Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

Thank you, it’s helpful having this advice from others using it, I feel a bit better but maybe that’s because it’s the weekend so had a lie in. Interestingly though I was starving yesterday and snacked a lot (free food Friday at work) then did drinks out, I drank 4 glasses of Prosecco but felt fine other than a headache came on. However today I have had a banana for breakfast and just been to a morning event for work, had two small plates of food from the canapés and feel absolutely stuffed right now so not sure if that’s the tablet or I am just not hungry.

I’m intrigued that my willpower/ hunger around alcohol was no different as I was cautious of being sick etc from what I have read. But other than that, ok. From my weigh in (I try to do it weekly) I am down 3lbs but not taking that as anything so early on!

Doggymummar · 18/11/2023 09:43

@JaffacakeJanine used to get so hangry, I had it a bit towards the end of my holiday when I had been off tablets for about 5 weeks. I felt sick, had a fever and a vile temper, this is how I used to be all the time when hungry. I had to eat NOW. Over the week I have been taking the tablets this had faded and now I am very happy to not eat at all.

I am taking LOADS of supplements this time as I lost so much hair, it's not noticeable for anyone else but I can feel there is less if it.

Being an older lady I can see the skin tone in my thighs has gone it's getting wrinkly but no one sees them so I can't worry about that. I read an article about Lisa Riley when on holiday she has lost 12 stone, it didn't say how but I think bariatric surgery and she looks amazing but there were swimsuit shots before she had her skin removed and it really was unsightly , which for someone like her I would find distressing, so I am lucky it hasn't sagged all over.

The health benefits outweigh the cosmetics I feel. I have one week before we get into Christmas party season in my job so I will be strong and able to control myself around food and drink.

Here's to a great weekend lovelies.

Hope you all had a good weekend. 1 week of 3mg and down 5lbs so far. Managed to control my drinking on the weekend with lots of water in between. Only eating when hungry which is working well. I wouldn’t say I have massive hunger suppression but I feel as though I am going for longer without feeling hungry and then it comes on and I eat, but fill up a bit quicker than normal. Fatigue has been better, definitely work impacted that as well. Had some good lie-ins and one nap (which I don’t do normally) on the weekend and felt much much better Saturday and Sunday.

Going to do a workout tonight (30 mins HIIT) and see if I can get back into it.

I emailed doctor on day two for a hand hold 😂 he was great just said fatigue is normal, carb or sugar heavy might make me sleepy and to keep
monitoring. Panicked yesterday as my tonsils felt sore, I was coughing and have read the risk of thyroid cancer but today no issues and doctor said to keep him updated.

toilet usage is ok, a bit less frequent but seems ok but have magnesium just in case. Here’s to week 2. Hope you are all doing ok?

Doggymummar · 21/11/2023 13:25

Well done, it will get easier every day if you're like me. After my little holiday gain, and then my period I have lost two pound of that over the weekend. It's hard this time of year, cold and all the parties too, but this is the extra bit of willpower spike I need to do as little damage as possible.

OP posts:
JaffacakeJanine · 21/11/2023 22:08

@RedRum27 I've heard sore throats etc can be caused by acid reflux which is pretty common with Rybelsus, so don't panic. They haven't found thyroid cancer in humans at all from semaglutide. It's always good to keep an eye out, of course!

RedRum27 · 21/11/2023 23:51

i didn’t know that with acid reflux thanks for the tip. If you are losing weight with the 3mg i wonder if it’s possible to do another month of that rather than jump to the 7mg? The doctor gave me 1 box of 3 and 7 but feel like if I don’t need more than 3 I could do another month on it?

Doggymummar · 22/11/2023 08:44

Are you being prescribed on the NHS? If so you might be lucky and they let you. My supplier wouldn't let me when I wanted to stay on 7mg and 14 made me so I'll for a few weeks. I've got a little stockpile of 7 mg now by shopping around and I do have some 14 I can break in half. I would go to 7mg and see how you feel the effect is much stronger than 3.

OP posts:
RedRum27 · 22/11/2023 14:49

No it’s private. I don’t mind paying for another pack of 3mg, I think I feel lucky with minimal side effects so nervous about going up and having lots of issues in 7mg, especially as I seem to be losing with 3mg.

Cjgdjkf · 22/11/2023 18:35

Hi everyone 👋 Still here plodding away!!

I’ve stayed on 7mg since April , did one month of 3mg then moved to 7mg and haven’t gone up as it still works (slowly but I’m happy with that!) @RedRum27 I’m a pound off losing three and half stone and probable only want to lose another 5/6 pounds, I doubt I’ll move to 14mg. Struggling to find any 7mg but I have enough for December at least.

My hair loss seems to have slowed. The other issue sadly still here, some days worse than others to the point I could cry with the pain and do! I definitely need to see the Doctor!

hoping that I can still reign it in over the festive period, I’m definitely partial to a mince pie and seem to have room for them at the moment whereas at the beginning there’s no way I could if managed!

Doggymummar · 22/11/2023 20:07

3 and a half is so good, well done. I still can't get to 5 been hovering around a pound or two away for months and then I'll gain a pound. With Christmas I guess it's gonna be January before I get there. And then there's another 4 or 5 stone to go. I can get in size 14 bottoms now tho so the weight must be shifting off my thighs. Yee haw

OP posts:
JaffacakeJanine · 24/11/2023 01:11

@RedRum27 I tried one 7mg and felt so awful on it I ended going back to 3mg for a month or so until my body felt more used to the pills.

I suspect those who report extreme nausea have moved up too quickly for their body, best you can do is examine how you are taking to the Rybelsus, and if it feels 3mg is doing the job, stick on it for a bit longer.

You might end up at 1.5 months feeling ready to move up, I got to around 2.5 months on 3mg and then found diminishing effects, so started alternating 7mg and 3mg on days so the dose wasn't as dramatic. Now months later, moving from 7 to 14, I'm doing the same and taking 7mg+3mg every day (leftover pills!) To avoid the dramatic jump to 14. I'm very cautious, but as a result have minimised sickness and felt pretty good throughout the whole procedure!

JaffacakeJanine · 24/11/2023 01:14

@Doggymummar huge congrats on size 14 bottoms! I think I'm also at a size 14 finally 🥳

@Cjgdjkf incredible loss! Well done you!

Cjgdjkf · 24/11/2023 06:30

Thanks @Doggymummar and well done you too! I’ve been a bit like that, 2lbs on 2lbs off but I find when I make the effort to put exercise classes in and do my 10k steps each day, the weight comes off easier.

thanks @JaffacakeJanine getting there!

So ladies my only mild panic now is there are no places that have 7mg, one has stipulated they will no longer be selling it for weight loss. Have been offered 3mg or wegovy which I dont want as its injection. What’s everyone else doing?

JaffacakeJanine · 24/11/2023 11:01

@Cjgdjkf are they still selling 14mg? I'd be tempted to half them, after much research online I've found it doesn't effect the absorbency in the drugs to do so! But 14mg is a lot harder to find, I pretty much dive on it once it's available

Cjgdjkf · 24/11/2023 11:09

Nope I ca t find 14mg @JaffacakeJanine as I was tempted to do that! The panic levels are getting higher as a quick search this morning showed no stock anywhere!

RedRum27 · 24/11/2023 11:12

@Cjgdjkf how was your transition from 3 to 7? Well done the 3 and a half, that’s amazing!

Side effects are still minimal. I was out for dinner yesterday and didn't finish my food which was new for me and had 1 glass of red wine with water. But I haven’t really felt hungry all day today. I’m trying to keep up with healthy eating habits (smaller portions, exercise and balanced diet) for when I eventually come off so the not eating thing is a bit unusual ha. I have managed two 30 min HIIT workouts this week.

I am back in the UK for Christmas in two weeks so have ordered an extra box of 3mg just in case I don’t want to go to the 7mg. I don’t want Christmas ruined by being poorly so will stick with that providing I keep losing and go to 7mg in January…we shall see.

big test tomorrow willpower wise - midday brunch (have gone none alcoholic option) and then a work party in the evening, we shall see how it goes!

@JaffacakeJanine that’s good advice I think to monitor and see for sure!

crazyoldcatman · 05/12/2023 22:53

I started on my first 3mg on Nov 6. I'm 10lbs down so far and although I had no real side effects, almost a month in and the acid reflux is only calmed, ironically, by eating something....

This is new this week so hoping jt goes as mysteriously as it arrived. The 7s arrived this week. Should I split them in half while this is ongoing? Don't want a sicky start to the feative period!

Doggymummar · 06/12/2023 09:03

Hi and welcome, the leaflet recommends you don't split them. And I never have but I guess it's up to you. I'm back to 14 mg in 4daya and that made me puke a lot last time, so it's up to you. Well done on the loss.

OP posts:
RedRum27 · 08/12/2023 01:51

There’s a group of FB for Rybelsus weight loss support and it seems lots of people split the tablets even though the advice says not to. I’m now into my 4th week of 3mg. Had 5lb loss in my first week, 0 the second week, 4lb this week so hoping to keep the trend going. I am going to keep with 3mg whilst at home for Christmas and see if it continues to work rather than go to 7mg and make myself poorly.

I kept a bit of a food diary and will say that the week I lost nothing, I ate out nearly every day of the week and drank lots of alcohol (nights out etc) whereas this week have been on holiday but still went to the gym and noticed the tablet made me not feel ‘starving’ after 2 hours of eating. Had a good breakfast, small snack mid way and then a light dinner, with far less alcohol (lots of water throughout too). Don’t really feel hungry in general, not finishing huge portions and stopping before I become over full which makes a change for me who used to finish everything on my plate, so I am hoping that this is the ‘food noise’ that people refer to.

I do believe for me anyway, I still have to make positive changes to my eating habits and keep up the exercise, the tablets I think at the moment just help the process.

Hope you are all doing well heading into the Christmas season.

JaffacakeJanine · 09/12/2023 11:04

Absolutely, you need to make changes as well as the tablets! For me I find it's still easy to eat high calorie but non-filling food ie. Chocolate - what I try to do is have a meal, this will fill me up entirely and erase the want for snacking. However on the days I CBA to make a meal it can still be something I need to keep an eye on!

Fellow Rybelsus users - I'm finding it difficult to source more 14mg, any luck? Rightangled hasn't been fruitful for a while. I might need to think about moving to Wegovy as my supply is drying up!

Doggymummar · 09/12/2023 11:45

I have needed any for a long time, I have two months worth still, moving to 14MG again Monday 🤢. I didn't realise it was still a problem to get.

OP posts:
crazyoldcatman · 09/12/2023 14:44

Popped my first 7 this morning. Not roaming far from home today in fear of vomcano.

Dinosaurpoo · 10/12/2023 15:52

Hi! I haven’t posted for a few weeks. Feeling a bit disillusioned that it’s not working as well for me lately. I’m definitely hungrier the past few weeks. It’s still not too bad, but I’ve hit a plateau with my loss. And with Christmas looming, I really don’t want to go backwards.
The constipation has also finally kicked in - I almost thought I’d got away with that! But the past week has been hard in many ways 💩

I’ve got some 14, so will try upping to that and see how it goes. I’ve also been struggling to get hold of any, but think I have enough for 2 weeks.

I hope everyone else is doing ok?

Doggymummar · 10/12/2023 18:15

I've been on 7 for a month and eating everything in sight and drinking for the first time in 9 months. Haven't dared get on the scales. Back on 14mg tomorrow so hopefully will get things under control again.

OP posts:
Doggymummar · 11/12/2023 08:28

I thought I would write an accountability post to set me on the right track. Seemingly I don't need to. By some miracle, I had a month off the tablets completely from October 11th to November 11th and gained 2lb including a week's holiday. I have then taken 7 mg for 30 days and eaten what I wanted including 3 litre bottles of Bailey's, cake, chocolates, mince pies you name it and lost a pound. Usually I would have gained a stone over this period. So I am back on 14mg took it 14 mins ago and the heartburn and burps are back. Deep joy! Starting over at 195.6lb, that's 5 stone lighter than this day last year. And 4 stone 4lb lighter that when I started in March.

It's a miracle
