Just over 14 weeks until Christmas, lose a stone with me.

I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

@Magdelana that sounds so upsetting and stressful, I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. Please don't worry about responding directly to people - but if you do want to do it all you have to do is type @ and then the username of the person you are responding to. On my phone it comes up with a list of posters you can select.
People are very helpful on the relationship board, also teenagers, and possibly the mental health board? Although MN can be known for being a vipers nest, generally if you have a serious problem people are incredibly supportive and helpful.

11st 6lbs today Smile and not really struggling with the amounts in eating. Being less restrained today however as off to the pub for dinner (where I know I will have a glass of wine, and eat pretty much what I want) but I will try not to have a pudding or unnecessary carbs. I also had a crumpet and piece of toast with my new jam this morning as a Saturday treat. I figure if I keep lunch small, perhaps a sandwich and don't snack then I'm still doing much better than I would when I wasn't watching my weight (which whould no doubt involve coffee shops and hot chocolate and cake...)

Mamamia35 · 18/09/2021 11:48

Just checking in. So I was 11.7 on Sunday and today I'm 11.2. Very pleased. Can't quite believe it.

I ate home made soup at lunch all week and upped the veg and fruit. Also went for quite substantial walks 3 times. But also had a kfc and some alcohol (that's why I'm pleasantly surprised!).

See you next weekend.

leavesthataregreen · 18/09/2021 11:52

Yes please! I'm 5'4" and 10.10lbs. I really want to get back inside healthy BMI (about 10.4-5) first and then would love to lose another 8-10lbs on top of that.

MrsSoft · 18/09/2021 12:20

well done @Mamamia35 5lbs is such a good result. Next weekend you will probably be back into the ten stone bracket. Pleased for you. Keep it up.

Hello @leavesthataregreen welcome.

leavesthataregreen · 18/09/2021 13:07

Thank you @MrsSoft

Did a 45 minute workout this morning.

Had Skyr with berries and one teaspoon of honey and 10g of chopped walnuts for breakfast.

Two chicken drumsticks with roast pepper, cucumber, a small(ish) portion of red rice and an apple for lunch. I think I need to start weighing things.

Is anyone using MFP to log food?

Keladrythesaviour · 18/09/2021 13:37

@leavesthataregreen I do - I find it really the only way to keep a good sense of what I'm eating, otherwise portions start to creep up.
I wouldn't say im religious (I do some estimating on weights and have to compromise on some ingredients) but it's good for getting a sense of what calories are in things. Especially butter and oil Blush

PhoenixReincarnated · 18/09/2021 14:25

I use MFP. I weigh most stuff but do estimate others, mainly salad stuff, occasionally other things, although I will weigh them every so often. If I estimate I try to over estimate.

At the moment, I still have 1 1/2st to lose but will probably weigh/measure regularly as I get nearer to my goal.

leavesthataregreen · 18/09/2021 14:43

Thank you both. I logged into MFP today and it does help me stop grazing.

orangejuicer · 18/09/2021 16:15

Hey guys, I've had a good week so far but am so disappointed in myself for having a binge day. I have started to undo the damage but I just needed to put it out there.

You're all doing brilliantly.

PhoenixReincarnated · 18/09/2021 18:31

@orangejuicer in the grand scheme of things it's just one day...a blip. The only way it would become a disaster is if you allowed it to become two days, then three, then gave up. It already sounds as if you've avoided that trap though so, not meaning to sound patronising, well done for getting back to it. Continue as you mean to go on and the weight will start to come off.

orangejuicer · 18/09/2021 19:33

Thank you Phoenix. Not patronising at all, I needed to hear that so thanks.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 18/09/2021 21:25

I'm still here and still aiming to lose that stone before Christmas!! I was trying to fit into some of my pre-DC tops today and my stomach is still depressingly roly-polyish Sad hopefully when I get to my goal weight I'll look less like Humpty Dumpty...

@Lexie365 my new journal has arrived and includes reward stickers!!

Thinking of you @Magdelana, for the incredibly thoughtless comment you received and the very difficult family situation. I hope things get better for you soon Flowers

FflosFfantastig · 18/09/2021 23:10

I'd like to join in. I'm 5ft 4 and 11st 2. I feel so unhealthy at the moment and fed up. I would like to get down to 10st. I tend to carry all my excess weight around my tummy and bum so I am a classic pear shape. Fed up of buying tent like clothes just to hide everything.

My plan is to move more as I work from home so frankly don't do much in the way of exercise. I will aim for 10, 000 steps a day.

Also stop finishing off what my daughter leaves to avoid wasting it. I am terrible for doing this! I plan to completely cut out crisps and fizzy drinks.

MrsSoft · 19/09/2021 09:38

Morning all, it's my weigh day and I have lost 3.25lbs. I'm happy with that. I ate far too much last night but moving on today.

Hello @FflosFfantastig

Keladrythesaviour · 19/09/2021 09:53

Congratulations @MrsSoft that's brilliant!

Meal out last night didn't go quite to plan - ended up having the pudding I said I wouldn't have (brownie and ice cream Blush), a glass of wine (planned) and several brandies. Oh well. Today is a new day. I weighed myself and have gone back up a lb but hopefully that's water retention from the alcohol .. Wink
Back on MFP today and planning to do a long walk with the dog on a NT country estate I've not visited before.

FflosFfantastig · 19/09/2021 10:36

I've started off ok. Just watched my daughter have a lovely looking fried egg on toast whilst I had a bowl of porridge with a tiny bit of honey. I can do this!

Well done @MrsSoft
@Keladrythesaviour today is a new day. There will be slippage occasionally but it's ok

PhoenixReincarnated · 19/09/2021 10:41

@MrsSoft fantastic result! Well done 😊

@Keladrythesaviour hope you enjoyed that brownie and ice-cream. Yes, we need to eat healthily, and at a deficit, to lose weight but we shouldn't forget to live while doing so. Living includes socialising and socialising often includes food. You might take an extra week to achieve your goal weight but that doesn't mean you can't have the occasional treat. That's something we all need to learn for when we achieve our goals. How to have the occasional treat while eating healthily most of the time and not falling off the wagon completely so that we pile it all back on.

Anyway, I'll climb off my soapbox now Wink I've had Porridge (oat so golden syrup) for breakfast. Not sure what I'm having for my other meals yet.

Hartleyhare1206 · 19/09/2021 10:58

Please can I join?

5’ 7” tall and weighed in this morning at 12 stone 10.4lbs. At the start of the pandemic weighed 14.10lbs and it was my kick up the arse to be less lardy to reduce my Covid risk.

Got to 12.6lbs in May but seem to have just regained a few lbs once socialising began again and keep losing and gaining the same few lbs over and over. So a bit of a plateau.

It’s my 40th In January so would love to lose a stone which would put me in my healthy BMI (only just, but better than nothing!) and start a new decade feeling good about myself (tricky with xmas just before though!)

Also; my DH is 40 next month and have a lovely fancy meal out planned. Have gambled buying a new dress I’ve been admiring for a while. It fits ok but would look so much nicer (and I’d feel loads better in it!) if I could shift a few lbs by then.
So that’s my first aim - knuckle down for 4 short weeks and try and move as close to 1/2 stone as I can so I feel fabulous in my frock! Have that weekend as a treat and get back on it till xmas.

Wish me luck 😬😬😬 (and wire my jaw shut too if you can 😂😂😂)

orangejuicer · 19/09/2021 11:08

I'm due to weigh in the morning but it looks decent today, just hoping my wobble hasn't contributed too much.

Happy Sunday all!

Mamamia35 · 19/09/2021 11:26

@MrsSoft well done.

And @Hartleyhare1206 you will be swishing in that dress in no time!

Rainallnight · 19/09/2021 11:37

I’ve lost two pounds! Delighted to be on the way. Really need to keep it up now

Summerunlover · 19/09/2021 12:02

I am 41 and 16st 3!! Since the pandemic I have piled it on. I have an important operation coming up. And need to get healthy for that.

Lockdownbear · 19/09/2021 13:29

My official weight in day is Monday but I think I've gained this week.Sad
As usual fell of the wagon on week two.

What is every doing to actually loose weight? Week 1 I lost using 16:8 fasting but struggled not to eat rubbish this week.

Questioning is weight watchers worth trying. I get really fed up logging everything with MFP.

ZebraPyjamas · 19/09/2021 13:36

I’ll join! Weight has been creeping up the last 6 months and I’ve no idea why so need to figure that out urgently, a stone would be good but 1.5 I’d be more comfortable with
