Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy new year all!! I haven’t been brave enough to wight myself yet. Started back a few days ago. I just went back to 7mg, but the exhaustion was something else! Probably not helped by a busy new year and stinking cold. I cut my tablets in half for a few days and will try 7 again from tomorrow I think.
the house is still full of food, which is making it extra difficult! Can’t wait to get back to work and a routine next week.
@Londonlady365 I have used them for other prescription stuff, but not rybelsus.

BangingOn · 04/01/2024 17:06

Happy New Year everyone, I’ve not posted for a while but I’m still slowly but steadily losing. I started in May and I am now 2lbs off a 4 stone loss, which I’m really happy with.

My body has become more used to the tablets now and I can eat more than at the start, especially at certain points in my cycle, but they are still having an effect and I’m definitely not back to my previous habits.

Rightangled and Pill Doctor have both had stock of all strengths in recently.

Doggymummar · 04/01/2024 19:56

Hey @BangingOn and @Dinosaurpoo great you are still going strong. 4 stone is epic. Well done. It was scary getting on the scales after a break but it's got to be done. I've been back in 14 for 22 days now and it seems to have built up in my system now. Back to not stomaching alcohol and eating tiny meals. The weightloss will hopefully start again soon.

Thanks @Doggymummar and welcome back to the 14mg club. I’m sure anything you’ve put on will come off quickly, especially as much of it is bound to be water rather than fat.

Londonlady365 · 06/01/2024 12:04

I agree it will be mainly water. I have been off since mid November. I think I have gained about 4lbs but it's definitely more water than fat. The carb bloat is very noticeable after rybelsus stopping it. My breasts ache like PMT except I have gone through menopause. My stomach has gone round again and my joints ache. I am tempted to stay on 14mg twice a week to stop the bloat rather than lose weight.

Doggymummar · 06/01/2024 13:48

Funny you should say about the breasts. Mine are so tender the shower stings and they are heavy like my period is due. I'm still having periods, but on HRT and it's not due for a couple of weeks. I wish it were water, but I think it's Bailey's! 😂

Hi everyone sorry for the radio silence, Christmas was hectic, left the UK again and straight back to work on the 2nd. I stayed on the 3mg whilst at home and stayed the same on the scales as I was on holiday for a week before flying back to the UK…which was great for first few days at home. It was ok ‘managing’ food overall I stopped eating when I felt full - didn’t even finish my Christmas dinner!! But as the days wore on I ate more than usual. Sadly after I did that run in the freezing cold, I didn’t exercise again, was so busy! Tonight was the first night back in the gym and I do feel sluggish. Weighed myself last week and have out on 3lbs, really hungry during the day and it’s taking me longer to feel full so wondering if the 3mg is not having the impact. It’s my 2nd month on 3mg so might go to the 7mg tomorrow and keep the 3mg that’s left as reserve in case the 7mg is terrible for me? My biggest worry was the side effects of going up a dose but feel I have taken 3mg for a good while and does feel it’s working as much now.

I hope you all that a great Christmas and New Year and doing well!

RedRum27 · 08/01/2024 14:36

@Doggymummar similar to you, don’t even want to look at the scales! I only weigh once a week and find it does help to track. But after Christmas and NY….I’m not so sure

RedRum27 · 08/01/2024 14:37

How did you all find the move to 7mg? Tempted do it tomorrow whilst on a training day but do have exercise booked in twice this week so yet again worried I won’t have the energy…although still a bit jet lagged so maybe it will cover it up ha! I remember the first week of 3mg I was shattered for about a week.

Doggymummar · 08/01/2024 18:19

7ng wasn't a problem for me 14mg was where the vomiting came in. Sounds like it's time you stepped it up tho.

I apologise for the blatantly self-congratulatory post, but I don’t really talk about my weight loss in real life and needed to share that I have just taken delivery of a size 14 Me+Em dress and IT FITS. Comfortably fits and looks really good. In May I was struggling with size 18s and in denial about being any bigger.

These tablets are a miracle.

RedRum27 · 09/01/2024 15:00

Congratulations @BangingOn no need to apologise that is a fantastic achievement and worth celebrating!!! Well done 😀🎉🥳 what was your Rybelsus journey? Did you work your way up to 14mg and do other bits or just a low dose?

BangingOn · 09/01/2024 15:16

@RedRum27 thank you! My weight loss has slowed a little on the scales so it’s really motivating to see it in other ways.

I started on 3mg in May, did one month each on 3mg and 7mg then started 14mg in July. I definitely find myself able to eat more than at the start, which probably explains my slowing loss since Christmas, but I did find an extra half a tablet as a one off made a difference when I’ve plateaued in the past so will try the same again tomorrow.

Doggymummar · 09/01/2024 19:07

Oh how wonderful! Congratulations

Thanks @Doggymummar How are you feeling this week?

Doggymummar · 10/01/2024 13:42

First week back at work so it's an adjustment 😕

Londonlady365 · 11/01/2024 09:56

I can't do it...coming off is horrible. I am about 7 weeks off and the hunger is painful. I had forgotten what it is like. Also the carb bloat is awful. So new plan. I have gone back on 7mg. If OK in a week will do a month on 14mg which should get me back to target weight. Then I am going to try 14mg twice a week as maintenance. I found alternate days was noticeable but very slow loss so twice a week might be the sweet spot for maintenance.

Doggymummar · 11/01/2024 11:59

Yes, it's really bad, I've just got back to not feeling hungry on 14mg it's taken me six weeks. Before I felt I was starving all the time. Good luck

Cjgdjkf · 11/01/2024 13:50

Morning @Londonlady365 oh no that does not sound good. I’m off it at the moment, it weighing but it’s early days so I think I’m still being ‘good’ with food choices/amount I eat. I’ve been staying on 7mg and have a couple of months left so will see how your plan goes about doing it every few days. I’m never not not hungry, I’m always hungry but after I eat it’s now like I know when to stop if that makes sense and I just don’t eat for the sake of it. I did think it was wearing off as at the beginning I definitely had no interest in food whatsoever. I normally don’t eat till lunch by which stage I’m really hungry but then when I do it I fill up quite quickly and then that’s me, no snacking till a lighter dinner. I’m hoping that continues as snacking is my downfall! Well done @BangingOn thats a fantastic weight loss 🥳 How you doing on the 7mg @RedRum27 I was horrendously sick which is why I’m too scared to ever move to 14mg and as it still works I feel happy to stay on it! Hope everyone else is okay x

Cjgdjkf · 11/01/2024 13:51

*sorry was a typo meant to say I’m not weighing at the moment

RedRum27 · 12/01/2024 23:50

@Cjgdjkf so far so good…no side effects other than a day or so of tiredness but combined with first day week back at work I can’t tell which is which. I don’t feel the hunger suppression massively like I did with the 3mg weirdly but a light breakfast and two small meals at the moments are about enough. I am down another 1lb this week though. How long were you on 7mg for? If for quite some time maybe try the 14mg…from this thread I get the impression the longer you’re on a certain tablet the better your body responds when you move up.

JaffacakeJanine · 14/01/2024 09:24

@RedRum27 I'd definitely say being longer on the tablet makes things easier moving up! Your body will get used to the meds more and more.

I haven't really lost that much over Christmas - surpriseeeee! - but I'm glad to report despite falling off the wagon a little (not having an oven or hob for a time has completely disrupted any normal eating patterns and have been forced to survive on a diet of pot noodles, takeaways and salad for quite some time now!) - I am actually down 1 pound since my last weigh in in November! So although not a massive loss, considering before this would have been a recipe for massive weight gain, feeling fairly chuffed and still in love with these meds! 😍😍

Hoping a return to normalcy will also be a return to a shrinking waistline ;)

Doggymummar · 14/01/2024 11:05

Well gone @JaffacakeJanine now I've ditched the Bailey's I am losing a steady pound every other day. We still have lots of Christmas chocolate and crisps etc so it's hard going.n

RedRum27 · 15/01/2024 23:36

I don’t feel as though the 7mg is working as well as the 3mg when I first started. I have woken up hungry and yesterday I comfortably ate 3 meals which didn’t happen on 3mg until towards the very end. I also started my period yesterday and put on 2lbs this morning. A bit frustrated but have to trust the process right?

BangingOn · 16/01/2024 08:21

@RedRum27 I find that my appetite and ability to eat varies massively at different points in my cycle. One week I feel like I could eat too much and then the next I have zero appetite again.
