Hi

I need to stop snacking and eating crap! So I'm drawing a line and starting fresh from Monday. I'm planning to eat healthily / low carb and am trialling Beachbody On Demand .... hoping this one will hook me as the workouts are different each day rather than the same for a week. Anyone want to join me and hold me accountable?

I still have about 3 stones to loose and would like to be out of my 16s and squeezing into a 12 by the time I go on holiday in mid July. First goal is to loose 2lbs which should put me in overweight rather than obese. Then I'd like to get to 11 something.... currently 12.9.3.

My problem is I lack motivation, am tired and lazy really..... I need to make a new habit tho.

I survived the night shift with just the healthy snacks I packed. One more tonight.

I went for a very short run - all of 2km - but I’m recovering from a badly sprained ankle so just taking it very easy. Also text the ex Hmm although to be fair it was carefully thought out as it looks like our paths may cross through work over the next few months so I wanted to try and clear the air a little but I’ve been ignored. And being ignored winds me up a real treat. Which makes me eat because food is the solution to everything, right?!

I’ve had a bbq chicken quesadilla with peppers, mushrooms, onion and a little cheese plus some carrot sticks. Dinner is a cobb salad from skinny taste (I’m not a salad person but I CANNOT get enough of this!) and I’m taking grapes, satsumas and pistachios to work. Night shifts are a killer for giving me the munchies as I get SO bored but I’m on multimedia tonight so actually have something to do beyond take 1 call an hour or so. No friends in this shift this week either so it’s a bit dull!

mrsgandy · 16/04/2019 19:18

New potatoes , carrot broccoli and a gammon steak for dinner and a pot of low fat custard.
Did a walk and now will go garden for a while .

Forever hope your night shift goes well . And yeah the text ignoring would get me too . In fact my upset last night was by text too .

swimmingdory · 16/04/2019 19:20

Afternoon all! My muscles are still really sore, I look a right picture walking. So am going to skip the workout today and pick it up tomorrow.

Good day food wise, tuna salad for lunch and gammon and salad for tea. Trying to look into the keto thing a bit more but driving myself a bit dolally. Think I will just try a lazy keto and try to stick under 20g protein but track what I'm eating to see how the macros work out.

Turns out a highlights hot chocolate has like 5g protein in tho 🙈 not sure what I'm going to do for tomorrow yet... any inspiration?

Hi everyone, I've been reading a bit about 16:8. Does anyone here do it? It sounds like something I could manage along with the gym and making better food choices.

swimmingdory I went to the butcher's yesterday and bought a few things just for me. Today I had turkey and chorizo burgers with vegetables. I find if I have something that I like then I feel less deprived. Blush

swimmingdory · 16/04/2019 20:03

Mom nice. I like chorizo. I need to shop really, get some keto friendly stuff. Craving something sweet tonight so have come up to bed to try and get it to pass.

mrsgandy · 16/04/2019 20:30

I am not doing any plan except cut out the crap as much as possible and move more. I get so miserable when dieting and after 30 years it's not made much difference. So for me it's healthier choices and walk walk walk . I also won't eat after dinner so I do have a 12 hour gap .

I know people who do the16:8 and it works great for them .

Foreverlexicon · 17/04/2019 00:08

I’m surviving the night shift so far but there’s biscuits.

I actually don’t feel like eating much, the ex replied and informed me she’s seeing someone else which has stung a bit as it’s only 3 weeks since we split up. However finally not being ignored means I got to say my bit and I feel better for it. Licking my wounds but amazingly don’t feel like stuffing my face so that’s progress of sorts?

Howlongtillbedtime · 17/04/2019 08:39

That's amazing progress forever I am definitely an emotional eater and that would have been a good excuse to trough the carbs!
I hope you managed to avoid the night shift biscuits.

I am thinking of taking up crochet or something to stop me thinking about the snacks. I eat mostly when I am bored or watching tv so I figure of I can do something with my hands it might help. No idea where to start though.

I didn't manage to do any gym yesterday but I cleaned up a storm and stayed on track with food so I'm happy with that.

We have got a really busy few days now but I am determined to stay on track.

Good luck to all for another good day.

mrsgandy · 17/04/2019 08:46

I'm sorry forever about your ex but least you know now and let's put all your focus into getting super fit and fab .
Howlong I tried crotchet but I gave up after a while as I couldn't even cast on lol .
I'm left handed though and seem to have real problem with stuff like that.
Hoping to go for a walk again today .

daisyhead08 · 17/04/2019 08:56

I'm so sorry forever you've done so well to stay focused in the midst of all of that.
I'm going to try an aquafit class this evening which means getting into swimwear, never a nice experience but I'm hoping that the end justifies the means.

I hope everyone has a good day.

DowntonCrabby · 17/04/2019 09:57

@forever hopefully you’ve had a bit of closure from the relationship. Sad

@daisy I do 16:8 naturally only really having coffee until 1/2pm then last eating at 8/9. On it’s own that hasn’t helped me lose weight over the last year or so but that’s because I’ve been eating too much in the timeframe and having too many treats/wine etc.

I’m now doing strict 16:8 or actually I’m trying to push it to 18:6 or even 20:4 while I’m in the first few weeks of FAST diet. Yesterday I ate at 2:30 then 6:30 and haven’t get hungry for the last couple of days. The whole IF thing is supoosed to be useful regardless of the diet you’re on.

Day 3 here, haven’t broken yet, although I did have a glass of slimline tonic with dinner yesterday without realising it had carbs- oops.
I’m avoiding all the kids Easter chocolate though even the open Lindt bunny which is unheard of for me, I just don’t have the cravings.

Plan for today is coffee with a splash of almond milk up until 2pm. To then a bowl of soup- cauliflower/leek/spinach/butter bean/stilton. Then a bag of salad with a mozerella ball for dinner, with some a pesto dressing.

Im off today so the biggest issue will be keeping busy and not thinking about food/wandering aimlessly into the kitchen.

Good luck today everyone Smile

Purplechanges · 17/04/2019 10:17

Day 2 for me today, feel exhausted though! Had a lovely lie in this morning (thanks kids) and now chilling out on sofa hoping the coffee I am drinking kicks in soon!

swimmingdory · 17/04/2019 11:12

@Foreverlexicon well done for not reaching for the biscuits, i hope it's given you some closure.

Morning to everyone else! Day 3 today... same old plan of tuna salad for lunch lol but really enjoying it at the moment... not sure about dinner yet, have a food delivery coming to open my options up a little. Maybe pulled pork? My legs are still really stiff, but not as bad as yesterday so hoping i may be able to fit some exercise in tonight... see how it goes. Otherwise, i will in the morning.

OP posts:
swimmingdory · 17/04/2019 20:52

😱 where is everyone? I don't know where today has gone it's been a whirlwind.... no exercise as I'm still hurting but I've done ok food wise.

L tuna mayo salad
S cheese string and protein shake
D pulled pork salad

Am a bit tired today, the lack of carbs adjusting I suppose. Tomorrow I have another tuna salad 😂 but I'm thinking I might do sausage egg and celeriac chips for tea. Hoping the pain will have gone from my legs tomorrow and I can do run 2 of c25k.

Hope you're all doing ok?

mrsgandy · 17/04/2019 21:50

Hello everyone .
Dory hope your not so sore tomorrow.
I ended up being tired today too and actually got in bed for an hour this afternoon and had a sleep .

Someone gave me a small button Easter egg . How pathetic am I that I opened it and had some .
I went for a 5km walk this eve and came home and knew the egg would beckon me so I sprayed it with kitchen cleaner and put it in bin . Problem solved lol. But how pathetic that I had to do that .

I have walked now 3 days in a row and I'm feeling better in myself and even though I had a sleeep today I think it was good for me .

Daisy hope the aqua fit was fun .
Downtom I would love to be as disciplined as you sounds like your on a good plan .
Purple I hope the tiredness past by and you had a good day . Off for a bath now and bed .

Feeling positive this time that I might make some good changes before the summer and be a bit lighter for a change

swimmingdory · 18/04/2019 05:15

@mrsgandy well done for not eating all of it. That took real control and was you changing your mindset which is ultimately where success lies!

OP posts:
Foreverlexicon · 18/04/2019 07:13

Well done everyone!

My day yesterday wasn’t stellar but it wasn’t terrible either. The ex came back in the morning and it escalated into a nasty row which I hate as now it’s all been left on such a bad note. I didn’t get nasty back but it was like talking to a brick wall and she was totally gaslighting me. Unfortunately still struggling to acknowledge that actually this isn’t about me and that she just doesn’t really have any empathy and isn’t actually very nice. I’m a sucker for toxic relationships and having CBT to help change this.

I skipped my silks class which I never do as I love it and it’s good exercise but I didn’t get any sleep so had been up 28 hours at that point.

Weighed this morning and down 4.2 pounds from last week. I would be happier but that’s still 5 pounds more than I was a few weeks ago!
Sister is bringing round an Easter egg tonight and not sure how to handle that - I don’t keep chocolate in the house as I just eat it all in 1 sitting!

Plan to take the horse for a long ride and go for a run later today.

swimmingdory · 18/04/2019 07:26

Sorry you're still having trouble with the ex @Foreverlexicon does she still have to be a part of your world? Well done on the weight loss. 5lbs is great and whilst it may not be as light as you were is still lightee than you've been so don't sell yourself short. You sound me you're active which is great

One just done run two I'd c25k my muscles are still stuff but it was manageable. I've made sure to do a good stretch after.

OP posts:
DowntonCrabby · 18/04/2019 09:44

That’s a fab weight loss forever Grin
Is there any way you can cut all contact with the ex? She sounds horrible.

Well I caved and had wine, I’m definitely still in ketosis this morning though so it doesn’t seem to have made an impact. only had a glass so not enough to male me eat a load of crap/carbs late at night.

I’m heading into work for a 24h shift later and it’s full of biscuits/chocolate/crisps so I’ll need to stay strong. Planning to take some berries/cheese and have something like an omelette for tea.

Still on the coffee with a splash of almond milk, I’m getting to quite enjoy it and not missing actual milk.

Good luck for today all Halo

Howlongtillbedtime · 18/04/2019 10:01

Morning all

Just a quick hello as I'm my phone.

Wk1 r2 done. This is definitely harder than I remember but I'm doing it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

swimmingdory · 18/04/2019 21:11

@DowntonCrabby how can you tell you're still in ketosis? I'm trying to get my head around the keto stuff. What's your job that's a 24 hr shift! Wow! Hope you get through it and stay strong and focused

Well done @Howlongtillbedtime I did run 2 today too and found it harder than run 1... I expect because my muscles are still sore. How great would it be to be able to run 5k by the summer tho?! Will make such a difference to our body shapes too I think.

So I've spent some time trying to get my head around keto and think I now have the right idea and have worked out the correct macros (lots of conflicting advice out there). It does though mean a LOT of fat which is not something I'm used to. So I now need to spend some time looking at how those macros turn into meals, previously I had thought it was just about low carb high protein! Today's lunch was .... bet you can't guess 🙈 tuna salad but tea was fillet steak and asparagus cooked in garlic butter with a small salad and grilled halloumi. Was absolutely lovely. I love garlic butter. Have steak left over so that will be tomorrow's lunch in some form.

Anyway run 2 done of c25k. Feeling good, definitely lost some bloat and I'm hopeful for a good weigh in in the morning... would be nice to smash into overweight, which I'm hopeful for considering how low carb I've been all week! Hope everyone out there lurking is doing ok? Come say hi!! X

OP posts:
swimmingdory · 19/04/2019 05:21

WI done. I lost 2.2lbs 👍🏻 which is fab but so frustrating because my bmi is now 30.1 🤬. That does mean though that next week I will be less than 12st7 and in the overweight bracket (assuming I lose more than 0.2lbs) so that's something to look forward to.

OP posts:
mrsgandy · 19/04/2019 07:10

Well done dory that's a super loss .
And you will definitely drop that quickly .
Your dinner sounds really nice last night . I had a homemade chicken curry.
I went out for a walk yesterday and did my groceries shop. Today is free now for walking and cleaning although not too excited for the cleaning.

Pinkvici22 · 19/04/2019 07:53

I’m 3lbs down, so 15lbs since new year and I’m just in the healthy BMI range. This weekend will be so hard but I’m determined to keep going!

Well done on the losses so far!

swimmingdory · 19/04/2019 08:22

Thanks @mrsgandy I'm planning a curry at some point this week I think! Enjoy cleaning. I don't mind a deep clean though I always regret it about two hours in but the end result is so worth it! And it's good exercise 😉

Well done @Pinkvici22! Amazing to be in the healthy range 👏🏻 do you have much more you want to lose?

The weekend will be hard everyone, especially with it being warm and sunny.... we can do it though. Stay on plan and we'll be so glad we did in the summer!
