I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

I got on the scales at 15st6.8 this morning which is grossly overweight for my height. I managed 10,000 steps yesterday, going it for it today and every other day. Need to cut down on the booze and snacks and hopefully I can start by shedding a stone!

I had some old slimfast so had a shake and a banana for breakfast. Out to lunch with SIL, but then another shake AND NO WINE this evening will be a start...

EllieSattler · 12/09/2021 09:20

Me. I have put on so much weight since the start of the year.

Chocolatebuttercream · 12/09/2021 09:23

Yes! I am in. I'm 5'8 and I weigh over 13 stone. This isn't normal for me, I've had two babies and never lost the weight I put on during depression and infertility just before having them. Husband works away and I have no time to exercise, and the chocolate and bread&butter are just too tempting.

If I can lose a stone by Christmas, I Will still be overweight but I will feel so much better.

Let's do this!

Chocolatebuttercream · 12/09/2021 09:31

So what strategies is everyone using? I'm tempted to give up sugar, it's extreme but in a way it's easier as you just have one rule to stick to, rather than calorie counting etc. Also it would be good for my toddler - when I eat sugary things she wants them, so she has too much sugar as well and I want to break the cycle for her

PhoenixReincarnated · 12/09/2021 10:16

Me too please. I've actually been dieting for the last three weeks (tomorrow is my third weigh in). I've gone from 12st 7.2lb to 12st 1.9lb. My birthday is two weeks tomorrow so I'm hoping to get under 12st by then and hopefully posting here will encourage me to continue on after that. I want to get to 10st 6lb eventually. I'm calorie counting, it's what worked for me when I went from 15st 6lb to 11st 10lb a few years ago.

MrsSoft · 12/09/2021 10:17

Morning everyone, glad of the company

My plan is 1200 calories a day and I will be aiming for 10,000 steps every day. Sounds easy when you write it. 😁

Me too please ! I’m 11stone7 which is about a stone over the weight I’ve been all my adult life. Caused by too much wine and chocolate over lockdowns !

I’ve been trying to be conscious of what I’m eating the last few weeks and it’s dropped a little bit so I know I just need to work at it.

SpecialDeliveryService · 12/09/2021 10:26

I'm in! I'm 5m pp with dc2 and about a stone off my pre dc1 weight. Lost the first 15lbs but struggling to shift the second. Mainly because I live on salted crisps, coffee and limited willpower Grin but there's only so much breastfeeding is gonna do for me so time to get into action

wildseas · 12/09/2021 10:26

I’m trying to reduce carbs, sugar and wine plus keep a bit of an eye on overall calories.

But am taking the kids to Pizza Hut for lunch today so not sure how well I’ll get on with that today!

SpecialDeliveryService · 12/09/2021 10:28

My plan is to cut the crisps and replace with actual food. Also drink more water. I'd say less coffee but I don't have the stamina for that Smile

LeftyLou · 12/09/2021 10:37

Hi, would love to lose a stone for Christmas so would like to join Smile I have steadily been loosing weight 8 lbs so far but has taken a couple of months so will like to try and put some more effort in.

I am currently 12 stone 13.

Toomuch2019 · 12/09/2021 10:54

I'm in. Plan is to eat less rubbish, restrict eating windows and do more steps

MrsEricBana · 12/09/2021 11:00

Me too please!! That's a good and achievable goal, we can do this 💪 I have tried every diet going and anything too strict might work well (Blood Sugar Diet, WW) but then it ALL goes back on and more. My plan is major on fruit, veg, yogurt, fish, chicken, eggs, fluids and have less of the other stuff.

MrsSoft · 12/09/2021 11:24

40 minute dog walk done. I am now a hot sweaty mess.

Blankspace4 · 12/09/2021 11:26

Yes please.

Starting weight is 14st 1, feeling like a failure after getting down to 13st 10 and then going on holiday.

I’m quite tall but BMI has now tipped in to obese so I need to lose more than a stone but if I can get there by Christmas at least it will massively improve my self esteem.

Just need to work out HOW - step count and exercise obviously but my diet is pretty crap

StarryNightSparkles · 12/09/2021 11:28

Hi, I would like to join please 😊
I am 5ft and over 13stone 😳

Radyward · 12/09/2021 11:30

Im in too. I tried intermittent fasting but im very sporadic on it

Heathcliff27 · 12/09/2021 11:32

I'm in too. I'm 48, 5ft 4 and 11st 4. Changed jobs earlier in the year and now in an office job with little movement day to day. A stone off would be brilliant, my weights steadily gone up since I had a hysterectomy a few years ago.

My plan is to cut out snacks and move more. Maybe get out walking in the evenings.

MrsSoft · 12/09/2021 11:33

I am really pleased that you are all joining me.

Ideally I need to lose a good two stones but would be happy with one stone by Christmas. I am not very tall, 5'4 and I carry the majority of my weight on my stomach and back side. My face is looking chubby now too.

OP posts:
Heathcliff27 · 12/09/2021 11:35

I'm typical pear shape so have chunky legs and thighs, would just love them to be more toned so I know its exercise I need which is the problem..... I hate any form of exercise Sad

MrsSoft · 12/09/2021 12:11

Heathcliff27 i hate exercise too. I have made myself chief dog walker as from today. I am quite confident that I will do this.

I have just cut the grass, I'm hot and bothered now. So that's twice this morning I find myself in a hot sweaty mess.

Good luck everyone that's joining me.

I am having sundays as my weigh in day.

I started on Monday at 18 stone 7. I want 3 stone off by Christmas - that's doable when you start out this fat! 1200 calories a day, meat, fish, loads of veg. Plenty of nice fresh eggs because we have chickens. No processed carbs because I'm diabetic.

I'm hoping to feel confident enough to wear something nice on Christmas Day. I haven't bothered dressing up for it in years, I just haven't seen the point when I'm this size.

I'm going to get my hair cut as a reward as well. It's irritatingly long at the moment but when I get it cut, I find it just highlights how shit my fat face looks. I enjoy haircuts so much more when my face and body are less embarrassing!

It's just one day at a time. We can do it!

MrsSoft · 12/09/2021 12:13

Just noticed Heathcliff27 that we are the same height and pretty much the same weight. I am 50.

OP posts:
trilbydoll · 12/09/2021 12:16

I'm in, I've lost a stone since last summer and now I'm stuck. I eat porridge for breakfast and veg soup for lunch and what I would consider a normal dinner - I think I need to count the calories for dinner a bit more closely. Also cut out the 2 chocolate bars every day Grin

I also weigh myself every day. I can handle weight going up and down daily, there is no way I could handle a rogue 1lb gain after a whole week of no chocolate!
