Hi,

I'm starting back on a healthy regime today, I was going to start on the 1st, but seize the day and all that.

Got on the scales this morning and am 206.2 lbs 😣

I'd like to get to 130 lbs so have around 5st/74 lbs to lose.

Feel free to join me but I aim to post daily to keep myself on track. I'm going to go low carb, maybe do an 8 hour eating window and keep a small eye on calories. I have gym membership but haven't been for a while, and also exercise witha friend a couple of times a week.

I had a good day yesterday:

2L water
L: Cucumber, mini sweet pepper, tomatoes, ham, chorizo, olives and mackerel
D: Pork, Broccolli with garlic and cheese and 1 jalepeno cheese bite

I will join you Smile I have a similar amount to lose although I'm starting from a slightly higher weight than you. I'm also needing to try and lower the amount of carbs and sugar I eat as I have pcos

I have insulin resistance issues, and huge inflammation when I eat shite.

I had a lovely salad for lunch today, very similar to yesterday and planning fish and veg for dinner tonight.

201.6 lbs today

Yesterday I had:

2L water
L: Salad, gherkin, olives, chorizo, a tiny bit of coleslaw, mackerel pate, crispy onions on top
S: A fried egg, DH was cooking it and it popped so I had that one
S: A frickadellen sausage
D: A small fish, boquerones fritos, courgette & aubergine

That's a great loss so far! Are you going to weigh every day?

Day 1 for me today. I've got a fruit salad for breakfast, a wholemeal pitta with chicken salad and cucumber sticks for lunch, and chilli with cauli rice and broccoli for tea. I never eat white bread, pasta or rice, so I'm aiming to eat only wholegrain in minimal amounts

I am guilty of being a daily weigher, though I will try not to.

Adding a small amount of wholemeal wheat is going to much easier. I'm going to drop it all out fo rnow and maybe add some back in, in a few weeks.

I've had an omelette with onion, garlic, mushrooms and cheese so far today and I've got cod burgers, these are just pressed fish, no batter, and broccolli, aubergine & courgette for dinner.

Hello, please can I join you, with 4 stone to lose? I'm 15.13 in old money.

Be lovely to have some support from those in a similar place.

I lost 3 stone in 2020 on low carb, then the menopause hit and I have slowly put it all on again due to muscular pain. And HRT seems to hate low-carb, so calorie counting it is this time.

@SugarAddict101 and @Diddelydi - I'd like to do 18:6, too, maybe after I've done this first week! I'm quite motivated with exercise, I could do more!

I started yesterday so will post my meals from tomorrow.

That's not good to know, I've been taking HRT for 3 months now, but not really hbeen watching my diet at all until now.

I would love to join!
Lost a couple of stone prior to xmas and have put half of it back on so ready get back into it.
SW: 253
CW: 235
GW: 168 (with a target of 187 for August)
I've got a lot to lose so hoping its doable. Calorie deficit with a focus on getting protein - tricky as vegetarian and eat very very little dairy (trying to be plant based).
Today has been a solid start. Fruit and yogurt for breakfast, faux chicken vogel sandwich for lunch and quorn and veg for dinner. Within 1,500 cals and 10,000 steps.

Thanks, @Diddelydi - same, I think, 1500. Nothing daft, so the same as @avocado44 too.

I would also like to hit 10k steps daily. I work from home, so it's too easy to work through and run out of day!

I will use the calculation of 10,500 cals per week, to allow for more calories on evenings out, so then cut down on other days.

@Diddelydi - doing it as a weekly total is such a good way of doing it. How often have i written off a day/week for one high calorie 'slip'. Must try and think like that!

I would probably do better if I cut out grains and wheat completely, but I love them too muchGrin and I know if I cut them out completely I would then just binge on them as I would feel restricted

@avocado44 you've done amazingly to lose so much so far!

@Diddelydi I’ve started today at exactly the same weight as you! Which protein shakes do you use?

If anyone uses nutracheck for calorie counting you can set it to have easier days, so it will give you a higher allowance for them. I’ve set mine for a Saturday as I typically eat more then than I would during the week

@DixieSinclair I use an online company called KeeDiet for the shakes.
That's a good idea having different calories limits on different days, kind of what I do with my weekly allowance.

@DixieSinclair I'm also a lover of grains, wheat and pulses, and they are certainly beneficial for me during the menopause. Just less of them!

I am trying to do 18:6 from today, so will eat between 1pm - 7pm.

Food for today (1353):

Wholemeal pitta + 2 boiled eggs.
Tuna salad with extra salad.
Omelette + steamed veg
Youghurt, banana, apple.

Exercise - already had a 30 minute row, but will also do a bodypump class (missed yeserday as child at home). ALSO need to start the daily walking habit! Trying not to fixate on counting steps for now, just on a half hour walk.

I'm no expert, just noticed it made my aching joints worse if I didn't have any pulses and things like barley and brown rice.

@50FootWave Thats probably inflammation. I get it bad from wheat, junk and unhealthy food.

I'm wanting to make a dahl lentil soup today but lentils are carby. I might make it and see how I get on. I want to up my soups while its cold, a salad at lunch and soup for dinner works really well for me.

I was 201.2 this morning. Yesterday in total I had:

2L water
2 egg omelette, with cheese, mushroom, onion and garlic
a cod burger, cheesy garlic broccolli, air fried aubergine, pan fried courgette, salad
a frickadellen sausage
a cheese slice
some pickled onions

Today I plan to have omelette or tuna salad and dahl lentil soup.
