About me:

I'm 32yrs old, trying to conceive since March 2020 (one MC in this time). Have an ovulation disorder (very irregular cycles).

5ft 8" and 85.6kg (BMI 29). Aiming to get into the healthy weight range in the hope it improves ovualtion. Also nervous about becoming obese and this hindering access to fertility treatment if I need it!

@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you for setting this up!

Little bit about me - I'm 33, have been trying to conceive since November 2020. Have just been diagnosed with PCOS.

I'm 5ft 11 and currently weighing 84kgs. Am trying to shift at least 6kgs. I'm hoping to start exercising more and just moving more in general. WFH and lockdown have not been kind to me!!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 02/08/2021 20:02

Hello @MissC07, nice to see you from the other thread! You are tall!

So far, I've been a run tonight. Hot here so felt hard!

Hi! I'm 30 and currently in the obese bmi range :( I've been meaning to loose weight anyway but as I'm now 5 months in ttc (I know not that long really) I just want to loose weight to ensure this isn't the reason why I'm not conceiving. Also if it gets to a year and I have to go to the doctors then I know that's the first thing they'll say!

Moocher90 · 02/08/2021 20:28

I’m 30 nearly 31 and been trying to conceive since Aug 2020. I have hypothyroidism and hashimotos. Got married in 2019 and was a good weight but since coming off contraception I have put on loads of weight. I don’t think I eat loads and I eat my 5 a day. I am gluten free because of my hashimotos but I can’t seem to shift any weight. I haven’t weighed myself in a while but my guess is that I am in the overweight borderline obese category.

Moocher90 · 02/08/2021 20:30

Ohh I forgot to mention I don’t ovulate every month either and my cycles vary from 28-34 days. My last confirmed ovulation was in March and am currently in my tww.

Kay00 · 02/08/2021 20:59

Hi ladies! Thanks for setting this up @thedaydreambelievers 😊

I'm 36 years, 5 ft 6 and weight 10 stone. I'm not overweight (bmi 22.4) but found out I have PCOS recently and so I'm embarking on a new life with less sugar and carbs... and I'm going to try and throw in a little exercise too 😇

Kay00 · 02/08/2021 21:01

Ref ovulation my cycles were all over the place before I started the Conceive Plus Ovulation Support supplements; since then they have been more regular. But... there is still a big question over whether I have been ovulating at all this past 14 months as my AMH levels are ridiculously high 🙄

ChinChilly · 03/08/2021 08:54

@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you for the thread!!

I'm 29 (just about) ttc since June 2019, a few loses in that time. Current weight 68-69kg need to get down to about 60kg as Currently in the overweight category according to BMI. My cycles are regular 29-30 days, still awaiting my first AF post MC.

Juno231 · 03/08/2021 09:26

@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you for this!

I'm 33, been properly TTC since Jan 2020 with not a whiff of a BFP this whole time. Unexplained infertility means we're heading for IVF end of this year I imagine.

I'm 5ft 7 and last Monday (26th) I weighed in at 75.5kg and a BMI of 26.1. In an ideal world I'd probably weigh 58-60kg (which I used to!) but these days I'd be grateful to hit 68kg so I'm just looking to get as fit and healthy as I can before I start fertility treatments.

First mini goal is achieving a healthy BMI and dropping out of the overweight category - so I need to reach 72.1kg for this!

To summarise:
SW: 75.5kg
CW: 73.7kg
Mini-goal #1: 72.1kg

Juno231 · 03/08/2021 09:42

Goals for today:

  • 10k steps minimum (this is tough atm as I'm wfh)
  • Drinking 3 litres of water
  • Only healthy snacking - I've got celery sticks and apples at the ready
TheDaydreamBelievers · 03/08/2021 09:59

Same @Juno231! Wfh kills the walking

OP posts:
Juno231 · 03/08/2021 10:03

@TheDaydreamBelievers It used to be easier but I'm so bored of the local walks now! Yday it took a half hour walk at lunch and a 40 min walk after work to try and get my steps in but I don't think I'll fit that into my day today. My neighbours are celebrating 20 years together today and have asked us to pop over for a celebratory drink at 5.30pm so that's prime walking time...

Kay00 · 03/08/2021 10:09

I weighed myself this morning... I'm 9st 13... so I have lost 1lb Grin haha. A bit rubbish (considering I walked 102k last weekend) but I suppose I have only just started to curb my sugar habit, and on the walk I consumed a lot of calories (I had to)!

My sister is visiting with her OH, daughter and 2 x step kids today so I'm cooking pizza, garlic bread and chicken strip things for lunch... the temptation is real!

Goals for today:

Try to avoid pizza for lunch
Take the dogs for a longish (45 min) walk before I get my 2nd covid vaccine

Juno231 · 03/08/2021 10:18

@kay00 ha I imagine you'll have had plenty of water retention after those 102k steps. Rooting for you not to eat pizza at lunch today!

Dinner tonight is cheese and caramelised onion pork steaks, garlicky greens and wedges. Sounds naughty but if I stick to the recipe it's 473kcal so not too bad :) Of course this could all be thrown out the window if OH decides he'd rather I make one of the other 2 dinners planned for this week so far (prawn pasta or tacos). Either way I'm planning on sticking to a light lunch to compensate for the wine/champagne I suspect I'll be having at 5.30pm!

Kay00 · 03/08/2021 10:43

@Juno231 I think you should allow yourself a glass (or two) of bubbly Grin I also think its really nice that you are celebrating our neighbours anniversary with them. I am lucky enough to live on a small, old street near the centre of Exeter and all the neighbours are really close, we even have an annual street party! But it is a bit like gossip central Grin Wine

I need to try and drink more water too... I think I have more likely been dehydrated for the past week haha!

MissC07 · 03/08/2021 17:40

@Juno231 your dinner sounds lush!!! My dinner is chicken thighs and broccoli 😂

Since starting my new job yesterday I've drunk more water in the last 2 days than I have done in the last 18months!!

ChinChilly · 03/08/2021 18:01

@Juno231 dinner sounds delish! We're having a nandos fakeaway!

Not going to make it to the gym until towards the end of the week so just trying to do as many steppies as i can on 15,000 so far today

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 03/08/2021 19:33

Hi from the ttc thread.

I'm almost 30, been ttc for 4 months now.
163cm and 78kg which puts my bmi at 29.3. I want to get to a healthy weight, so 66kg at most really.
I'm due to go on holiday I'm 5 weeks so want to lose as much as possible before then (so I can fit in my pre lockdown clothes!).

SteakChips · 03/08/2021 19:53

@TheDaydreamBelievers don't beat your self up I was told I was overweight at the age of 34, I'm 5,7 and weight then 13stones. I had been TTC since that age nothing worked. However after 2 and half years going through a fertility clinic I was told my best chance is ivf and to loose weight. 1st lockdown happened and I lost 2stones and IVF was push back. I managed to get down to 11stone.. but I started to question dose weight effect TTC?? My brother GF is obese and fell pregnant twice naturally. My neighbour she is as well and doesn't have a balance diet and has two. So does really effect it!!! Both myself and my husband had nothing medically wrong with us to conceive it was just one of those things.

Kay00 · 03/08/2021 20:47

@steakchips haha, I often question that too
.. but many studies have shown weight makes a difference.

Ladies... I have not had a good food day 😣
I had:

  • Greek yogurt, nuts and raspberries (good)
  • 2 x chicken things (ok)
  • 2 x cheap oven pizza slices (no crust) (naughty)
  • 2 x digestive biscuits (at vaccination centre) (naught)
  • chicken, avocado and bacon salad (good)
  • ice cream & cream sundae 🙈🙈🙈 (v. Naughty but I gave all the brownie pieces to my OH)

So lots of things weren't low GI and so might react with the Metformin... and unfortunately something has 😭😭 I'm sat here with a huge bloated and painful belly 😫

I need to be better tomorrow 😪

MissC07 · 03/08/2021 20:53

@Kay00 don't beat yourself up! There are only a few treats in there, It's all about balance! Sorry for the painful belly though - hot water bottle and peppermint tea are my go to saviours!

Today I've had;
• Porridge with blueberries (almond milk)
• One finger of a choc orange twirl 🙈
• One Lotus biscoff biscuit 🙈
• Handful of nacho crisps 🙈
• One grilled chicken thigh and salad

My aim tomorrow is to try and have no choc or crisps!! Small steps 🦶

Kat668 · 03/08/2021 21:24

You're all doing amazing!

I've started up the couch to 5k absolutely hate running but going to try and keep up with it. I got to week 4 before when I did it.
I'm also doing pilates with my mum once a week and trying to play tennis with my brother at least once if not more a week.

Food wise, I'm a really fussy eater and have always struggled to diet (plus I hate cooking so quite often end up shoving something in the oven that's easy but not good for me!) So I'm trying to focus more on portion control and calorie counting. I've downloaded my fitness pal which I used when I was at uni and lost 2 stone with.

Kay00 · 03/08/2021 22:04

@missc07 you have eaten hardly anything today! You must have been starving 😝 I forgot to say I also ate pinapple and an apple as snacks 😆

@kat668 I'm impressed with your exercise regime!! I haven't done much in the way I'd exercise today (just a 45 min dog walk) but I'm going running with my friend on Friday 😇

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/08/2021 00:07

I did 10k steps! I've eaten:

Grapes
Latte x 2
Two slices brown toast with cottage cheese and spinach, one roasted chicken leg
2 flat peaches
Wraps with veggie burger, halloumi, salad in them
