I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

@Magdelana

Thank you for your lovely comments. She’s 10 years older and started going on about the menopause and weight gain…. She’s tiny!! (Of course). We were at a business dinner .. well should have been dinner but hers was just a liquid meal of pure alcohol!!

I’m over it now!!

Ready to start my weight loss with you lovely ladies!

Maybe she should start with herself before judging others Envy glad you are not continuing on with the friendship as it were. You don't need that negativity.

I haven't been doing the best this week and am away from tomorrow til Sunday but will be back on track from Monday. Everyone is doing so brilliantly it is great motivation Grin

Lexie365 · 15/09/2021 16:54

Weighing in at 11st 8.6lbs today🥰 officially in the healthy weight category for the first time in years, am feeling very proud of myself🥰

Lexie365 · 15/09/2021 17:09

@Magdelana such a horrible thing to say to you. I think all our reactions to feeling bad is to eat crap so well done for starting fresh today🥰

Nuffaluff · 15/09/2021 17:19

Well done @Lexie365 and to everyone else who’s here.

I have gone with my only eating when I’m really hungry idea as food has no enjoyment for me at the moment. I’ve not eaten much, a sandwich, a crumpet, a peach, some sauerkraut, a handful of skittles (I can just taste the sweetness!) but then I haven’t moved much!
I’m going to have some lovely pasta with anchovies and olives, because I can taste salt.
One problem I have is always finishing everything on my plate. I find it hard to stop eating when I’m satisfied. I’m going to only do 3 ounces of pasta for the two of us, because if I make too much I will eat it all. As anyone managed to change this habit?

Lexie365 · 15/09/2021 17:29

@Nuffaluff thanks! And I have the same problem I always feel like I have to or want to finish my plate even if I'm full🤦‍♀️ would love to be able to change the habit and still feel satisfied as when I actually manage to stop when I feel full I always feel like i have left some of my meal behind so am not full satisfied

Keladrythesaviour · 15/09/2021 19:05

I'm exactly the same, except I'll finish other people's plates too. I'm dreadful for it picking at leftovers.

I've had my food for the day but I'm starving today Confused not sure why as I've been okay the last few days. Hopefully a few cups of herbal tea will fill me up...

ProcrastinationIsMySuperPower · 15/09/2021 21:56

I'm terrible for finishing off my kids leftovers!

Treating myself to a tin of pink gin & diet Lemonade. 77 calories, I think. Will weigh myself in the morning, fingers crossed for a loss.

PhoenixReincarnated · 15/09/2021 22:09

I'm another one who was encouraged to finish what was on my plate when growing up. Consequently I have problems not clearing my plate even when I'm full before I've finished. I'm working on that by trying to learn to recognise when I've had enough and actually making myself stop.

Well done to those who have had successful days. To those who are struggling tomorrow is a fresh start Smile

I had weetabix for breakfast and a chicken and mushroom omelette with jacket potato and salad for dinner. I had an apple for a snack. I wasn't hungry at tea time so didn't bother. I have found that my appetite has reduced since having covid.

TwoShoess · 15/09/2021 23:24

Hi all! Can I join please? I’ve definitely put on weight since the start of the first lockdown (working from home, not going out as much etc).

I got a shock when I struggled to do up my dress for my friend’s wedding recently and then a family member also asked if I was getting a bit chubby - it wasn’t meant unkindly but it still stung Blush

TwoShoess · 15/09/2021 23:25

@PhoenixReincarnated I’m the same about finishing off what’s on my plate!

PhoenixReincarnated · 16/09/2021 06:58

Morning @TwoShoess and welcome Smile

Another long day at work for me and I forgot my porridge 😂 I'll have to have Weetabix instead. No idea what I'm having for the rest of the day.

Have a good day everyone and hope we all achieve what we want to today.

MrsSoft · 16/09/2021 07:38

Hello @TwoShoess and good luck.

Well today is day five for me and I can't believe that I have so far managed to stick to the plan.

I don't feel so bloated and it's lovely waking up in the morning and feeling a little more positive about my fatness.

Im having a wardrobe sort out today. I seem to have adopted a fat uniform of jeans and striped tops. Yesterday I wore a blouse as I'm trying to make an effort with my appearance. My grown up son, unprompted, said that I looked nice. It secretly made my day.

Can I join? I'd like to lose a stone by Christmas.

I'm normally 9st, but over lockdown went up to 11st.

Over the last two weeks I cut out normal bread (eat a pita for lunch), no crisps or chocolate. I'm now 10st 11.2lbs.

theworldsbiggestcrocodile · 16/09/2021 09:05

Morning all. I managed a three hour dog walk yesterday. Aching today, but will try and go out again later. Stuck to my 1200 calories too. Starving now but my intermittent fasting window doesn't open til 12...

TwoShoess · 16/09/2021 10:03

Thanks for the welcome Phoenix and Mrs! It’ll be so helpful and motivating to be part of this thread :)

Keladrythesaviour · 16/09/2021 10:22

@MrsSoft ahh teenagers aren't all bad Grin
A wardrobe clear out is a great idea. I have to admit the main reason Ive decided once and for all to try and sort my weight gain is that I realised I was wearing my 'dog walling' clothes more and more around the house "as they were more comfy" - IE everything else is too small!

No loss for me today, which I expected (already lost my 4lbs for the first week). I'll admit to beong slightly disappointed becaus ei love seeing it go down but the realistic part of me knows it isn't sustainable or healthy to lose a lb a day!! So long as I lose another lb next week I know I'll be on track as per previous attempts.

SaltySheepdog · 16/09/2021 18:18

I need this motivation!

I was 11 stone 5 start of September.

Weighed 11 stone this morning

I’ve been snacking less late at night, walking to work, exercising with friends, moving more at work. Presently averaging 10-20k steps daily, up from 3k daily

My love handles are feeling noticeably smaller Grin Still there, but in fairness, it hasn't even been two weeks.

I feel so much better. I'm less bloated and sluggish, my clothes are hanging (very slightly) differently, I'm standing up straighter. If this is what it's like at this stage, I'm hugely excited to see what a normal weight feels like!

I'm actually really looking forward to weighing in on Monday.

PhoenixReincarnated · 17/09/2021 10:31

@Magdelana hope you get everything sorted. Come back to us when you're ready.

@UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername it's a good feeling isn't it? Smile This is my fourth week and just before I started I put on a pair of leggings and a long t-shirt. I looked pregnant so they came straight back off again. I put them back on again last week and they looked much better. My stomach feels (and looks) considerably less bloated.

@Magdelana don't worry about replying to people (especially individually). I'm sure you haven't made a mess of things. I don't know about your situation but there are a lot of wise people on this site who will be able to help/advise you. Maybe a thread in relationships about your specific situation would be useful.

MrsSoft · 18/09/2021 08:48

@Magdelana I am sorry that you are going through this. As PhoenixReincarnated said you will get good advice on here, you may feel that you could start a thread in relationships.

Equally, post on this thread if it helps, we are here for you. 🌺
