Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

Good luck all, I’m still on Rybelsus but it’s also not working anymore sadly. Can’t do injections though so not sure what I’ll do, think I’m kidding myself that keeping taking the tablets will stop all weight gain!

Doggymummar · 06/09/2024 18:00

Yep it stopped working for me too. Such a shame, but too expensive to just lose a couple of pounds a month

@Doggymummar Thanks for the threads, I moved over a while back and am doing OK on MJ
One thing I would caution you is that, like Rybelsus 3mg, Mounjaro 2.5 is a subclinical dose so may have no effect. When I switched I thought I had some food noise suppression but I think it was the tail end of the Rybelsus effects and it took me a little while to get going again. I think others have said similar
Good luck with your next steps

Doggymummar · 06/09/2024 21:53

Thank you @QueenOfHiraeth they told me that 2:5 mj was the same as 14mg of Rybelsus. Is that not true. ?

OP posts:
QueenOfHiraeth · 06/09/2024 22:08

@Doggymummar I don't know if there is a straight equivalent dose between the two drugs (although I'm no expert) but Mounjaro is generally accepted to be more effective than Rybelsus and you start it on 2.5mg no matter what dose of any other GLP1 you have been on.

Londonlady365 · 07/09/2024 06:05

I started on 5mg from 14mg although in reality I was only taking 14mg every 3 days. I have some Ry left but I plan to use them to maintain if I can't get M every 2 months. @Doggymummar good luck on M. It is better.

Doggymummar · 07/09/2024 09:21

How did you swap, did you leave a gap to withdraw from Ry or just start the next day? @Londonlady365 @QueenOfHiraeth I didn't ask the pharmacy and mine arrives today but I took my tablet already out of habit.

OP posts:
Londonlady365 · 07/09/2024 09:25

@Doggymummar I just started straight away but it was 3 days since my last tablet. But I haven't ever had side effects. Given your strong reaction maybe you should wait a few days.

QueenOfHiraeth · 07/09/2024 10:34

I was told by my provider to leave 4 days between the tablets and first injection to give a bit of washout time

Doggymummar · 07/09/2024 10:59

Thanks ladies

I hope everyone is doing well, sounds like a fair few have moved over to Mounjaro? How is it?

I have been inconsistent with taking the tablets and weighing weekly since beginning of June so my tracking has gaps. I wasted a few weeks and could/should have lost more. Plus side is that my weight is relatively stable when I am off the tablets so hoping that the genuine changes I’ve made lifestyle wise will work in my favour when I come off the tablets.

Weight is still a downward trend though just slow. I wonder if the 14mg is now longer working as much as it did.

Doggymummar · 26/09/2024 07:28

Hi @RedRum27 I think I was the last one to move to MJ they Ry stopped working for me and I've only lost a stone this year. Only on week 2 of Mounjaro and the 2.5 mg dose doesn't seem to be doing much. Hopefully as the doses increases I will see some losses. Stayed the same weight so far.

BangingOn · 26/09/2024 12:21

I am on 15mg Mounjaro now but will start to move down a dose from next month towards a maintenance. I’m really happy with it, now 7 stone down in total and have started buying a size 10 in some clothes which I never thought would be possible.

Londonlady365 · 26/09/2024 13:07

@BangingOn that's amazing. We'll done

BangingOn · 26/09/2024 13:22

Thank you! I can’t take any credit though, I’ve just paid the money and taken the drugs.

Doggymummar · 26/09/2024 13:34

It still takes massive will power you could have eaten McDonald's all day everyday like my friend who had her stomach stapled

OP posts:
BangingOn · 27/09/2024 07:32

I’ve heard that a few times about people who have had gastric surgery. I’ve found that Rybelsus/Mounjaro has really changed my tastebuds and appetite and I’m just not bothered by food anymore.

I am under no illusion that it’s the drug that’s doing that and it’s not that I’ve changed. If I came off it I know my appetite would go straight back to where it was.

Doggymummar · 27/09/2024 07:44

It definitely does come back, I gained 10lb earlier this year when I couldn't afford it and it was so hungry. My stomach was so loud others could hear it !

OP posts:
BangingOn · 27/09/2024 18:30

Did you feel hungrier than before? Or was it more that you’d forgotten what hunger is like so it felt more intense?

Doggymummar · 27/09/2024 18:33

Massively hungrier than before, almost painful to be honest it was dreadful

OP posts:
BangingOn · 27/09/2024 20:30

That really worries me about every coming off it!

Londonlady365 · 28/09/2024 08:26

Yeah me too. I am going to stay on MJ for as long as possible. Then I have a few months of Ry for every 2 or 3 days to take the edge off hunger. Then I will have to see if I can do it alone.

Doggymummar · 28/09/2024 09:22

It was really bad, I thought I would be able to manage it with mind over matter as I was used to 800 calories I could stop there. I gained ten pound in a month without going crazy. My plan will be to take it intermittently forever I think.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 14/10/2024 19:59

Hi all, I started Thursday after a month of moujaro doing nothing at 0.25. But docs prescribed me 14mg rybelsus. Since I started I've felt so sick, can barely eat and have lost 6lbs (!).

Should I halve my dose for a month or stick it out?

BangingOn · 14/10/2024 20:01

I’ve never heard of anyone starting at 14mg, that’s a really high dose so no wonder you’re feeling unwell. Did your doctor say why they prescribed you such a high dose?
