Hi

I need to stop snacking and eating crap! So I'm drawing a line and starting fresh from Monday. I'm planning to eat healthily / low carb and am trialling Beachbody On Demand .... hoping this one will hook me as the workouts are different each day rather than the same for a week. Anyone want to join me and hold me accountable?

I still have about 3 stones to loose and would like to be out of my 16s and squeezing into a 12 by the time I go on holiday in mid July. First goal is to loose 2lbs which should put me in overweight rather than obese. Then I'd like to get to 11 something.... currently 12.9.3.

My problem is I lack motivation, am tired and lazy really..... I need to make a new habit tho.

At my desk having coffee . There is one pack of ww biscuits left in my drawer . My mind set is if I eat them they are gone but I'm not hungry so I'm going to forget them . Fingers crossed 🤞

Purple there are some good you tube exercise people you could follow . I'm a huge fan of Leslie Sansone although she's a bit happy happy but I will be doing a work out with her later as Won't get out tonight probably.

At least I say I will but my exercise mojo is non existent. So may force myself . Any words of encouragement?

Howlongtillbedtime · 15/04/2019 12:05

Looks like everyone is having a fab start.

Only have to keep this up for ............

Wk1 r1 done . Sadly it was harder than I remember it but I managed.

Mrsgandy my thing with exercise that I have to remind myself of is I have never regretted doing it but I nearly always regret not doing it. My words of wisdom for the day !!

I am hoping to meet a friend after lunch and go for a walk so that will keep me away from temptation too.

Good luck everyone.

DowntonCrabby · 15/04/2019 12:18

I’d love to join you all, after dipping in and out of 5:2 last year but clearly dipping in and out of the fridge more I’m starting on FAST800 today.

I turn 35 in a couple of months and made such an effort to get slim and fit before 30, I achieved it and maintained it for a good few years but the last year has just gone to shit with various things. I need to start prioritising my health again.

I’ve chosen FAST800 as I naturally do TRE anyway, I just eat all the crap in the evening! So I’ll have a low carb meal at 1-2pm/ another at 6ish and stick to 800 calories a day. I’ll probably try and save 100cals for a snack to have around 8/9pm at least until my body feels used to the changes.

I’ll be using MFP to track and will also up my walking. I’m really really fucked off with myself, in summer 2014 I did a 26 mile moonwalk and the summer after I walked 100km in 23 hours for BHF. To have gotten to that point and it all to have gone downhill is really inexcusable Sad

Anyway good luck everyone, onwards and upwards, we’ll downwards actually!

daisyhead08 · 15/04/2019 14:00

Thank you for the lovely words of encouragement. I walked for 1.5 hours last night after eating a creme egg at my dad's birthday party and got up and went to the gym early.
I'm definitely an emotional eater, I'm in therapy now but have really struggled to undo years of hurt caused by my mum that really only surfaced when I had my own children. I use food to make me feel better.
Good luck to everyone here. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who struggles. I feel like the fattest mum around sometimes, where I live is a suburb full of very beautiful, skinny mums.

Howlongtillbedtime · 15/04/2019 15:33

How is everyone doing ?

This is a dodgy time of day for me. I have had my walk but it's a long time till dinner.

Will drink some water and pick up my book.
I hope everyone else is getting on ok.

Foreverlexicon · 15/04/2019 17:37

Hello!
Can I jump in?
I’ve had a bit of a shitty winter and have
managed to gain over 2 stone since September 😳 through periods of binging.

I’m having a bit of a life overhaul; therapy to sort my head out, start my dream job in 6 weeks and now need to address the food.

First goal is to focus on eating actual healthy meals instead of just binging on crap and start running again!

petalsandstars · 15/04/2019 17:52

I always watch these threads and stop sticking to the plan but I’ve really got to change this. I’m almost 13st and have a wedding (not mine Smile ) and a holiday in the next 3 months and I can’t even squeeze into last years summer clothes Sad. I am allowing myself half a dozen days where I will have cake /a night out in the hope that actually the rest I will stick to healthy eating. School holidays always make it so much harder (craving chocs to cope with bickering children Hmm ). C25k newbie here too.

swimmingdory · 15/04/2019 18:06

How did you get on @Pinkvici22 nothing worse than tiredness!

@mrsgandy I love granola, it's my favourite breakfast too. I don't tend to have a breakfast as I struggle for time with kids, also feel it makes me hungrier. But I try to have a protein shake. Did you stay away from the biscuits? Desk jobs are the worst for making you want to munch. Excercise is a battle for me too, but that's what is going to give the biggest changes, and what will allow us a treat here and there.

How do you find the hula hoop @Purplechanges I really fancy that but can't keep a normal hoop up 🙈

Well done on run 1 @Howlongtillbedtime! I love what you say about regret, it's so true. It's funny how our minds will instantly be trying to talk us out of it too. Mine has so been telling me today that I'll hurt too much tomorrow, I should just do c25k rather than something every day etc. One piece of chocolate won't hurt. On and on it goes lol. What book are you reading?

@DowntonCrabby what's TRE? The thing with fitness is it takes ages to get it and no time at all to lose it. And life is tough, there's always some obstacle in the way. But let's get back there!

Well done on the exercise @daisyhead08 great result!

Welcome @Foreverlexicon that's me too, need to stop grazing / snacking and start actually cooking! Good for you grabbing your life by the balls.

Hi @petalsandstars Nice to have you on board! Are you far into the c25k? Good to have goals to work towards, should help to keep you focused!

So my day has been good. I had my protein shake, tuna salad for lunch and sweet chilli chicken salad for tea. Also had a highlights hot choc. Only thing with salads is they don't fill you for long so I might have a protein bar at bed time.

My legs are heavy and my body tired from exercising this morning! So I'm sure I'll hurt tomorrow and need to push through it.

Focusing on my holiday in 12 weeks, and that overweight zone being just a few lbs away. I'd really like to be comfortably in a 14 by the time we go away but I know it's the exercise that will make the difference to how I look in those 14s!

Tomorrow's plan is much the same. Exercise first thing, protein shake, chicken salad for lunch and then glazed gammon for tea, not sure what with yet.

@swimmingdory I can keep it up for a whole 4 reps - it's gonna be a work in progress! My 10yr old gymnast DD makes it look far easier than it is - she once hula hooped the whole way down the street and back. I am determined to master it though as it's actually on my bucket list!

Diet wise my day has been a disaster again. I am finding the decluttering is making my anxiety bad, I have struggled today to let things go. But have three boxes piled up ready for the carboot already and that's only DS bedroom half way done Blush things have got a little easier as the decluttering went along, my son is actually grateful for the space he is gaining!

My children are so lucky in that they have lots of wonderful stuff but I am struggling to let things go. Think growing up with nothing is where it's coming from and I have eaten my emotions again today.

Ah well there's always tomorrow - the point is I guess is to keep trying and hopefully something will click.

Pinkvici22 · 15/04/2019 20:40

Hey everyone! Not too bad a day for me - food pretty good, just had a chocolate rice cake but could be worse. Have tons to do but made myself go for a 30 min walk to get some exercise, fresh air and a break. Just need to stay away from food for the rest of the night!

swimmingdory · 15/04/2019 20:48

Can't fail if we keep trying .. remember that

@Purplechanges I did a massive declutter / clear out just before Xmas. Ended up hiring a skip so it could just get fired straight in. I made my sister help me to stop me keeping stuff just because it had cost money / hardly been used etc. I know it's rough but you'll feel better once it's done xx

Good evening everyone . Too tired to respond to everyone but well done . Seems we are getting off to somewhat of a start.
Dory I'll be honest I ate the biscuits .
But I went to aldi after and piled up on fruit . No biscuits left .
I'm just home from 40 mins walk . I have done over 10k steps today and I'm happy I have started .
Lunch was toasted sandwich and dinner like some one else sweet chilli chicken rice and pepper and onion . Brown rice with quinoa.
Not sure if I want a little snack now or not though . Bit peckish but maybe just need water .

Isn't it good we have started this week before Easter . Think it would have been easy to let it slide until next week .

swimmingdory · 15/04/2019 23:34

10k steps is great well done! You're right, would have been so easy to pass it off for after Easter / bank holiday. Go us!

Hi everyone, can I join? I started again yesterday with the motivation that my holiday is 15 weeks away. The lbs have crept on here and I've just been ignoring but things need to stop.
I do weights but I need to up my cardio. I know I could do better if I lost a couple of stone.
I'm cutting out crap. Snacks , booze and beige food has to be minimal.
Looks like everyone is off to a great start.

swimmingdory · 16/04/2019 07:17

Welcome @glutesalliance nice to have you with us

"Ow, ow, ow, ow" that is me with every step this morning. My calf muscles are killing me, I have an awful headache and have barely slept all night. Bleurgh. So I'm having a lazy morning and will do an exercise routine later today when my muscles have (hopefully) loosened a little!

Been reading up on keto and think I'm going to try a loose version of that for a while. Anyone done it before?

OP posts:
petalsandstars · 16/04/2019 08:40

Fruit and yoghurt for breakfast this morning, I’m heading out for the gym shortly to do c25k on the treadmill. I had completed week 1 and the first of week 2 but haven’t done any exercise for a fortnight as I had a horrid cold which knocked me out.

DowntonCrabby · 16/04/2019 09:12

Morning all,

swimmingdory TRE is time restricted eating, another component of the FAST diet. I’m trying to only eat in an 8hour window or 6 if I can manage it.

I had a good day first day yesterday and feeling OK today, I expect the sugal withdrawal to hit at some point though.

I have a shop being delivered later, very different from my usual shop ofnalmost exactly the same things every week. I’m hoping to make most of the same meals for the family and I’ll have a veg side instead of pasta/potatoes etc.

Happy Tuesday everyone, stay strong and plan non foodie ways to treat yourselves Flowers

DowntonCrabby · 16/04/2019 09:15

@purplechanges you’ve inspired me to attempt a cat boot sale this coming weekend. I’ve had a huge declutter over the past week as kids have been away with GP for the hols. Have you read Marie Kondo? It’s a bit wanky but really helps you make peace with getting rid of clutter.

Howlongtillbedtime · 16/04/2019 09:28

Morning a!l
I hope the muscles have eased a bit now dory I have never done keto but I know it works well. I just can't be that strict with myself. Lower calorie is more flexible so that's my plan. That and getting off my arse more.

My plan today is to get to the gym
Stay within cals
My plans for housework fell flat yesterday as I had a house and garden ful of teens. So today I have to get on it. I have a friend staying for a few days tomorrow so I am.on it today.

Good luck everyone.

mrsgandy · 16/04/2019 10:23

My legs bit achy to although I only walked .
Feel down today so it will be a struggle . Someone upset me last night a bit and it throws me off kilter.
Will try to lift out of the fog now . Least I know food won't make me feel better but a nice coffee might so will go have that and get on with work .

Purplechanges · 16/04/2019 11:29

@DowntonCrabby I have read Marie Kindo but struggle to apply her methods to my kids stuff. Outgrown clothes are easy, we have people we pass them onto so that's always nice. But it's their toys and all those bits of paper and school books they collect.

DS is actually happy to sell some of his stuff. I heard him tell his big sister this morning that he is excited to see space in his room so he can play in there again. My DD no longer plays with toys as such but will not let anything go. Then there are the soft toys ..... all with sentimental attachment. Just googling the bean bag storage things for them as this will create purpose and they each have space for a beanbag.

Our local car boot doesn't start I don't think until a week on Sunday so plenty of time to get this done!

Anyway I totally digress! This is a weight loss thread (but don't you find these things go hand in hand?!).

I am determined to complete day 1 diet wise today if it kills me. So far just 2 coffees. Just about to do lunch so a turkey ham wrap with a piece of fruit for me. Have decided to limit the junk - WW unfortunately gives too much freedom in that sense sometimes so find myself just eating crisps all day. So a limit if just ONE naughty item per day (this is crisps/biscuits/choc etc).

Have a good day everyone!

daisyhead08 · 16/04/2019 11:41

It's great to see the positive updates here. I went to the gym yesterday and then went out for a walk last night. I realised that the last time I lost weight that I had really tried to look after myself and be organised so I'm going to try and have some food in the freezer for when I come home from work to stop me eating the wrong things. I find that eating porridge for breakfast tops a lot of my mindless snacking.
DowntonCrabby do you find TRE helpful? I wonder if it would have an impact if I'm not doing the FAST?

The plan for today is:
Gym at 6.00pm and might try for a walk later on.
Low carb for lunch and dinner

Have a good day everyone

daisyhead08 · 16/04/2019 11:41

stops

mrsgandy · 16/04/2019 14:12

Decluttering helps with everything. I have had lunch and so badly want a snooze but have promised my daughter we will go walking with the dogs . I know the sleepy feeling will pass by.
Lunch was a wrap with passata , mozzarella cheese , 2 slices of pepperoni, diced onion , pineapple, sweetcorn and peppers . It was delicious. Feel very full .

Dinner not sure of what we will get .
