Thought I'd save you the hassle @poorpaws.

Well done for those who have lost and good luck to those struggling.

My focus at the moment is just to be wiser for food selection and to keep active. The slow moving scales can wait although I did check this morning and showing I'm nearly back to 14 and a half stone.

@TalkToTheHand123 thanks for the thread. I was getting anxious. Just at3 a packet of Percy Pigs. I don’t even like them!

effiesgoldwig · 20/12/2022 22:26

I came looking to see if there was one! Thanks @TalkToTheHand123

effiesgoldwig · 20/12/2022 22:28

@triplecheeese
@BeyondMyWits
We are here. Who else are we missing?

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 20/12/2022 23:11

<slinks back in eating some Christmas cake and a mince pie, whilst still needing to lose 3 stone>

TalkToTheHand123 · 21/12/2022 00:11

Managed to avoid a few offers of chocolate cake today, but the scales have not been my friend tonight. A few lbs increase. Hopefully can get back on track in the next few days 🤔. Seems like I need to be really strict with myself.

Hellooooooo ❤

its 1:30, poorly baby has been wailing at me for some time, and I want to eat biscuits.

TalkToTheHand123 · 21/12/2022 08:11

Aww @triplecheeese , sending some willpower.

Plan to go back to morning fasting after a few lbs gains, although it turned out to be a lot of bloat.

BeyondMyWits · 21/12/2022 08:17

Found you!! Thank you for the heads up @effiesgoldwig .

(Just putting current weight to let me know so I don't have to go looking for the old thread.... 15st2lb)

We went and did our M&S food shop for Xmas at 6am today... empty of shoppers, crammed with fresh food with long dates. So turkey crown, ham, beef and veg by the bucketload.

Got 4 - 5 days worth of food in under 20 minutes. Bliss. BUT now I've got to go to work...

Nishky32 · 21/12/2022 08:18

Could I join in please? The last few years have been jumping from plan to plan.

I have been beating myself up, but then realised I was treating October as my starting weight as I re-joined Slimming World on a feee 12 week plan- however I looked back at the start of the year and realised I had lost 19.5 lbs since then. So even if I gain a little in the next 2 weeks that is a reasonable loss.

Then hopefully start some momentum next year.

BeyondMyWits · 21/12/2022 08:41

All are welcome @Nishky32 ... we are a supportive group, no judgement, everyone just muddles along generally losing weight over time, and sharing tips. You sound like you are doing really well over the year! And always a good idea to have some support in place for all the new years resolutions (and guilt!).

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 21/12/2022 09:46

That's a great shout about M&S @BeyondMyWits, I might do that on Saturday as I'm working till then!

Pass the biscuits please @triplecheeese as DTS1(7) was demonic yesterday evening, woke me up at 2.30am to whinge that he was thirsty, and had a meltdown this morning through utter exhaustion. Sigh. He has ASD and can be challenging at the best of times but I'm living on my nerves around him at the moment...

Zebracat · 21/12/2022 11:05

Oh dear @ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I woke my Dh up at 4.30 because I have a stinking cold and all the snot had solidified in my head. He made me tea which was very kind. Do you think your Ds might be sick? It was almost always the case with my kids that when I got close to the end of my tether the fever or chicken pox or whatever would emerge.

LindaEllen · 21/12/2022 11:26

Hey all. I'd like to start from January please! I know it's the biggest cliche in the world, but I've just got so much going on (Christmas, a wedding, New Year party plus other family get togethers in between) that there's absolutely no point being hard on myself.

I've lost a stone over the course of this year so even if I gain a bit in the next week or so I won't be back to where I was.

I am starting fresh in the new year for absolute sure.

poorpaws · 21/12/2022 17:55

Ha I've found you all. DD arrived this morning to start thread 3 and she found you.

I've give up until new year but I'll definitely be on it then. My world has gone mad. One friend has decided to emigrate to Australia and is leaving at the end of January and another friend found her brother had hanged himself. I am in total shock on both of these and coping only with the aid of chocolate.

I'm Christmas food shopping tomorrow morning and not looking forward to it. We have a Christmas get together on Christmas Eve but after that it should be fairly quiet.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl so pleased to have you back, stay with us this time. 😁 we'll do this in 2023.

@Nishky32 welcome, we are a lovely group and I'll be with you in the new year cheering you downwards.

Well done for getting this far everyone. Next year nothing is going to stop us. Mini goal in January? Longer term goal to Easter? Decide on your goals by beginning of January.

Have a good week everyone.

poorpaws · 21/12/2022 17:56

@LindaEllen welcome to you too, I nearly missed you out, sorry. I'll be cheering you on in the new year too.

triplecheeese · 21/12/2022 21:51

Calorie free biscuits all round 🍪 welcome back @ClaraTheImpossibleGirl. Sorry that DTS1 was tricky last night! Is it Christmas and the overstimulation?

@Nishky32 and @LindaEllen welcome! You've done so well to get this far and you will rock 2023 ❤️

roseapothecary · 22/12/2022 12:18

Can I join please? I lost 35lb earlier this year but have now regained 10 and struggling to get back in track. Really worried I'm going to gain it all back, and I still have 40lb to lose.

Nishky32 · 22/12/2022 14:10

Hi all, thanks for the welcome- the scales this morning said that I had gained 3.5 lbs- I actually don’t care, I know I can lose and intend to enjoy Christmas

TalkToTheHand123 · 22/12/2022 14:57

Nice to read a few newbies joining ☺️.

@poorpaws , sorry to hear the issues.

Xmas sounding a challenge for food.

I've been having plans cancelled due to rota cockups and child care issues. I wonder why I bother sometimes 😂.

Focusing on avoiding ready meals and having more jacket potatoes, salads, chicken, tuna and fruit. Cancelled plans meant I've been to the gym more so hopefully start off next year ok weighing wise.

Going to try do a bit more yoga as nice light exercise and seems to help with bloating.

Zebracat · 22/12/2022 18:24

@poorpaws so sorry for your news. Very hard for your friend to lose her brother in that way. And hard for you to adapt to a long distant friendship, not at all the same.
I am feeling really poorly with a rotten cold. I’m quite enjoying the rest though.watched the African Queen today. Cracking film.

TalkToTheHand123 · 24/12/2022 14:56

Weighed this morning and just under 15 stone so not lost many lbs this year, however, body shape seems to be better, clothes not as tight and eating habit is in a lot better control. Feel lighter and a bit fitter too.

Quietly confident I can continue into next year (following a little indulgence tonight and tomorrow).

OP posts:
Zebracat · 24/12/2022 16:36

I have got back under 98, which means no loss at all in December. Idont know where the underlining came from. Couldn't do that if I tried.
I would love to just forget all restrictions over Christmas, but it would then take me until March to lose it again. I shall aim for moderate indulgence. Just had a mince pie. Twas delicious.
merry Christmas one and all. Thanks for the friendship and shared endeavour.

effiesgoldwig · 24/12/2022 20:33

It has been a mad week here and I've had two buffets in two days so it's been a bit of a disaster for the diet but I think it was a bit inevitable really. Christmas dinner itself will hopefully be alright as I'll load up on veg anyway.

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time @poorpaws Good idea to set some goals for January though. I want to lose another pound to get to a full stone loss and then another 4 would get me to 16.5.

@Zebracat the underlining is hilarious 😂 moderate indulgence sounds like a plan to me.

@TalkToTheHand123 good that you've got some none weight achievements with feeling more comfortable in your own skin!

Welcome aboard @Nishky32 and @roseapothecary

BeyondMyWits · 25/12/2022 08:55

triplecheeese · 25/12/2022 20:22
