Thank you @TheDaydreamBelievers 😊

@Juno231 @thislittlebird you have a gym in your workplace? That's ace.
We have a yoga class that the CEO takes at our place at 7am once a week, office is city centre and can never make it as nursery doesn't open until 7:30 but saying that apparently the CEO (male) wears Lycra to these sessions so not sure I'd want to 😳

Good on the steps and workouts everyone 💪🏼 we're going away tomorrow and have a big family bbq so tomorrow is probably a write off for calories consumed 🙈

ChinChilly · 06/08/2021 18:35

@Juno231 I'm wondering if I can to my local M&S before it closes at 8pm 🤔🤣 they are genuinely delicious 🤤

MissC07 · 06/08/2021 20:11

Happy Friday ladies!!

Went into the office for the first time today. My new place do free breakfast and lunch! I swerved the bacon, but had a croissant instead 🙈 Then for lunch they have the most insane salad bar so I topped up on that!! Thanks to commuting I've done 10,000 steps today which is way better than my usual 200 a day WFH 🤣

I'm going to try and not drink this weekend. We'll see how that goes!!

Kay00 · 06/08/2021 22:16

Mmm those strawberries sound so good!! 😋

My friend cancelled our run... so I did a food shop instead 😆 I am currently baking a REALLY naughty cake (pic attached from the recipe im following... it probably won't look this good) for my brother in law's birthday tomorrow. I will use all my willpower to not eat a slice tomorrow... but I did try a spoon of the mixture before it went in the oven 🤤🤤🤤

I realise that post isn't helping any of our diets... and I sorry!!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 06/08/2021 22:30

Today was not a good food day. I have eaten a slice of cake, a banana and a dominos. In that order.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 06/08/2021 23:08

Well... the banana was good 😉

Juno231 · 07/08/2021 07:45

@TheDaydreamBelievers reading your food in that order with the banana in there made me laugh out loud 😁. Today is a new day with less domino's in it!

I can barely walk today after my beasting at the gym yday. Scales are still pointing downwards (72.9kg today - down 2.6kg since Monday 26th) even though I had a BIG taco dinner with plenty of wine last night.

I have no food plans today though which is always a bit dangerous... Need to have a think about what to cook for dinner.

thislittlebird · 07/08/2021 11:05

@MissC07 oh god, free food would be a nightmare for me. I used to work at a place with heavily subsidised food and that was bad enough.

I'm back down to my pre-migraine weight, which is good, if a little odd. I had yogurt, oats and raspberries again for breakfast (and probably tomorrow, because the raspberries won't last forever) and a nectarine. The weather is awful and I want to sit on the sofa with the olympics and biscuits but I am going to go and make a veggie thai red curry for dinner. Also have vegetable tempura fritters to go with it that I bought from M&S, need to check the calories in those.

I do need to do some sort of exercise today but I won't lie, the weather isn't inspiring me to move at all.

Kat668 · 07/08/2021 11:19

@MissC07 free food? That's amazing they do that! But yeah also very dangerous 😂

@TheDaydreamBelievers you're allowed a cheat day every now and then! Don't feel too bad :)

I've been doing some intense gardening the last three days, lots of digging and heavy lifting so hopefully that helps! Also went for my second couch to 5k run in the morning yesterday, and a long uphill walk in the afternoon. It was completely knackering 😅 but food wise wasn't too good, we went for a full cooked English for brunch... but I barely ate anything else all day as that really filled me up so hopefully it hasn't affected me too badly.

Kay00 · 07/08/2021 20:58

@thislittlebird mmm... Thai Red curry sounds delicious 😋 I had an odd food day... and not a very low carb one 🧐 but no bloating, so maybe I balanced it out with enough protein?

  • 2 x poached eggs
  • 1 x thin slice home baked sourdough with butter
  • 1 x wafer thin slice of the cake I baked (it was delicious 😋)
  • Salad with 2 x oat cakes, cheese and cold meats and another 1/2 slice of bread 🙈

I'm planning a little pinapple for supper (and for implantation 🤞🤞🤞)

Juno231 · 08/08/2021 09:24

@kay00 that all sounds delicious 😋 and well done for sticking to a sliver!

Yesterday wasn't very good for me - I'm sort of annoyed with myself as I know in the past one way I'd fall off the wagon is by every week undoing my progress at the weekend and then feeling very frustrated with it all when Monday weigh ins were terrible.

So I had a 500 cal lunch, an apple, a small cheese and gherkin snack. So far so good. But then I made Swedish chocolate balls to thank the neighbours for the tapas night and ended up eating 4 of them myself lol.

OH then requested steak, chips and bearnaise sauce for dinner... Now I went for a chicken breast instead of steak and skipped the sauce but still felt enormous after dinner. Ha and I nearly forgot the bottle of wine I must have had throughout the day??

Definitely not going on the scales today but promise I am back on it! No vino and dinner is a healthy roast chicken and crushed potatoes with veg on the side.

Juno231 · 08/08/2021 09:26

I forgot to say - it rained so so hard yesterday that we had waves in the streets lol so I only scraped together 8k steps. Didn't do any exercise either as I can barely walk from the gym beasting on Friday...

thislittlebird · 08/08/2021 09:44

@Kay00 I got too confident making the curry and put too much chilli in. DH was not amused. It was too much, but I got through it and he did not. Lesson learned to pay more attention when I’m cooking!

I had a weird day yesterday. Certainly didn’t manage 8k steps like @Juno231! I sat around a lot but my Fitbit still tells me I did 3k which is a surprise because I didn’t go out lol.

I must go out today but I am so uninspired by wet weather. I can’t explain it but as soon as the sun comes out I’m up for running or walking. But rain makes me want to curl up indoors. Will definitely work out today and try to snack less, because I started doing that last night too.

ChinChilly · 08/08/2021 09:57

@Juno231 I tend to do that on the weekend undo all th3 good. Yesterday I managed a gym workout and 15.6k steps. Also went out for something to eat, ended up at nandos I had butterfly chicken, chips and tenderstem brocoli so wasn't to bad. Went to an over 18s bowling alley, hilarious but omg I felt old everyone in there was about 20 🤣

@thislittlebird I regularly make things too spicy!

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 08/08/2021 12:13

I always snack late.
I do really good all day, then when it gets to about 8pm I reach for the crisps and chocolate.

We are hopefully going away in a few weeks now (looking promising based on the most recent travel guidance) so I really need to pull my finger out!!
I tried on a lot of my clothes earlier and most things fit but a couple of kilos would make them feel so much better. And give me room to eat lots on holiday without nothing fitting by the end haha!

thislittlebird · 08/08/2021 16:59

Yes, I’m the same with the snacks @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow

Today I’ve been ok so far. Did the walking and running attached so I’ve done something exercise wise and I’ve not had too many calories so far, just yogurt, oats and raspberries for breakfast, a pastry (at least it wasn’t big!) and fruit for lunch, and Scampi, chips and salad for dinner to come.

thislittlebird · 08/08/2021 17:03

Oh, I did have one snack a jack and one digestive biscuit but they aren’t too bad.

MissC07 · 08/08/2021 19:50

I've just had roast beef with, cauliflower cheese, carrots and about 50 roast potatoes 🙈 Think I need to have a word with myself!!

Holiday in 22 days and at the moment I'm not in any sort of shape to but a bikini on!

Does anybody have any goals for this week? I think I might weigh myself tomorrow morning and then again on Sunday morning to see any difference!

Kay00 · 08/08/2021 20:36

@missC07 mmmm... roast potatoes are boss! 😋

@juno231 those chocolate balls sound like a lovely gesture! I'm sure eating x4 wasn't too bad 😉

@thislittlebird @ChinChilly Well done with the exercise 👏

I have only been on 2 x 45 min dog walks today, so probably not a huge amount of steps but I have been painting woodwork in our hallway all day, so I've been quite productive.

Food log:

  • porridge with blueberries and nuts for breakfast
  • cheese and pinapple to snack
  • lamb tagine with chickpeas, apricots and quinoa on the side for tea

I will no doubt have some dark chocolate with a cuppa before the night is out 🥰

ChinChilly · 09/08/2021 07:29

@Kay00 I normally get about 5000 steps from a 40min dog walk and that's with all the stopping and sniffing.

I did quite well with my meals yesterday until the sunday night snack attack hit 🤣 big old slab of homemade chocolate cornflake cake thingys (not normally my thint, OHs request) and two biscuits, did end the day on 20k steps though and that was without the gym so not beating myself up too much

bez91 · 09/08/2021 08:25

Checking in, tiny bit of a gain this week but quite pleased as had a party and drank for the first time in a long time.

@Juno231 what lovely neighbours you are/have. Chocolate balls sound amazing!

@MissC07 goals for the week, try and make it to the gym 3 times I think

How often do people weigh? I usually just do once a week on a Sunday.

orangejuicer · 09/08/2021 08:47

Starting off slowly so trying to eat more veg, less chocolate and exercise for 30 mins every day. I weigh on Saturdays usually.

ChinChilly · 09/08/2021 09:07

@bez91 I tend to not weigh anymore because apparently my scales hate me and no matter what I do they never move 🤣

Juno231 · 09/08/2021 09:36

@bez91 I weigh daily usually. If I didn't I think I'd shoot myself thinking the scales had gone up when actually it's water weight. Eg on Friday I was 72.9kg and today 74.4kg. I know for a fact I haven't actually gained 1.5kg but imagine if I only weighed myself once a week! Then I'd think have gained 0.7kg since last Monday's weigh in.

I'm making this for dinner tonight if anyone needs inspo: www.hairybikers.com/recipes/view/all-in-one-spicy-pork-and-rice

Right so as mentioned above I'm really bloated from the weekend. Lots of water on the menu today and I want to do an at home exercise class today as well. Am wfh so will make an effort to get to those 10k steps.
