hoping that kicks in and things get a little easier! It will be a one year anniversary for me soon starting Rybelsus! I was only going to do it to kick start my loss at the beginning too….. still I’m not complaining I don’t think there would of been another way to lose all this weight if I’m honest as had tried everything. It’s the lack of food chatter that’s helped me, it’s life changing not being obsessed by food!

@Doggymummar all okay with you? @JaffacakeJanine thats amazing, definitely spurs you on to continue!

RedRum27 · 07/03/2024 15:01

Thank you. This thread helps as the checks hold me accountable for working with the tablet.

I hope the 14mg doesn’t wear off anytime soon or at least until I hit my goals on and off the scale.

well done @Cjgdjkf on your progress, slow and steady wins the race. If it comes off too quickly it’s more likely to go back from from all the stuff I have read.

How many months did you spend on each tablet/dosage?

Cjgdjkf · 07/03/2024 15:35

@RedRum27 I was on 3mg for the 4 weeks then 7mg until I recently moved to 7 and a half mg sSo about 10 months roughly on 7mg. How far are you off goal? I definitely think that when I add exercise and eating better into the equation I still lose but at the moment my food is crap (think toast with lots of butter and too much sugar!)

Dinosaurpoo · 07/03/2024 19:08

I’ve moved up to 14 this week and I swear to gos I was less hungry when I was having one and a half 7mg tablets.
hoping it kicks in soon!
I feel like I’ve had a slow month this month. Lots of birthdays and stuff. Only lost about 2 lbs.
hoping the 14 does something soon and I can get back on track a bit.

JaffacakeJanine · 07/03/2024 22:31

@Dinosaurpoo the meds will take a little while to build up so be patient! Mine took about a month to have a full effect.

Last night I woke up at 3am with extreme stomach cramps (imagine really bad period pain, it was in that area) The pain was so bad to the extent I thought I'd have to go to A&E, but I've heard stories about stomach pain being gas related so I sat on the loo for a while. It eventually went away after pooping, but I was sitting there a good half hour!
I was wondering if anybody has had a similar experience on Rybelsus? I'm not sure if it's related or another fun issue with my body ha ha. A quick Google search suggests IBS.

Cjgdjkf · 09/03/2024 21:59

@JaffacakeJanine just seen your post! Are you okay now? I’ll occasionally have a short sharp stab just under my ribs but it’s short and I wonder if that’s gas related (I tend to have so much gas these days!)

Cjgdjkf · 09/03/2024 21:59

@Dinosaurpoo still a loss though 👍🏻👍🏻

RedRum27 · 10/03/2024 02:20

That’s a good time on the 7.5! I moved to the 14mg on month 4. I have different goals I guess, goal 1 was 210lbs, goal 2 is 203, goal 3 is 196 so working on goal 2 now. NSV’s are clothes fitting better, better confidence and being active. I’m trying to make it more about lifestyle change rather than just losing weight but it’s hard some days though.

@JaffacakeJanine I hope you are ok and feel better soon.
