Hi

I need to stop snacking and eating crap! So I'm drawing a line and starting fresh from Monday. I'm planning to eat healthily / low carb and am trialling Beachbody On Demand .... hoping this one will hook me as the workouts are different each day rather than the same for a week. Anyone want to join me and hold me accountable?

I still have about 3 stones to loose and would like to be out of my 16s and squeezing into a 12 by the time I go on holiday in mid July. First goal is to loose 2lbs which should put me in overweight rather than obese. Then I'd like to get to 11 something.... currently 12.9.3.

My problem is I lack motivation, am tired and lazy really..... I need to make a new habit tho.

I am not sure if a 14 stone lazy unmotivated swine was what you were hoping for but I'm here !

I have tried more times than I care to mention but I'm officially fed up .

I want to eat more veggies
Drink less alcohol
Do couch to 5k ( again)

Just generally be more motivated and less of a lazy slob.

Will I do ? Grin

Purplechanges · 13/04/2019 21:10

13+ stone of nil motivation here. So fed up with myself it's untrue. I have a big number birthday coming up soon and joined WW this time last year in order to be at goal by said birthday. I have lost precisely 0lbs.

I am now in pain daily too as have joint issues which aren't coping with the excess weight anymore. My job is very physical and now totally wipes me out for the rest of the day, so much so the afternoon school run is becoming and issue.

I need to start and do something! I really can't carry on like this so if you will have me, I will join you!

Aim is to get to 10stone and see how I feel there. So just over 3 stone to go. I also want to work on general fitness though a bit limited due to the joint problem so need to do some homework on what I can do exercise wise. DH has just sold my old bike (heavy awful thing with baby seat on the back) and replaced it with a much lighter road bike so cycling may be a good start.

Think I want to follow the WW plan as it does work (I have tested their methods well over the years) and mix it in with reducing crappy carbs/sugar and throwing a bit of 5:2 in for good luck!

swimmingdory · 14/04/2019 00:39

Excellent. You ladies are just what I need and I will be just what you need. I am totally up for giving c25k a go

Tonight I am a little high on gin but looking forward to starting with you both on Monday. Don't let me down Wink

Good morning dory
i hope the head is not too painful.
The first step on this road of fabulousness is

Do not spend today eating all of the shore in the house !!

Just because tomorrow is d.day doesn't mean you have to make yourself as fat as possible before you start.

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/04/2019 07:18

My second rule is to proofread!

Shore = shite

Bexie181088 · 14/04/2019 07:23

Haha I've never thought of that (you don't need to make yourself as fat as possible before d-day). Very good advice. I also need to start losing weight again come Monday so I'll be watching out with you all too CakeWine

amroc18 · 14/04/2019 07:32

Hi please can I join you as also back on the wagon tomorrow? Have about 4st to lose but need to lose about 1 in the next 2 months as currently can’t get in bridesmaid dress for best friends wedding!

I’m going to do an eat less carbs, less crap and exercise more!

mrsgandy · 14/04/2019 07:49

Hi I'm going to join too. Mainly as I need the daily exercise. After years of dieting I don't diet anymore as it makes me miserable but I need to reduce the sugar and carbs for health and I know my gp wont be happy with me in a couple of months time . I'm high in the 14st range . My aim is 30 mins exercise everyday, cut out the crap too but I want my normal meals if that makes sense.
Yesterday my crap consisted of
Walkers max crisps
Creme egg
8 cream crackers and butter last night .

Hangs head in shame lol lol .

Purplechanges · 14/04/2019 09:55

I am not waiting til tomorrow, jumping straight in today. Just a coffee with skimmed milk right now as I don't do breakfast!

Purplechanges · 14/04/2019 09:56

I will weigh in when I go up to get dressed too Sad

mrsgandy · 14/04/2019 10:31

Me too purple . Also I forgot to mention my gums and teeth need a serous full time break from sugar .

Purplechanges · 14/04/2019 11:10

13 stone 5.5lb so 3 stone 5.5lb to go!

daisyhead08 · 14/04/2019 11:54

Can I join you too please? I thought I had about 4 stone to lose, it turns out after today's horrified check on a scales that it is in fact closer to 6. I feel like crying. I have three major family events over the next 8 weeks and then a holiday in July. I know I can't expect miracles, but a loss would be great.

mrsgandy · 14/04/2019 14:11

Oh daisy that's great you have faced the music . A simple change can probably have great results. Eg fizzy drinks or crisps etc . What's your major downfall.

Purple well done on weighing .
I have a homemade bolagnese made for later ( not a jar of sauce in sight ) and going to have a toastie for lunch I think as I am starving . Not eaten since breakfast. I don't know when I was last feeling really hungry lol

Pinkvici22 · 14/04/2019 17:41

I’m in 🙋🏻‍♀️

Currently 10st 9lbs at 5’4. Started in January at 11st 7lbs...so very slow loss do far.

I’m trying to stop snacking and stealing the kids mini eggs...it’s so hard! I’ve pretty much given up alcohol, dairy and caffeine, and cutting down carbs.

Pinkvici22 · 14/04/2019 17:43

Oh should’ve said my aim is around 9st 7lbs so 16lbs to go, and I’m going away at the end of June so would love to achieve it by then.

swimmingdory · 14/04/2019 18:37

Glad to see lots of new people joining us 👋🏻

Daisy take that feeling now and use it to push you forwards. I need to do that it's so easy to lose sight of why we're doing it. I'm thinking I might sick some really awful pics of me on all the places where the snacks are, see if that will discourage me. Maybe in front of the treadmill too!

So tomorrow we begin.... What's everyone's plan? I think mine will be get up early to exercise (c25k day 1 and 21df day 1 if I can) then protein shake for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and dinner will be sausage egg and chips, slimming world style.

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/04/2019 21:26

I thought I had answered!

So my plan is
Couch to 5k wk1 31st
Banana and one slice of toast
Soup and ryvita
Nasi goreng with prawns
Strictly one snack

My meals are.normally healthy it is the snacks that kill me.

I am off on Easter hols so I am also going a load of housework tomorrow which I am.hoping will help keep me on track.

I need hobby suggestions to keep from eating when I am not working.

mrsgandy · 14/04/2019 21:50

How long the key to not snacking ( and I am going to re implement this as I was doing well before ) is to drop the trigger that's making you snack . So is it watching tv and cup of tea ? Drop the tea and better still drop the tv and call a friend or do a crossword ( words with friends game is good ) .
Is it after lunch ? I would be desperate for tea and biscuits around 4 pm . Take out the ironing board or clean the bathroom. It's all about habits .
Writing this is annoying me as I had been doing all this and really was living life and I stopped after a month of sticking to it . Happy to be back thinking about it now .

Ps chop some nice carrots and pop in fridge . They are really nice sweet carrots in Tesco now

Pinkvici22 · 14/04/2019 22:38

I wish I knew what my snack trigger was!! I am an emotional eater so at times it’s a stress reflex but how do I stop that?!

swimmingdory · 15/04/2019 07:18

I'm also terrible for snacking. Like @Howlongtillbedtime though it's emotional eating... my weight and sweet tooth came when I quit smoking 14 years ago!

So, I set my alarm and got up super early and am now rocking a super shade of red. I did c25k w1r1 and the day one of 21 day fix. The run was fine, it's the breathing that kills me but I have figured out that it's 12.5 weeks till my holiday so I'm hoping to have completed the program for then and be able to run 5k. 21 day fix was tough but definitely gave me a workout. The cross country skiers and frog legs ab things were really tough. I used the lightest weight I have which was a bit too easy as all the hurt was in the physical moving rather than the strength bit so I'll try and do the middle weights with tomorrow's workout and see how that goes.

Shower now and then off to make myself a nice tuna salad for my lunch at work. Look forward to hearing how you all got on.

Progress not perfection.... today's thought.

Great start to the week Dory

I’m just having a herbal tea having had about 3 hours sleep with a sick child...and have a long day of work ahead.

Butternutsqoosh · 15/04/2019 07:47

I'd love to but there's still a week of the holidays to do so I'm not starting until they're back to school!

mrsgandy · 15/04/2019 08:09

I'm an emotional eater too very much so . But the habit changing mechanism works for that too with practice . I had a huge loss in my life in the last year and I ate and ate . But it makes me feel worse.

Good start dory . I have had raspberry, Greek yogurt ( the low sugar high protein one ) and the Kellogg's granola also low sugar for breakfast. Still too much sugar but that's my favourite breakfast really. Can't face eggs or porridge. Rest of day though happy eat salads and tuna and all else

Purplechanges · 15/04/2019 10:07

Aw I am so jealous of all you doing C25K. I was advised not to attempt running whilst overweight by physio. I am struggling with my knees and hips more than ever and can barely get myself upstairs at the moment.

Going to have to think carefully about my exercise goals. As I said I have a new bike, I also have a weighted hula hoop, a set of stretch bands and various weights. I was told to build muscle as it will support my failing joints and I have NO core strength at all so maybe this is where my focus should go.

I am pretty active during term time (work in a support role at my kids school) so I am back and forth there 3 times a day racking up between 7-10k steps a day. But now on Easter holidays for two weeks which has put a dampener on that.

I am focussing on a major declutter for Easter with the kids. The house is affecting my mood, there's just too much stuff. So we are getting ready to do a car boot when the local season starts. Kids can get some money and I can see the floor again Blush also a big emotional eater so hoping the decluttering distracts me in many ways.

My plans to start yesterday went a bit wrong too so I am with you all today. Gonna try my best for a fast day (500 cal).
