Thank you for the codes. Just placed my first order. Very nervous (injecting side effects etc) but so depressed about my weight I knew I had to take desperate measures. Fingers crossed it comes tomorrow as I'm home all day. I'm not telling anyone irl. Just everyone here

Yes I understand 🙂 but I was prescribed the .5, I didn't chose it, I guess because they may have been short of the .25 at the time. And because of that, I guess my second pen automatically defaulted to a 1mg dose. By then I did know that I needed a .5 for at least some of those doses so I suppose I could have queried it but it didn't occur to me. So none of them were actively my choice at the time, although it's worked out exceptionally well for me.

I still have a sealed 1mg because that's the next iteration, however as recommended by Novo Nordisk, I'll be sticking to dosing at .5 at least for a while because it's working well for me, so I'll still be counting clicks.

I just wanted to point out that there are other, quite benign reasons for needing to count clicks even if you're sticking to the recommend dosing regime. 🙂

Peridot1 · 12/04/2023 08:02

@imaginationhasfailedme - that’s exactly why I didn’t like the tablets either. And I kept forgetting to take it first thing and having a cup of tea. And yes it was so bitter!

Peridot1 · 12/04/2023 08:09

@LSGX - I think once you reach a healthy BMI it’s up to you really. Obviously if you go back to eating how you ate to gain the weight you will gain it back. The manufacturer says Ozempic should be thought of in the same way as a medication for blood pressure and that you would expect to take that for life. Obviously Ozempic is very expensive so most of us don’t want to do that. Although I will if I need to. It’s an idea to have a plan of what you will do after. If you continue with My Juniper they will probably be able to tell you what they recommend. For me I’m hoping to reduce my dose gradually and see how I go. And most importantly eat right. Minimal carbs and processed foods, high protein and fibre.

Peridot1 · 12/04/2023 08:15

@MedievalMadness - good luck with it all. Counting clicks is easy and lots of people do it. Mainly to save money! Ozempic is expensive and if you can make your pens last longer it’s worth doing. Quite a lot of people use the 1mg pen to take 0.5 for instance as it works out much cheaper. Obviously that’s not in the manufacturer’s or supplier’s interests so they don’t advertise it. And obviously there is less room for patient error to just follow the instructions on the pen. But once you’ve used the .25mg pen you’ll know how easy it all is.

Thanks @Peridot1 for the reply.
To be honest, I think I'd be happy to stay on it for life if if means having a normal appetite and so being able to maintain my weight in the healthy BMI bracket. I don't care about the cost - I don't drink, I don't smoke, we almost never have takeaways and go out only rarely. I'd do without something else to be a healthy weight.

I’m considering starting this but have a query re exercise. I have PCOS and am perimenopausal so I get a bit of a double whammy re slow metabolism. Despite swimming 2km twice a week, cycling 50 miles a week and doing a long 10 mile fell walk on a Sunday along with a Mediterranean diet I’m not making a dent in my weight. Currently at 14.5 stones and I’m 5ft6.
My question is, if you are eating less on Ozempic, can you feel that when you exercise? Do you feel you have less energy because you are taking in less fuel? I really love my swimming and walking but am worried that I’m going to run out of steam if I’m eating less.

magnic · 12/04/2023 09:26

I had to upload a photo abs just received a message asking for photo ID. Passport or driving licence, which I've sent. Is this normal? Any chance I'll receive order tomorrow do you think?

MedievalMadness · 12/04/2023 09:32

That makes sense thanks. I was puzzled why people were needing to buy needles when the pen came with them. Very good to know there’s more than 4 weeks in the 0.25 pen. Thanks for this.

mumwheresmyribena · 12/04/2023 09:40

I swim 100 lengths 3 times a week, do an hour of Ashtanga yoga/day and walk a lot - maybe not hiking 10km but at least 5km/day @PauliesWalnuts I plan to get back into running quite soon too. I do however I do carry me emergency babybel and 6 almonds with me and have had to break out the babybel once after swimming.

I'm eating high protein, high fibre, lowish carb, smaller portions, very little processed food as per Ozempic's recommendations but not much dissimilar to my normal diet, just less of it. My cals come in at anything between 1200 and 1500/day. I'm in my 60s so post-meno, 163cm and currently 87kg if that helps. I've been on Ozempic since mid-Feb.

SarahC50 · 12/04/2023 09:49

@PauliesWalnuts I'm on week three and have found it hard to do any exercise due to nausea and fatigue. I am managing walking and yoga but nothing strenuous. I think I am eating far less about 1400 calories too so maybe not enough for hard exercise. That said I too am peri menopausal,on long term morphine, chronically ill and have lost eight pounds already x

I have none of the bad side effects (nausea etc) and am still managing to run fine, but it does feel harder work than pre ozempic and I’m a bit slower. I’m not too concerned since I am hoping the ozempic is a temporary thing I can start coming off in the autumn. You might need to carry snacks, possibly some carbs if you find you’re sensitive to it dropping your blood sugar since combined with heavy exercise you would have a risk of hitting a low and feeling awful. those tiny packs of haribo are good!

Eating less but higher quality is important , more protein so lean chicken , full fat Greek yoghurt, nuts , avocados etc will help. I think it takes a few weeks to feel the benefits of healthy eating.
Once the weight started dropping off I was keen to speed up the weight loss process but increased exercise was gradual , flat walking and swimming soon became hill walking and then gentle jogging became a five mile run etc etc.
Combination of losing some weight and having more energy due to a healthier diet .

What is Novo Nordisc please?

@Beenalongwinter - Novo Nordisk are the manufacturer of Ozempic. They are a pharmaceutical company.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/04/2023 11:37

If anyone has the code for myjuniper I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Ukmeds annoyingly constantly out of stock despite them telling me they get stock daily.

I'll message you one.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/04/2023 11:49

Received. Thanks.

After dose 3 I think I'm starting to notice a difference in appetite so im going to stick with it for at least a 2nd pen to see what good I can do in the 8 or so weeks.

Hopefully as I told them I'll have been on 0.25 and then 0.5 (eeking out all doses from the 0.25 pen) they will prescribe the 1mg pen which I can use to complete my 0.5 weeks then move to 1mg.

PauliesWalnuts · 12/04/2023 12:10

Thanks to all who posted good advice/their experiences with exercise. It’s good to know that I won’t necessarily run out of puff halfway up a hill as long as I make some adjustments.

Thanks, my apologies I should have used Google . This thread is becoming very informative so much more than just a discount thread.

Mine has just arrived and safely hidden in the fridge. Tomorrow is my plan, I’m quite excited to get started!

Twilightstarbright · 12/04/2023 13:53

@LemonPledge555 mine too! I’m going to inject tonight once DH is home in case I keel over. @Fortheloveofus has yours arrived?

completely agree there will always be something so I need to just crack on!

Fortheloveofus · 12/04/2023 14:22

@LemonPledge555 @Twilightstarbright
It arrived about 10 minutes ago. Definitely going to take first dose tonight. Before bed maybe? In the thigh? From reading through other posts it seems taking it at night, it might have taken effect by the time you wake up next morning and injecting in thigh seems to give less side effects?
Stupidly nervously excited!
