Hi

I need to stop snacking and eating crap! So I'm drawing a line and starting fresh from Monday. I'm planning to eat healthily / low carb and am trialling Beachbody On Demand .... hoping this one will hook me as the workouts are different each day rather than the same for a week. Anyone want to join me and hold me accountable?

I still have about 3 stones to loose and would like to be out of my 16s and squeezing into a 12 by the time I go on holiday in mid July. First goal is to loose 2lbs which should put me in overweight rather than obese. Then I'd like to get to 11 something.... currently 12.9.3.

My problem is I lack motivation, am tired and lazy really..... I need to make a new habit tho.

Id love to join if I'm not too late. I'm currently 11st and want to loose a stone. I'm constantly 'starting again' and don't seem to be able to be able to even manage a couple of days before I self sabotage. I'm planning a min of 10k steps per day, 2 runs per week and limit myself to one 'treat' each day. Doesn't help that I'm a 50 something going through peri-menopause!

Pinkvici22 · 19/04/2019 09:38

Thanks dory - I’d like to lose at least another 7lbs...in an ideal world probably another stone, but not sure how realistic that is.

Looks like a lovely weekend -planning a bbq with tons of salad and roasted veg!

Purplechanges · 19/04/2019 11:25

Ah I have been rubbish, was gonna run away from this thread to be honest but decided to post! The whole point of joining you all was to stay accountable!

Cancelled my weight watchers subscription as it isn't working at all for me.

Revisiting reduction of carbs, fasting and meal replacements (good quality protein shakes). And currently planning out some sort of exercise regime for when the kids go back to school.

Focusing on the big declutter between now and then though.

Weighed this morning and have actually lost half a pound somehow so I guess not all is lost.

Please can I ask if I don't post that someone shouts at me ...... I realise I am a grown up and should be able to do this but I seem to be struggling Blush

daisyhead08 · 19/04/2019 12:41

Having a bit of a blip here, my lovely dog was put to sleep this morning, so I had eaten biscuits before I even noticed what I was doing. 240 calories of pure crap. I hope the gym class I did this morning will offset the damage.

Pinkvici22 that's amazing to get to a healthy weight, well done!

DowntonCrabby · 19/04/2019 14:12

Sorry to hear that daisy you’ll have lovely memories of your Dog

purple I often need a dose of tough love too. I’ve come to realise though that it’s really is just about getting in the mindset, researching and planning to make the changes you really want to make. Well done on the loss, you’re clearly making changes. The declutter continues here too, it definitely helps with the mindset of making changes.

Well done to swimming and pink too on the losses.

swimming it’s naughty but I’ve been using ketone testing sticks, the novelty has worn off now and I’ll use them sensibly maybe every 2/3 days and not every toilet trip like I had been doing. I know they aren’t widely advised and don’t actually tell the whole picture though.

Day 5 here and I’ve definitely turned some sort of corner, I feel great! I bounced around for a good hour this morning before relishing I hadn’t had coffee, usually I’d need it to get going and keep going. I’m finding the stevia too sweet now so I’m going to cut down to half and attempt to stop. My tastebuds have changed. I don’t know how long I’ll stick to the fast 800 with 16:8 then IF but I’m hoping to do at least 8 weeks of sugar free. My skin is brighter too.

I have a confession though, I haven’t been on the scales since May 2018 so I don’t have a starting point for this health kick. I’m hoping to just go by how I feel/ how clothes fit and I might use a measuring tape in the coming weeks. I know seeing a number, whatever number it is would be massively depressing and hugely demotivate me. I know as well tracking weight of I have a weeek of being good and don’t lose I’ll totally sabotage my efforts on frustration. I know I’ll need to step on at some point though. Maybe when I’m comfortably down a dress size.

What’s everyone got planned for the weekend? We have a family get together tomorrow and I’ll be surrounded by carby party food and pushy feeder family! Planning on taking a few things and trying not to make a big deal of it but I imagine that’s easier said than done.

Positive and motivational love to all 🌟🌟🌟

DowntonCrabby · 19/04/2019 14:12

God, sorry that was massive!

mrsgandy · 19/04/2019 16:24

Daisy I'm so sorry about your dog . I cried for days when mine was PTS .
Downton I too don't really know my weight only that I'm on the near side of 15st . Last time I weighed I was 14st 10. I have been trying to pluck up courage to weigh myself , I'm afraid too that it will send me on a spiral . Downwards .
But I need to face this soon . Hoping that when I do I might miraculously be 14st 7 maybe after being good and exercising.

I have my walk done already today . A good 90 min hike of clambering and heavy breathing. Whatever I was standing at one point my dd said I looked pregnant, she not wrong but it's just all age 50 belly fat . Like you pontious bloody menopausal.

Purple I have joined and left more threads than I can count but somehow I feel comfortable with you lot . Stick with it and we will gently shout when you don't post . And ditto for me please .

Pinkvicci well done that's great loss .
Dory hope your day is good .

I'm on an app so hope I replied to everyone.

SuperNoodly · 19/04/2019 17:28

Hello all. Can I join, too?

I’m 13 stone - the heaviest I’ve been since I was pregnant with my youngest, who is now 10! - and I really want to lose the 1.5 stone that has crept on since turning 40.

I’ve ordered a low carb online shop to come on Saturday and lined up a load of fitness videos on YouTube to do every morning before work. Also going to massively cut down on my wine consumption.

I’d really appreciate a place to chat and some friendly motivation Grin.

DowntonCrabby · 19/04/2019 19:50

Hi supernoodly im on the wine as I type, I’m allowing myself 2 large glasses as that’s the level I know I’ll happliy just stop rather than stop to eat toast and cheese!
I’ll have a couple of glasses tomorrow too with family. I’m choosing my battles at the moment and if a glass of red will satisfy me more than an Easter egg I’m taking that as a win! I’m doing low carb too and have managed this week on

swimmingdory · 19/04/2019 20:40

Well done @pontiouspilates .... don't be too hard on yourself and remember we're looking for progress not perfection!

Glad you came back @Purplechanges pls continue to post... your posts help me and I'll try to call you out too! What sort of exercise are you looking at.

Ah @daisyhead08 I'm so sorry about your dog. It's such an awful thing to go through.

@DowntonCrabby I'm looking forward to some energy coming, today I feel completely exhausted! How lovely though that you're already feeling the positive effects. Def don't do the numbers if it's a trigger for you. Look at the ZOZO suit that can be good for measurements! Well done on

Have had a good day today, minimum carbs, no crap. DH currently cooking a curry which I will have with yogurt and no rice/bread.

Have stormed the decluttering and DS room is almost perfect. Just need another hour or so tomorrow on it then to hit DDs room (biggest room in the house and the most full).

@daisyhead08 sorry to hear about your dog, it's such an awful time, am thinking of you!

@swimmingdory I just need a plan of action re the exercise and then to write it on my to do list each day (or I won't don't it!). Will be looking at thing I can follow probably on YouTube. Jill Sansome is already noted after being recommended on here. And I will dig out that bloody hula hoop and plan in some sessions with that too. I can't do aerobics or anything that is too hard on the knees so need to work around that too.

Well that curry is calling! Will check in again tomorrow.

DowntonCrabby · 19/04/2019 21:24

Enjoy the curry purple man I adore curry

swimming apparently the unsweetened almond milk is 0.2g/100g carb so really minimal. If I’m honest it’s a tiny bit salty and I really prefer the oat version but for massively reduced cal and carb I’ll suck it up!

Purplechanges · 19/04/2019 22:24

@DowntonCrabby it was awesome, king prawn madras! Prawns are my fave and I was so darn hungry (was later than we intended eating) so I practically inhaled it Wink

mediocrityandbeans · 19/04/2019 23:15

Hi everyone, can I join in too?

Currently about 12 stone and 5'5". My weights fluctuated from 8 stone 7 (although during an eating disorder) to 10.5 stone, down to 9 stone, up to 11, down to 9.5 etc...and finally up to this which is my highest weight ever. My ideal goal is back to 9 stone, which was only 1.5 years ago but managed to put weight on very quickly after going through horrible health problems and eating and drinking lots to comfort myself! Blush

My main vices are cheese, pasta and wine, so my plan is to cut down on all three and calorie count! I'm already vegetarian turning vegan and about to start low carb, so that's half the battle, but I think I need the extra motivation here!

Looking forward to seeing everyones progress!

swimmingdory · 20/04/2019 08:02

@Purplechanges you're giving me the urge to sort my house out!! The kids bedrooms particularly are so in need of it so that might be something I do next week!

Hi @mediocrityandbeans welcome! A couple of us on this thread are doing low carb too.

So... week1 🏃🏻‍♀️3 ✅ I worked on going slower today to try and help with my breathing. Was tough but it's done. Not worked out a food plan for today yet, thinking poached egg and avocado for breakfast maybe. For now though I need to go and pack the kids' things 😫

mrsgandy · 20/04/2019 08:17

Ah dory enjoy the weeks oeace .
I'm having a lie in this morning as seldom get one .

mrsgandy · 20/04/2019 09:07

On a separate note anyone any idea of clothes I can buy for the next month or so ( or summer as realistically I'm not going to lose enough by then ) . Online site best as I love rural enough .
The sun is shining and I have practically nothing to wear Sad

mrsgandy · 20/04/2019 09:08

Size 16 . So hard

swimmingdory · 20/04/2019 09:53

I feel your pain @mrsgandy my wardrobe consists of jeans and T-shirt's at the moment and I can never find anyhing that I like to wear. The good thing about the warmer weather is that we welcome back maxi dresses, not seen many people who can't carry off a maxi dress x

OP posts:
mrsgandy · 20/04/2019 12:18

Oh that's a point . So long as it has sleeves to cover my flabby arms .

Been on the go all morning . Short walk and cleaning and laundry .
Oh and I did a flower arrangement too as a gift .
Might do some online shopping later although budget is bit tight

swimmingdory · 20/04/2019 13:35

@mrsgandy a nice light shrug / cardigan will sort that out.

I had tomato and mozzerella salad for lunch just now, only just hungry so hopefully a sign the keto is starting to work. Have spent all morning packing for the kids and sorting out their rooms. They've just left so I've now the lounge and kitchen to sort as there where I've dumped everything that didn't belong upstairs lol. That'll keep me busy for a few hours I'm sure.

OP posts:
daisyhead08 · 20/04/2019 13:47

Thank you for all the lovely words, I'm feeling much better today and trying to focus on keeping the kids happy. I don't want to admit what weight or size I am, I had always hovered at my biggest around a 16 but I have ballooned now so I live in oversize dresses for work but I can't to that forever.

The weather is beautiful here so I'm going to try and get out for a bit.

mrsgandy I tend to save up and buy a couple of dresses from Cos, they not the cheapest, but they cover me up and if I add some earrings I look like a made some sort of an effort. They last forever too. I have been known to buy the same dress in different colours in the sale.

mrsgandy · 20/04/2019 14:43

Daisy thanks for that tip . I will look that up . Cos ?
Had a look on Debenhams , saw nothing .

Dory good look with the sort out . I just cleaned windows and did the master bedroom. Laundry too . Keeping busy but thinking a little rest now be nice before I am at taxi mom again in an hour

SuperNoodly · 20/04/2019 15:14

Afternoon all! Thank you for the warm welcome Grin.

DowntonCrabby, I’m allowing myself moderate wine drinking over the Easter weekend, but then going to get strict on myself and not drink at all unless a very special occasion. My drinking has really crept up lately (as has my weight!), so going to see if knocking it on the head has any effect.
Re: online shop: I’ve ordered lots of veg, eggs, fish/chicken/prawns, Greek yoghurt, almonds, berries. I don’t eat much read meat & have NO self control around cheese/cream, so have avoided those.

Summer clothes...gah! I’ve never loved them, even at my slimmest. I’m a tights and boots kinda gal. Dreading having to find something to wear this year. I’m wearing leggings and a tunic dress today and feel incredibly dumpy.

Over ate a bit last night as went to some friends for Passover dinner and they had three types of dessert Grin....

But on the plus side I didn’t drink much, and went for a 2hour walk on Hampstead Heath today, which was lovely.

petalsandstars · 20/04/2019 15:25

Urgh, someone brought loads of Easter eggs to work yesterday and the 3am slump saw me eating chocolate!! Night shifts are the worse for my willpower through tiredness. I’m too worried of my red face to run in public yet so I’m going to do a cross trainer run instead at home. Holiday clothes are beckoning quickly Wink
