Just over 14 weeks until Christmas, lose a stone with me.

I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

Sounds like we are all struggling with weekends!
Think it’s “worse” now we can socialise freely and eat out easily etc - last winter I was losing easily because the weekends were as crap and mundane as the week days.
Was determined to break the cycle this weekend and be good and DH has literally just walked in and suggested we go out for a curry tomorrow night…..
@BasicMadeira I hope you have a lovely time celebrating DH birthday
@Mum5net how are you managing to get so many steps in? What’s the secret?!

Mum5net · 11/03/2022 10:49

I think I am so delighted to be in company socially that I make up for lost time. At the weekends I tend to let someone else walk the dog - DH - or we give her a ‘rest’.
I walk from 0730/0900 ish and usually get 10k steps then start my work. I wfh so if I’m on a call with a sales guy I just pace my house for 20 mins while talking so I get intermittent bursts. I also have to keep the dog from barking so might nip round the block for 15. Then when DC FaceTime when they are walking home uni or wherever, I March round house again. It’s v dull. But rule of thumb is that it takes about an hour to get 8k steps. For a whole 18 months I targeted 24k steps a day but this past year I just did 13k and now my knee is better, I’m trying to push back to 16-18k. But the mud in the park makes a huge difference.
Birthday weekends mean restrictions can be waived. @BasicMadeira 😏 And a curry is such a joy 🤩 @Hartleyhare1206
I think I might make a start on more declutter ing. It means lots of walking with cardboard boxes and ladder climbing. And trips to the car. Have a great weekend

BasicMadeira · 16/03/2022 09:22

@Mum5net that is serious commitment to walking. I had a lovely weekend and probably did about 100 steps a day; bed- spa- bar- bed and repeat!
Long weekend here and my aim was to lose a few lbs before this weekend but I am 177 so not up and not down. No major plans this weekend so will walk and walk some more.
How are you both faring @Mum5net @Hartleyhare1206 ?

Mum5net · 16/03/2022 10:45

Sounds like a win @BasicMadeira if you had fun and no gains. Bed spa bar bed ideal. Lovely just to escape the usual.
I've made a gain, Covid, yesterday. DH was in Italy skiing last week and tested positive once we got him home. Must have ben that journey back from airport with his skis in my VW up! Feel ok but not doing v much.
How are you @Hartleyhare1206?

Hartleyhare1206 · 16/03/2022 11:55

Hey!

@BasicMadeira your break sounds amazing! I’m not at all jealous 😳😄

@Mum5net oh you poor thing I’m so sorry to hear that 😢 I hope you’re ok and it remains mild.

Similar situation here as DD has covid! Didn’t get to go for the curry which was a bonus as it kept me on the straight and narrow and broken my binge the way through the weekend mentality. Stuck in isolating with her as she is only 5 so I literally can’t go anywhere. Which is good as it means I can’t buy any crap to eat, but bad as I’m not getting many steps in and my lovely friend keeps dropping off treats on the doorstep like Lindt choc bunnies for me and DD to cheer us up, and I’m having to do my utmost to ignore them and not stuff myself face!!

Mum5net · 17/03/2022 14:47

Poor DD @Hartleyhare1206
My Covid update is I’ve gone off the taste of chocolate and the fatty rolls made with butter I like for breakfast
61.1 kg and 3180 steps
Game changer 😉🤣

Mum5net · 30/03/2022 23:07

Hey chums. How are you? @BasicMadeira @Hartleyhare1206. Hope your DD much better @Hartleyhare1206.
Covid gone here. Took ten days, got out last Friday. Still a bit tired this week.
Was wondering if either of you wants to try to press reset and we start over again on the 1st of the month.😎 Putting on weight here.

Hartleyhare1206 · 31/03/2022 09:10

@Mum5net glad you’re feeling better. DD better but not before wiping me out for good measure, feel crap. Don’t like it!! Dog has been poorly too - hurt leg. Not happy HartleyHares in this house! To exhausted to give a crap about steps and eating all the wrong stuff. Probably not helping my recovery TBF. Love the idea of a reset - I’m in!! It’ll
Do me good to get back to eating “proper” food even if I can’t match it with exercise.
Shall we start a new thread do you think? New thread could equal a fresh start and more accountability? Otherwise it looks
Like we are aiming to lose a stone by Xmas 2022 - mind you the way I’m going that’s probably not going to happen 🤦‍♀️
How are you doing @BasicMadeira?

Mum5net · 31/03/2022 10:14

Yes, a new thread is what we need and maybe get some extra people to spur us into action. We’re a slow burn that’s slowed to a standstill. Do you want to set it up? Or I can do later if you a bit swamped?

Leg ops x2, the UC, toothache for a couple of months and now Covid - all just a bit dispiriting. Need to get passionate about putting in some effort.
Snow and -3 which didn’t help this morns.

Hartleyhare1206 · 31/03/2022 10:28

@Mum5net I feel exactly the same as you. I’ve shifted all my Xmas weight but I’m in serious danger of not even maintaining that and/or regaining. Feel shit and poorly but need to get a grip. We can do this! Some new blood to challenge us is a great idea. I’ll set it up and tag you in it?

BasicMadeira · 31/03/2022 10:40

Blush I have been avoiding you all. I am just about holding steady but like @Hartleyhare1206 am in danger of moving up. @Mum5net let me have a think if I am going to commit or just faff about.

Mum5net · 21/04/2022 20:44

@BasicMadeira and @Hartleyhare1206
come back. I need you. 64 kg and struggling.

Hartleyhare1206 · 22/04/2022 13:43

Me too 😩😩😩
